The new trailer reveals game footage for several gyms in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, as well as Mega Metagross and some Pokémon Contest information!
Steven and Mega Metagross
As we previously reported, Steven has been confirmed for the Champion of the Hoenn region in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. He still uses Steel-type Pokémon, including a Metagross that is able to Mega Evolve thanks to his Mega Stickpin.
Mega Metagross is perfect for both offensive and defensive styled battles. Gaining boosts in Attack, Defense, Special Attack and Special Defense. The Pokémon also receives a significant boost to Speed when it Mega Evolves. All of this is topped off with the Mega Pokémon’s Tough Claws ability.
Mega Diancie
Further details on Mega Diancie have also been revealed. The Pokémon will receive boosts to its Speed, Attack and Special Attack when Mega Evolving, but will also have decreased Defense and Special Defense stats.
Other Details
The Official Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire site has updated with a ton of new screenshots and information, mostly consolidating what we learnt from the latest issue of CoroCoro; some details on Gym Leaders, Professor Birch and more has also been added though!

1) I love Sydney’s room. I’m not sure if maybe that’s a new terrain move or just how it looks, but I’m in love with it.
2) You can see the door behind Phoebe, confirming that E4 is order based. You can’t choose.

For those 5 spaces, I’m not counting Mega Lati@s cause they are in X and Y’s coding. So they aren’t exactly new to ORAS. To not put Blaziken in the boxes would be odd.

I think Gym Leaders should use Megas in our rematches with them. If they were to implement Megas for gym leaders in the main story, they would have to limit them to late game leaders, thus making it unfair for early game leaders.
I would not like to try and take down a Mega Manectric that early on with my poor Combusken. It would be nearly impossible, although you might have a chance with Marshtomp xD

Orlando is one of the entertainment capitols of the world. The theme parks and their rides aren’t cheap as a result of that. It’s extremely safe and secure. I don’t think I’ve heard of anyone be in danger riding on a coaster here in my life.

Diancie will most definitely be good imo. A lot of legends are dragon as we all know, and reshiram and dialga are the only ones who take normal damage(dialga is a beast).It’s speed before and after megaing sounds like it’ll provide two different ways to take on pesky dragons.

NPC In Geosenge in XY says “Evolutionary Stones & Mega Stones have some kind of connection” – and out of the 36 mega’s we have now, none of them previously evolved from stones. Hence why Gardevoir got a mega and Gallade didn’t (dawn stone). Hence why Pikachu/Raichu (most popular pokemon) didn’t get a mega (thunder stone)

I personally think so. Hoopa’s backstory event says it has a secret power where its rings can grow miles long, and Volcanion’s back story also talks of it using its secret power to shape continents. Both have 600 base stats like Diancie did.

If megas are given to shiftry and Sharpedo then as a fan I would like for Ludicolo and Camerupt to get one as they are cross game related. But seriously the way I see GF doing a mega for then will be that one of the two version exclusives will get a mega and mixing the relationship.
Eg ruby mega Shiftry but in sapphire instead of mega ludicolo get a mega sharpedo.
Sharpedo and Camerupt are definitely getting them. Archie and Maxie have mega stones. But the other two, I don’t think would anyways. But ya never know.

feature. A generic background will be displayed during the battle.
The two bikes return – Mach and Acro.
Swampert and Sceptile will have Mega Evolutions. 17 new added . Not including the Eon Duo.
You can pick a Generation 2 starter mid-game ( at the 4th
gym roughly ) each with a new Mega Evolution.

Then there’s Sidney who will most likely have a Mega Absol, and Phoebe who will either have Mega Sableye or Mega Banette. Even possibly Mega Dusknoir but we can’t be too sure.
This is all assuming what Sidney has on his bracelet is indeed a Mega Stone, and if Phoebe does indeed have a Mega Stone behind her ankle bracelet.

While that is true, it is also true that Mega Stones come from evolutionary stones, in which case wouldn’t make sense for stone evolution Pokemon to get Megas.
But trust me, I HOPE this theory is completely wrong and GF overlooks it, I WANT ME A MEGA CHANDELURE ;_;

It is a very legit theory.
Mega Stones are to Evolutionary Stones like Entei, Raikou, and Suicune, are to Flareon, Jolteon, and Vaproeon: Hyped up versions. So it’s theorized that Raichu is basically Pikachu’s mega evo and so on.

