Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Trailer and Details

Nintendo’s Digital E3 was broadcast earlier today and with it the company has shared a handful of details relating to new Pokémon games. Below you can find our coverage of the news, expect more throughout the day with in depth coverage just around the corner!

Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire

And full trailer has been shown for Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, showing Hoenn completely remade with 3D environments. Launching worldwide on November 21 in the US and November 28 in Europe!

In Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Kyogre and Groudon are able undergo a process known as Primal Reversion. This allows the two Pokémon to revert into Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon, and allows them to draw back power from nature and gain an even larger power boost. When undergoing Primal Reversion, Kyogre receives a boost to its Special Attack stat whilst Groudon become Ground/Fire type and gains a boosted Attack stat. Both Pokémon also seem to gain a boost to their abilities, although it’s not possible to confirm this yet.

Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will bring players even closer to discovering the secrets behind Mega Evolution, with players seeking out Pokémon capable of Mega Evolving and unlocking their incredible potential. More Mega Stones are said to be hidden across the Hoenn region. It also appears that there may be a link between Mega Evolution and Primal Reversion.

Below are a selection of screenshots and artwork showing the updated Hoenn region and the two legendary Pokémon undergoing Primal Reversion.

  1. Im presuming the music is the title screen music and will be used basically in every other ORAS trailer now

  2. I really hope Palutena doesn’t do that “call out every single attack I’m using” thing like Ness and Lucas.

  3. It’s only when you remember how the games used to play that you truly appreciate the beauty of the remakes! I’ll definitely be replaying the older versions first it’s been too long since I’ve gone near my Emerald

  4. Why do I call Nick senpai? Why do I call Djja love? Why do I give you guys nicknames? Because that’s me… idk random comment, random brain.

  5. I finished my analysis! If there is an idea here that you mentioned first, cause I got some ideas from here, just comment what idea it was. I might not have seen someone posting it!
Plus, these will have information we already know, but bare with me, I’m just putting it in one place! 😀
    – First screen Starter selection. Top screen- what XY did. Bottom screen- bags with pokeballs on ground (as shown in CoroCoro)
    – Changeable text boxes confirmed? (Colors on the starter selection page tipped me off, and I kinda miss this, really)
    – 1st encounter- Zigzagoon like in original R and S (as shown with Trainer sending out Treecko)
-Torchic/Treecko/Mudkip sendouts shown battle environment changes depending on area (kinda had this in XY but was generic and not different in every area, cities in battle mode looked the same. ORAS shows more differences)
    – Capturing mechanic seems to be the same as XY
    – As I said below, maybe badges will be outlined before sendout and get filled in after you beat them (if rebattles come back, maybe it will show the full badge)
    – No 3D models for regular Trainers/Champion/E4/Gym Leaders again?! (sad face)
    – Also bottom text from Nintendo shows some areas will be 3D, but mostly in 2D like XY D:
    – Once again, with Roxanne, will text boxes design change? :O
    – PUDDLES! (that;s all I can saw for the route)
    – Mr. Briney’s ship! Wingull flying might be random Pokemon or Peeko (most likely Peeko, so at least we’ll see him/her! :D)
    – Fortree city revamped!
    – Cycling Road and Route beneath it revamped and look different! Water also looks different than in XY
    – Might be Tate and Liza’s Gym due to Psychic Trainers and Psychic feel with orbs and light aura. Would the teleporting be back? Is this one room or one room of multiples?
    – Flannery’s Gym! Has steam coming up from random formations, holes that fall through, and what looks like Fire Tamers. Big indicator is the steam
    – Steven in area that cannot be named. Has tiny waterfalls in the background, though. Maybe early in the game?
-Magma and Aqua hideouts! 😀 Magma looks to be sciency (pipes of lava, logo being of light. Aqua looks more nature based and piratey (ripped flag, sapphires and rock)
    – Maxie looks cool, collected (unlike volcanoes and lava) with Mega Glasses 😀
    – Archie is more vicious like a pirate captian, Mega Necklace (unlike water, sometimes)
    – Both qualities are shown through their expressions and the way they send out their Pokemon
    – 3D models for them, so maybe Evil team/rivals/important people get them? (Like XY)
    – Devolution scene looks crysstallized, connected with Orbs? Maybe with the correct orbs this time, since K is blue and G is red.
    – In CoroCoro, I thought that was their Devolution scene, but looks like moves in proper screenshots. Maybe new, exclusive moves? Screenshots above in article show Pokemon getting hit.
    – Random Pokemon flying in Route, common staple in ORAS?
    – Is the Pokemart and Pokecenter separated? Indicated by blue building. If it is, maybe Pokemart and Clothes stores will combine?
    – Cave of Origins explanation by Steven? (I know it was Wallace in E, but I dunno for R and S) Changes depending on version. Would they mention Rayquaza and other legendary in the explanation or just exclusive legendary?
    – Map now! Clouded region- New area, like Sevii Islands in FRLG? Or Battle Frontier? Shadowed part at top- reference to next Pokemon game? Leads to event/other legendaries? Deoxys area? Will the new islands in new map be new parts or are they decoration?
If you guys have anything else to add, just comment, and I will edit this! 😀

  6. I’m so cross at the release date for European releases being later!!!! I don’t think its fair…what ever happened to worldwide releases…Nintendo may lose money here…..

      • yep haha! Actually I will refine my statement above, I’m not cross I feel disappointed….we have gone 3 steps forward and 5 steps back….

    • Sam, many many of the UK releases were earlier in the UK, i think just one week is fair. GF could have released XY in japan months before the UK/US but they didn’t for the fans… We shouldn’t forget the amount of time the world had to wait for localised versions… XY was just to kickstart Gen 6, no bigger reason for an international release at the same time 😀

      • Isn’t this game also for fans though? GF/Nintendo set the bar high before, and now they set it too high and this is why this fuss has angered people….some people will get the games for nostalgia, I know 10 people who are getting them cause of nostalgia and who want to get back into it….I think this release will speak for itself financially when figures come out….

  7. Mega Camerupt. I can imagine a Camerupt slightly aged, with lava flowing out of the humps on its back.
Ability – Incinerate – Turn Normal moves to fire type moves.

Mega Sharpedo – Just a bigger shark, sharper teeth, maybe some scars on its body
Ability – Hydrate – Turns Normal moves into water type moves.

  8. Bromance moment:
“Did you tell me to stop talking?
    “Uhhh, ummm, I-I-I”
    “Focus on the game?”
    “Right!” :3

  9. Late November/December the comments section will be looking like this:

“Anyone here have a grass friend safari with Grovyl? I have a fire one with Combusken, Quilava, & Camerupt”.

“Does anyone here know how to make mirage island appear?”

“Me and my friend both beat elite 4 and signed on to PSS but his secret base isn’t appearing, is there something else I have to do?”

“I’m trading my 5IV Shiny Hoenn Born Spinda for other Hoenn Born Pokemon”

“Does anyone know how I can find Walreinite? The tides are low on my game, or do they have to be high tides?”
