The embargo for ORAS review has lifted and reviews are now out in the wild. I’ve rounded up some of them here. Are you excited for ORAS launching this Friday (or next week) and are you curious if they live up to the hype. Spoilers: Nope, they are the worst Pokémon games ever.
- Gamespot – Give these remakes enough time, and you begin to understand why Pokemon’s formula hasn’t changed much over the years. It’s a seemingly simple and cute journey, but with the underlying potential for strategy in combat, and a massive number of adorable Pokemon to catch, you can’t help getting hooked by Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. 8/10
- GoNintendo – Overall, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire is a good improvement over the original Sapphire as well as last year’s X/Y releases. While it may not be the right game for players to jump back into the series or into it for the first time, it’s more enjoyable with a lot of streamlined features while adding new design elements that attempt to engage players in more aspects of the game.
- IGN – As a 3D remake, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby do a fantastic job of reintroducing Hoenn. Little details, like characters turning their heads to look as you pass or flocks of Wingulls flying overhead, make the region really come to life, and small updates and tweaks help make the journey smoother.
- Joystiq – Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire do little to overhaul the major pillars of a series that’s long relied on the same set of classic ideas, but they don’t have to. The core mechanics of Pokemon remain immensely addictive, and Game Freak’s latest coat of polish only enhances an already captivating adventure. 4.5/5
- Nintendo World Report – Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are way better games than last year’s X/Y while also improving on the Game Boy Advance originals. 9/10
- Daely Reviews – With the lack of Mega Flygon, no Mega Milotic and no Battle Frontier, these are literally the worst Pokémon games ever. Ever. 2/10.

These reviews r to b expected. Pokemon almost never gets perfect scores, but basically always gets near perfect ones lol
Is the last review real or is it a joke? I’m tired of listening to complains about the possibility of the games not having any new Mega Evolutions, we have a lot of new features and also the guys that make the reviews play loads of games and some may not be real Pokémon fans! We know much more about the games and we’ll enjoy the games much more!

Can’t believe this game comes out in three days! Pretty much expected these kinds of reviews for it as well. Most Pokémon games average about 8/10 anyway 🙂

For those of u who do midnight releases: Y? sure u get it earlier than people that go at a reasonable time, but still…….I choose not to do midnight release bc honestly…..I’m not staying up all night to play a game. This guy has to b wide awake to enjoy something as good as Pokemon lol
If I could, I’d get it at midnight just so that I’d have it ready to play when I get out of class on Friday. But I wouldn’t stay up all night because I have class at 9 (not that early) but I need sleep or I will not stay awake..

Yeah it’s BS. I agree that HMs are annoying but I wouldn’t dock the score because of that. Platinum and HG/SS have HMs, and they are still my two favorites and are amazing even with them.

One aspect Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire focuses on is injecting replayability into just about every area in the game. You can re-battle Pokémon Trainers and Gym Leaders every 24 hours, as well as scout out new Super Secret Bases, and pick and replant berries.
Should I name my female Milotic “Aurora” or “Nagini”? I like Aurora because it’s kind of a play off of an oar fish which is what milotic is based on and also aurora is a pretty name that seems to fit. But I like Nagini because I live for naming my pokemon after Harry Potter stuff.

after reading all the reviews i’m not too surprised that they weren’t 10/10, i mean sure the Hoenn Region is often a fan favorite, and new graphics and features will appeal to veteran gamers but said veteran gamers have come to always expect more and more with each game and if it doesn’t deliver said expectations then it can never be the 10/10 dynamite game of the year
I mean you can load a game with all the bells and whistles and make the gameplay and stories beyond good but there will always be somebody or group of gamers who nit pick every cell of every graphic or sentence dialogue and if they don’t like it one bit they will never rank it perfect

Yeah, I’m guessing that this is an event that happens postgame, and instead of rematching Steven you rematch Wallace but you can still battle Steven maybe in Meteor Falls or in his house in Mossdeep.
