The hour has come; we’re about to learn more about the next generation of Pokémon games coming to the Nintendo 3DS: Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon. - Grass starter is Rowlet; “Grass Quill Pokémon” w/ ability Overgrow. Also knows new low-level Grass-type attack “Leafage” that is available from when you receive it
- Fire starter is Litten; “Fire Cat Pokémon” w/ ability Blaze
- Water starter is Popplio; “Sea Lion Pokémon” w/ ability Torrent
- Alola Region
- Release date is November 18 in NA/JP and November 23 in EU

Popplio’s name seems to be a combination of pop and lio from Ilio-holo-i-ka-uaua the Hawaiian name for the Hawaiian Monk Seal, meaning “dog that runs in rough water”.
Isnt pop just a deviated “pup” as in a baby sea lion?

You guys.. I Really hope for new burst forms or whatever ash greninja is for all starters also. This way if I want more than one starter… one can mega.. one can burst.. so I won’t feel like I have to replace the weaker mega with a better Pokemon. I just can’t stand having a Pokemon on my team.. that would be so much better as a mega.. but the slot is already taken for that

Lupplio – I could imagine getting legs via those pedals, going into bipedal sharm variation.
Litten – Liepars alike, with that stuff around his getting more prominnet and a buffed tail
Rowlet – Emu alike with some amazing wings.

Maybe the new girl will get the water type.. or serena if she comes along. That’s the natural performer of the trio. Ash needs a brake from the water types after special greninja

Well I wish I would have stayed up now. But oh well. I was too tired. I love everything and the trailer. Hawaii confirmed. I like the fire and water starter the grass one though eh, maybe the evos will fix that. The rival looks cool. Both player characters look nice. The professor looks awesome. The graphics and such look really nice (finally goodbye grid). The region looks pretty cool. Reminded me a bit of Sinnoh with that volcano which makes sense because Hawaii. And both box art legends look awesome. I am definitely very excited and can’t wait to see more. Looks like no following Pokemon still but eh I didn’t really excited it so whatever. Also I’m glad we’ve finally got a real release instead of “holiday”. Definitely excited and can’t wait.
If Hala is the professor, who’s Kukui? Is he the rival and your cousin? Or did he just say cousin because hawaiians call each other that. Also he has on a lab coat and is shirtless underneath c:
Kukui seems to be the Assistant and cousin who greats us upon reaching the region.
My guess is not actually related. It’s just like Stitch calling his fellow experiments cousins.
Do you know what would be cool? Not just seasons… but holidays in game. But hawaii isn’t know for its many weather changes

I love Yokai Watch, mainly because they did everything Pokemon hasn’t done.
I would love for location based weather. Like if it’s raining in your area, it’d be raining in the game. Probably will never happen though

I can see Poppilo’s second stage being slightly taller and longer, the frills around the neck grow a pointed lobes with a pearl at the base of the neck
The pectoral flippers much longer and sturdy, and it will gain 2 tendrils that resemble a jester’s cap, and it would get slightly longer whiskers
And the tail longer

Does any one think that the “region” looks a tad small. I think there will be multiple islands because the one they showed looks liked it amounts to a large town.

So I’m really curious now how diverse the region will be. Because it looks like EVERYTHING is tropical. Except for the city which looks like a regular urban city. But what I like about Kalos is that the region is diverse. So I hope that this region isn’t just water water palm tree mountain water lol

Well, I mean it had desert, coastal area, snowy mountains, swampy areas, floral, farm lands, and cities. It was VERY diverse.

This first part/island of the region indeed look pretty basic still I think they will create diverse paths and stuff.
The weird thing is I don not see a forest part here, which is weird for a Poke game.

It’d be really cool if each island was based off of a different biome. It’s a fictional world, it doesn’t need to exactly make sense.
