Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Trailer and Details

Nintendo’s Digital E3 was broadcast earlier today and with it the company has shared a handful of details relating to new Pokémon games. Below you can find our coverage of the news, expect more throughout the day with in depth coverage just around the corner!

Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire

And full trailer has been shown for Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, showing Hoenn completely remade with 3D environments. Launching worldwide on November 21 in the US and November 28 in Europe!

In Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Kyogre and Groudon are able undergo a process known as Primal Reversion. This allows the two Pokémon to revert into Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon, and allows them to draw back power from nature and gain an even larger power boost. When undergoing Primal Reversion, Kyogre receives a boost to its Special Attack stat whilst Groudon become Ground/Fire type and gains a boosted Attack stat. Both Pokémon also seem to gain a boost to their abilities, although it’s not possible to confirm this yet.

Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will bring players even closer to discovering the secrets behind Mega Evolution, with players seeking out Pokémon capable of Mega Evolving and unlocking their incredible potential. More Mega Stones are said to be hidden across the Hoenn region. It also appears that there may be a link between Mega Evolution and Primal Reversion.

Below are a selection of screenshots and artwork showing the updated Hoenn region and the two legendary Pokémon undergoing Primal Reversion.

  1. I thought that by now Game Freak would stop using ice/clouds to hide parts of map. Part of me feels like they’re hiding something big but also they could be trolling us with false hope for a Battle Frontier

    • Battle Frontier will definitely be in the game xD The clouds are covering where the Battle Tower was in R/S, but I expect it will be the full Frontier like from Emerald

  3. So…do you think Groudon and Kyogre are using Eruption and Water Spout respectively or are those new (hopefully signature) moves?

  4. So, Maxie and Archie have Mega devices. Will they be used for Groudon and Kyogre….or are one of their Pokemon getting a new Mega :O

Maxie’s team was Mightyena, Crobat, Camerupt.
Archie’s team was the same, except for Sharpedo instead of Camerupt…

  5. So far we have these megaevolutions:

    12 Kanto
    5 Johto
    12 Hoenn (+2)
    3 Sinnoh
    0 Unova
    1 Kalos

It looks like we already have enough Hoenn megaevolutions but they can do anything.
