A new trailer has been uploaded to the official Japanese Pokémon channel on YouTube and spotlights the Super Secret Base feature of Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire. We’re currently translating the details below:

- You’ll get to visit secret bases of people you’ve connected with online, and scout them to become part of your team, like Join Avenue
- Some berries are seen on routes
- You can turn your secret base into a gym

I wonder, it might be already disconfirm we, but could the flags serve a similar purpose like in DP as well? Like you collect more and you have the power to expand your base (by breaking the rocks)

Is it just me or do the graphics look at little blurry? Like the outline of the pokedolls and trainers aren’t very crisp. Is it because it’s not quite done yet?

Is anybody else concerned about the gym lackey replicas? Like, what are they meant to be exactly? Wax statues? Blow-up dolls? .__.
I think they might be just a stature placeholder to indicate where your Gym leader would stand for challengers
They’re trainers you can place in your base to train or for your “gym”.
I totally see that subreddit coming where everyone can show off their gym just like the Friend Safari one… 🙂

So how do you think the gyms will work? You have a NPC stand in your spot in your secret base, when someone challenges, as long as you’re online anywhere in the game, you get a challenge request, then if you say yes, you use pokemon from your Gym Box?
I think you can use your friend’s team as gym NPCs.
Nah, they’ll use be some trainers that have a fixed roster based on your friends’ team at the time of meeting them. I think you even have to initiate combat with them yourselves (a bit like visiting someone else’s base in RSE).
Watching Pokemon Origins makes me want Pokemon to be real even more

That option is exclusive to Kalos/XY, just like how Secret Bases are exclusive to ORAS. Every game has their little unique thing.
You’d think it’s something they’d implement in every iteration of Pokemon after XY.. Oh well. I don’t customize my character all that much anyways
Well we can definitely count on it returning in the zygarde based game. It’s just these are full-on remakes so they want us to play with the original brendan/may.

Not for ORAS. It’s such an important and game-changing feature though that I’d be surprised if it’s not implemented in Gen 7 and beyond.

CoroCoro has done this once before. That time they just announced previously announced characters.
