As we draw nearer and nearer to the release of Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, The Pokémon Company has released a video showcasing new footage of the games starring Shokotan. The five minute long video features Primal Kyogre in a double battle, a look at Mega Rayquaza, a run down of the multiple formes Deoxys can take and a brief recap of the Shiny Beldum event that will be available to players when the games release.

I’m the type of guy who’s obsessed about balance. I feel bad that the unknown new Megas weren’t shown quickly like this. You know. with their names below them and all that. Sure, Mega Act III will show them, but not quickly with their names in the bottom as the announcer says their names out loud.
It’s really not that hard. They said what they meant. XY did the same thing where we had to find the remaining megas. They’ll probably reveal the rest or at least some in the next Corocoro

They most likely learned from their mistakes of having everything leaked too early so plotted on this final corocoro in advance

I love all regions, but Kanto has nothing unique about it. Lavander town is the only place that stands out, but only because of all the creepy pastas

Not really. She’s one of the only actually challenging champions. The others are so easy in comparison. Maybe she’s overhyped, but not really overrated.

Assuming it’s true that you get the Lati after the 5th Gym (and that this screenshot is of the Pokedex after the 5th Gym), this means the Leaker has fought: Roxanne, Brawly, Wattson, Flannery and Norman.
Now there are two very important Pokemon missing from the Dex. These are Voltorb and Numel. Why are they important? Well, Wattson used Voltorb in both R/S, E and the Demo Dumps and Flannery used Numel according to Emerald and the Demo Dumps. But they are missing from the Dex, while if this is image is after the 5th gym you should have fought Wattson and Flannery, thus fighting the supposed Voltorb and Numel.
This could mean 2 things assuming this picture is Legit.
1) The Gym Leaders may have other teams then the teams of the Demo Dumps.
2) The Demo isn’t final.

Famitsu has delivered the first review for Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, awarding both games a 37/40. Three of the four panel members have the game a 9/10, while one of the panel members gave the game a perfect 10/10. Unfortunately, this does not surpass XY’s score of 39/40 and BW’s score of a perfect 40/40. Does this mean that XY is better than ORAS? Not necessarily. But maybe there are aspects present in both XY and ORAS that XY happen to present more efficiently.

XY got 39? Damn. I mean the game was great, surpassed my expectations. But is it better than ORAS? I honestly don’t think so.. But who knows?
XY is like the first step to having main series games on the 3DS, and GF have honestly outdone themselves with XY, sure XY was not as good as some of the features as the other games (For example, the godly stories in BW/2). I consider XY to be like the jack-of-all-trades type game.

I want my playthrough to be as adventurous as possible. That’s why I’m using only pokemon I catch in ORAS. It just doesn’t feel right without my trainer id there.
Using bred pokemon from XY gets rid of the nostalgia of hunting and catching a 5% pokemon in the wild.
Because I don’t want to wait till after gym 5 to have my feebas and 2) I want good natures. Plus why have blaze torchic when you can have speed boost?
But speed boost is better for competitive and makes the main game easier.
Well ultimately it’s going to be easy no matter what. The gyms might be a little harder in this region, but nothing I can’t handle.

I think Sinnoh was up there for me as being one of the best. It’s where I really started to learn about Pokemon as opposed to just battling. Like building a team where a fire type didn’t have: Fire Blast, Flamethrower, Fire Punch, Double Kick (That was my actual Blaziken) (I mean starting in Yellow at the age of 4, beat the Elite 4 somehow)
Gen IV also introduced some of my favourite Pokemon: Lucario, Gallade, Garchomp (to name a few). It won’t be for a while, but I hope that remakes are already being developed
I agree. Sinnoh is where my 7 year old self was stuck because I couldn’t figure out how to get out of my house.

The thing is, a Pokémon game is never known for its graphic.
The 3DS is behind the PSVita in processing power, that’s for sure, but the reason why the 3DS outsold the Vita is because it has more good games. Seriously, the last generation of Pokémon were pixelated, why complain about the graphic now?
Graphics are the logical next step to the game when they are put on a stronger system.. they are improving and it seems they are doing their best for the 3ds
Graphics advancement is logical for the game SYSTEM, we’re talking about the GAMES. If the Pokémon game’s gameplay is excellent, and the graphic is eye-pleasing, then there is no need for a longer production period/cost for the games. XY were the first 3D Pokémon games, and they did a pretty good job, seeing how it sold over 12 mil copies.

Pokemon has always been a high end game. They pour a ton of money into 3D models and sprites. Vita games do look good. Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth is a good example. The Vita has a OLED which makes graphics pop. I have been known that the Vita’s games look good… well sometimes. If OR/AS was on the Vita; conceptual on paper it would look better due to the OLED screen and power. Yet, the game already looks good on the 3DS due to GameFreak knowing how to use a system properly. I get your statement but a lot of people rather go with the 3DS graphics due to them being native. Also, its a Nintendo-Based website; of course you were going to get a fire storm. You should have expected this.

