‘Delta Emerald’ Trademarked in Japan

In a surprising bit of news, it has come to light that Nintendo trademarked デルタエメラル (Delta Emerald) in Japan. This is most likely just to cover their bases and make sure the name is reserved because of its similarity to the announced Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire remakes coming to the Nintendo 3DS in November 2014. Other Pokémon-themed names have been trademarked before and Nintendo has also purchased a range of .com domain names for games that would never actually exist. Don’t get your hopes up 😉  This was discovered by a 2ch user and the thread can be viewed on Hachima Kikou.

Even so, this is sure to draw some speculation from the fandom at large 😉

  1. Wouldn’t everything move very slow if someone used trick room?
We are moving through space at very fast speed.

However, there is no limit to numbers, so wouldn’t everything’s speed decrease? As there are no stats in the human world.

    • Numbers aren’t physical though, it’s something created by humanity to try and imagine how fast everything is, how many, etc.

    • So there is no ‘middle’ to determine if speed should be raised or decreased. No opposite. All trick room would really do would halve or double speed randomly.

      • BUT STATS STILL DON’T EXIST IN THE HUMAN WORLD, SO IT WOULD DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
You can’t double or halve zero, can you?
Zero isn’t ‘nonexistant’ or is it?
        NUMBERS DON’T EXIST.

        Remember this….

          • Yes, but that doesn’t determine defense, the special stats. or HP.
Numbers also go on forever, so there would be no saying what trick room would do if it were used in the real world.
Would humans be randomly sped up or slowed down?
There are so many other moves I could think about, but this is the most interesting one.

    • Work on ORAS started right after HGSS released. Gamefreak worked together with Nintendo on the 3DS to implement a certain ‘secret sauce’. This was implemented in the 3DS hardware but due to software development delays couldn’t be unlocked in XY yet. It’s now ready to be used in ORAS.
What it exactly pertains to is to be revealed at E3.

      • Hey Dae, weren’t you working on an article about the possibilities of the Emerald storyline showing up in ORAS or am I crazy? If you were, are we gonna be able to read it? 😮

        • I was working on an article that discussed the transition from RBY->FRLG and GSC->HGSS and how to relates to RSE->ORAS. It’s on hold currently as I have finals until June 27th.
After that I plan to put it in the revival of PJMagazine, which will be free so everyone can read it :).

  2. What do you guys think is the worst dragon type and why (no legendaries or pre evolutions)
I think Altaria because most others can do what Altaria does and faster

  3. I heard a rumour that Steven in ORAS will be a Mega Evolution researcher. Apparently he will give you the mega stone for your starter Pokémon. If this is true then we will get Mega Sceptile and Mega Swampert. But I think you need 3 Gym Badges first though.