There are 134 Hoenn pokemon, 73 of which are final evolutions. 14/73 is hardly any at all. Bring on some more

X/Y gave us this gift and we’re abusing it
Well if they’ve really done away with cross gen evos, then a lot of Hoenn pokemon could use megas that could’ve had real evos, like chimeco, zangoose, seviper, kecleon, tropius, etc. Megas are awesome but also suck at the same time. Kinda wish they had only been applied to pokemon that were fully evolved but still aren’t good. So pokemon like Altaria and Flygon and what have you.
14/73 is 19% which i nearly 1/5, which is a lot when Gen 5 has 0% or 0/100 for simplicity

OK. I think it’s time to tackle this now that things have calmed down.
I’m not entirely sure what happened earlier today, or even why. But I do know that not only did I not like it, other staff and other individuals did not either. The entire active staff team works incredibly hard to keep the site running smoothly. A lot of our readers don’t see most of the work that goes on behind the scenes simply because we don’t talk about that with many people, only a few readers who we’ve personal friendships with.
Seeing visitors call us lazy, or claiming that we don’t do work is a little hurtful. Suggesting that we get others to do our work for us is even more of an insult, not only to us but to the people who take time out of their personal lives to write content. Not for us. Not for them. For you. To read.
You’re more than happy to feel an article is too long, or say that you don’t want to read it. But have a little respect for the writer of a piece. Seeing people completely ignoring what your article is about without even reading it is a massive kick in the teeth. That’s all also part of an underlying issue of how the comments sections on article are used (more on this another time). They’re there to compliment the article. Not for use as a chatroom, or a social network. We have a chat and forums specificaly for that. Use them.
I could continue writing and bringing up numerous points of concern, but I’ll stop there. All I ask is that readers start showing a little respect not only to each other but to the staff and the content all of us put out. We’re incredibly lenient in dealing with our readers, but if this sort of behaviour continues we will change that in an instant.
On a final note: DefensiveBastiodon does not write articles because the staff are too lazy to do so. No one will ever do that for us. I have never asked him to write something, and I never will. He approached me about writing something and initially wrote the first post for Road to ORAS without me even being aware. Suggesting that we have subordinates to do work for us is insulting, and you’ve upset inidviduals in doing so. Apologies are more than welcome.

This is very well said. One of the reasons I’ve come back to hopefully become a regular is because I’m constantly told about the community aspect of PokéJungle. I do firmly believe we can all get along and share our love for Pokémon without the need for anything unnecessary.

I actually asked if he’d mind setting up two posts for me when I couldn’t access the publishing tools properly. One for Road to ORAS and the other was a tournament post. All I wanted was a title and categories selected. He wrote in a whole article for Road to ORAS without even asking.

Technically Porygon is a computer Programme, so it’s just code, and honestly nothing is stopping them from uploading a ‘patch’ onto an artificially ‘stone’ and voila, Mega Porygon Z

I was 9years old. I had a team of Mews and Mewtwos in pokemon Gold. One day I was bragging in primary school about them. Then disaster struck…. My Gameboy colour fell…. I frantically turned it on…. And then it happened. New Game. No continue just New game.

I was wondering what you thought of these. Earlier, I said that the E4 rooms from XY make them seem a bit bland. But, I guess that’s the beauty of it. – You stop your friend and become a hero
– Your friend decides to go on an adventure to find true happiness and what his purpose is in life while you set out to become the champion

I respectfully disagree. Mega Evolutions are a part of the game now, and I think it’s only fair that they expand it as the generations go on. And that’s part of the beauty of Pokémon, it allows you to tailor your journey to your own desires. With over 700 Pokémon for six spots on a team, it allows for as much or as little creativity as the player wants.
I think think there’s a give and take situation with Mega Pokemon. I do think games (including X and Y) should (have, for X and Y) only introduce(d) a few, as in one to two Mega Pokemon, not twenty to forty!

I honestly think that you’ll only be able to dress up Pikachu. You know how much work and effort it would take to customize every outfit to properly fit each Pokemon? I see it as a feature like Furfrou, as you can only groom Furfrou, and will just be used as a hype thing to promote the contests.

Did you guys discuss on the fact that Shiftry learns Leaf Blade now as shown in the trailer? I just checked Serebii, Leaf Blade is not a move it can normally learn, not even through tutor or egg move. 😮

One of the minor things I noticed but something that has me excited is that Shiftry used Leaf Blade a move he doesn’t naturally learn!
So either he will learn it through level up or by breeding, which would be a big plus since imo it is the best physical Grass move in the game (90 BP with no drawbacks and a boosted critical hit chance), or it is going to be a move tutor move, or possibly a TM!
I expect it to just be a move he learns by giving him a heart scale to remember but still I’m happy.
Shiftry will probably now be my 1st or 2nd Grass pokemon I use in a team on Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire.
What the heck is the point of giving mega evolutions to already mad powerful pokemon? Metagross, Tyranitar, Garchomp and other pokemon like them are already pretty bloody tough without giving them super forms.