I think 3DS looks better mostly because I’m biased and do personally love the 3DS graphics, but Vita is good as well.
lul. This is funny. The Vita has some nice looking games such as AC, Persona 4 Golden, Freedom Wars and the upcoming Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth. The 3DS is obviously weaker than the Vita but has some nice looking games. Vita games will only looker a tad bit better because of the OLED screen and more power. The New 3DS will highly break that. Due to it’s power increase.

The graphics look better than X/Y. X/Y was quite dull in colours. Hoenn improved that with saturation. Having a older GBA in 3D graphics is impressive. Also, PS Vita’s graphics aren’t amazing either.

None confirmed yet… the starters will be and possible a couple others but i think most new ones will be left till post game with a few of them possibly requiring soar.
I wouldn’t be shocked if all revealed mega stones will be given before the post game.

I hardly count a near perfect as graded harshly. I thought this game was one point away from prefect. Most sites don’t give games a 10 unless they blow their minds. They most just go at the end of the day it didn’t shock them with amazingness.

I do think that is legit, maybe not that many points but I remember that was a massive turn off for me when first playing Ruby and Sapphire. No I understand completely it’s just the idea that too much water. It’s HOENN that’s what Hoenn has. And like I said the originals got a much higher score of 9.5
Yah but they were reviewed by another person. As a Pokemon fan maybe you never played hoenn and you don’t know what you were getting into. Or maybe you hopped the nerfed the amount of water you had to surf in. I know I was really hoping they would do that.
Water routes are exciting.
for you, I personally never enjoyed water routes. I hate running into the same pokemon over and over and over.
So buy a shit ton of max repels. Simple as that. Like holy cow. That’s all I do, I stock up on the essentials before I head out. The water passages bother me not, because I’m smart enough to buy the appropriate supplies to keep wild Pokemon at bay if I don’t want to run into them. 🙂
In Ruby and sapphire that was a much more annoying process with lots of menu clicks. The thing is you can’t tell a person how to play the game and how to enjoy things. When I play OR/AS i’ll make good use of repels. I personally wouldn’t take so many points of if a bullet point was “too much water” that is insanely stupid to think that wouldn’t be the reaction. Guess what it’s getting him a ton more hits and he is cashing a nice big pay check for everyone getting mad, no one will remember that the dude wrote the review but he will remember his pay check.
IGN is supposed to decide what everyone likes. That’s why they are so famous. But they don’t do a great job with taking everyone’s opinion into consideration, hence the word “biased”.
No, IGN reviewer is payed to write what he liked. He could make a note others may like it. However, if he doesn’t enjoy it he has to assume others may also not enjoy it. That is how reviewing for any gamesite works. No one could write an objective review because we all take in games differently.
I wouldn’t do that if I worked for IGN, I would write it considering popular opinion.
What is popular opinion, then why even write a review. Why not just write “Pokemon OR/AS, it’s a remake of ruby and sapphire, play it maybe if you like that, it’s popular but is not the most popular pokemon game according to sales data. So this is not the best game but this is a game. “

I think they may have been embargoed from talking about delta ep looking at the reviews. I wonder if the surprising stuff is the stuff we know about. A lot of People working in games media don’t actually keep up with game news.

I think reviews should only cover things like graphics, game play, interface and ease of use, characters and story.
Thing as specific as ‘too much water’ is subjective and I like reviews to not take that approach. People are more than welcome to give opinions like that, but they shouldn’t be included in reviews

Also saying the location is a tropical region then complaining about water is like saying a jungle setting has too many trees.
Hoenn is an Island lol- what do they expect? I love that post game content was a positive in the review though… it makes me hopeful for Battle Frontier.
Maybe it is for Delta Episode.
In the review he mentions a need to train well past the main game…. that screams Battle Frontier or at least some sort of battle facility. The positive mention will of course be relating to the Delta Episode too though.
It could be EP delta ramps up the difficulty and we know rematchs are a thing.

Well it is is not there it will be a real missed opportunity and a very big error on GF’s part especially given the fact that they added a BF to HGSS and Hoenn already had one.
In other words reviews shouldn’t be personal opinions, but collective views from experienced people about the game.

How do you know the collective won’t hate surfing all over and fighting tentracool all day? I know me and a lot of my friends didn’t like it. So by my limited polling I would have to take points off for water assuming it was the same.
How do you not include an opinion in a review? Simply saying a game is good is an opinion. I’ll have a go at an objective review for you all.

then look at news and don’t even bother looking at information about reviews. A review exists to give a player context. Knowing something is new and if it actually is good are two other things. Someone could tell me all the facts about Sonic Boom and I would say “sounds good” they could mention “Glitches exist” but without context I could be like “all sonic games have glitches” so i’d buy it only to find I wasted 60 dollars on utter shit.

7.9 seems like a decent rating for ORAS from IGN.
They put a lot of thought into all of their reviews, so this is no different.
Keep in mind they can’t give it a 10/10 just because “Hoenn is bae” or even for nostalgia.
They see things a lot differently than we do, that’s their job. Writing reviews requires in-depth research into every part of a game, which is something we as ordinary gamers do not normally look into.
HMs in this game and field moves overall are definitely more overwhelming than XY.
