acro-or-mach-bikeI’m back! Finals finally ended, and I have three full months to recover and start to work again on some of my projects. Keep an eye out for a PJM re-reveal very soon, I haven’t dropped it and it will come back better than ever!

Today’s question is more in line with the previous question of Aqua vs. Magma and seeing as Hoenn actually got confurmed, it has all the more reason to exist. So, Acro bike or Mach bike. What was your favourite bike in RSE? And which mechanic did you like the most, cycling up slopes or jumping on rails? Did you prefer speed or would you rather perform acrobatics?   6. I’m guessing the Acro Bike will get more tricks in replacement of the skates.. I want the skates to return though, but ehhh

    • I personally want skates to go away, along with the Friend Safari, higher shiny chances, and chain fishing. Basically everything that X and Y introduced other than 3D models and the Fairy-type.

        • I don’t care what anybody thinks, chain fishing and the Friend Safari’s increased shiny chances are an insult to fans who put days of their life into hunting them in past games. My opinion will stand as such.

          • Well, even with higher chances of shiny, I, and I’m sure many other, STILL have to STRUGGLE to get shiny Pokemon. It’s not like people get one everyday (unless you’re Heavy).

          • I would suggest trying to chain fish:
            Have a Pokemon with Sticky Hold ability in first slot. (guaranteed encounter)
            Have a pokemon with smoke ball, you can run away and it won’t break the chain.
            Keep fishing until those sparkles appear.
            Or try hordes. Just have a pokemon with Sweet Scent.
            Or run persistently in the safari.
            Or hatch eggs like I do. XD

          • I understand that great luck is still involved, but the overall and average frequency of the encounters is just too high now. It’s just not the same to me anymore…

          • Which made real shiny hunters feel proud for braving the 1/8192 chances on their own XD ah never mind, my personal feelings can’t accurately be shared over typing anyway. It’s just how I feeeeeeeeeeeel

          • Yes, feel proud about the deed that you do, and concern not for others, because your shiny is the result of your real effort. Even 1/4096 is just another way of saying 2/8192.

          • I can’t change your opinion. But I’m quite sure the people that were hunting for shiny Pokemon loved the increases and new ways to find them. It makes their life easier.

      • I highly disagree. Chain fishing is optional, you don’t have to do it, but it’s there if you want to. Friend Safari I could see that, but I want it to stay (because it encourages the exchange of FC), albeit with a huge, more safari-like expansion. I don’t mind about the disappearance of skates, but having them would be nice.

        Maybe the shiny stuff. Because it still didn’t work for me.

      • The skates were a great addition imo, but it would be better if it was optional. I would hate holding down he B button until I get the bike.. Friend Safari was cool for the Hidden Abilities, Higher shiny chances were.. Well, convenient. Chain fising, not something I really care about. xD

      • So you’re saying you don’t want PSS, Amie, Super training, trainer customization, Sitting on benches XD, walking diagonally, passing down up to 5iv’s with destiny knot, restraunts, Taxi’s,Random jobs for money, battle chatueau, Riding on Pokemon to not return ??

  8. If they would remove Horde Encounters, EV training would be a huge pain in the hind quarters.. Though, I couldn’t see why they would remove it but it is Pokemon. Inconsistent with features every damn generation -.-

  9. You guys noticed how all the benders, depending on what type of bender you are, belong to a certain race? Water benders are like Indians, Air benders are Asians, Fire benders look European and Earth benders are…. Chinese?

  12. So how many shinies have I ever encountered unintentionally? (MM, Radar, Chain Fish and intentional Safari use for shinies doesn’t count.)
    Gen 3: 0
    Gen 4: 0
    Gen 5: 0
    Gen 6: 6 (4 hordes, 1 egg hatch, 1 friend safari)

    I dunno… Friend Safari seems to be pretty rare enough for me. I mean… I only saw a grand total of 1 shiny going through FS a lot (and I also accidentally killed that Purple Spritzee too)

    • I’ve also only seen 1 unintentional (unless you count shinies you aren’t hunting as unintentional while you are hunting one) FS shiny; it so happened to be my first FS encounter ever 😛
      But FS’s are strange, i got my shiny Farfetch’d and shiny Hawlucha within 20 mins, but i’ve been hunting in a Noibat safari for weeks (on and off) and i haven’t encountered a single shiny…

      • FS is weird. I wonder where all the tipping results in more shinies urban legend came from. It sure as hell doesn’t work for me, even in FS where the urban legends say to go to after tipping.

        Anecdote: I don’t believe in my luck. Even in monster hunter, when I WANT an item, it doesn’t appear.

  14. I’m glad that Boomy became an air bender, though. I felt sorry for him that his 2 siblings were benders and he was normal 🙁 Imagine being in that position. That would SUCK!

  21. Trying to explain competitive battling (with my limited knowledge) to my 13 year old brother is extremely hard. He’s still in the mind set that pokemon are only as good as their attack stats. He keeps trying to tell me Shuckle is a bad pokemon. Not with defenses like those! I keep saying it’s good at what it does but he won’t listen to me 😛 I even told him that you could run an offensive Shuckle if you really wanted to. He says bug pokemon suck D: Which is kinda generally true although I still love them

        • Well I did battle him and I actually didn’t build a team but just picked a bunch of random pokemon from my PC and gave them tms and stuff. Just for fun. I still won though xD I’m trying to build a real competitive team now though to beat him! It’s harder than it looks

      • Well in the last battle we had my Wobbuffet finished off his team >:) It was funny! I knew he would use offensive moves so I just used counter and down he came!

          • I’m breeding one now! I’ll show him the power of quiver dance! (He doesn’t believe in stat-boosting moves even though I constantly rave about how awesome quiver dance is)

    • Mabye stall is not his style. Perhaps he just likes running Hyper Offense.
      If it’s Singles and he uses Stealth Rock he’s kind of already set.

      If you wall his Pokemon with Shuckle, he’ll probably believe you.
