Pokémon has just announced that Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will be released in November 2014 for the Nintendo 3DS. Not much more is known. Below is what the official site posted in their announcement:
Announcing Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems! Prepare for an epic adventure exploring a world filled with Pokémon!
Pokémon fans first enjoyed Pokémon Ruby Version and Pokémon Sapphire Version when it launched in 2003 for the Game Boy Advance. Now, a whole new generation of Pokémon fans will experience the dramatic storyline that unfolds in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire.
Look forward to Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire when the games launch worldwide in November 2014!
These games will be released in November world wide as confirmed by the Japanese announcement. The Japanese mini-site is kind of cool, by the way.

definitely mega stones.
diancie is based off morganite. All the mega stones end with “ite” or “nite” just like morganite (the pink diamond). Morganite is in the same family as emerald.
There also 2 other gem stones in this gem family. Heliodor, and Aquamarine. Heliodor (Greek) is a brilliant gold (color of shiny groudon). The fact it has greek origin, and that Alpha and Omega are A and Z in the greek alphabet implies that all 3 will be getting mega evolutions/mega stones. jade orb/blueorb/red orb will be replaced with groudonite, rayquazanite, and kyogreite.

Aquamarine – Kyogre
Emerald – Rayquaza/Zygarde

Assuming they are megas. And Fairy seems pretty plausible, seeing as Mega Kyogre is glowing, although it did become darker, so Water/Dark is another possibility.

As @Timo:disqus suggested, here are some of the things I think were wrong in X/Y:
-Bland plot
-After the 4th Gym nothing was really challenging, trainer levels & AI didn’t change much as you progress through the game
-Only 3 other characters use Megas, you have an unfair advantage over the rest
-No regular Safari

has any one notice the choice of words are ‘discover a new world’ rather than ‘return to’ maybe there will be no honen or maybe there’s a twist somewhere
Who knows what if the game revolves around a New Front in both Magma and Aqua already like a gazillion steps ahead and they already awoken both Groudon and Kyogre and they’re quarreling and during the quarrel they inadvertently created a new gigantic landmass
The official Pokemon website aways twists things. In the past they stated mega mewtwo y and the Kyurem forms were “new pokemon”. Also not everyone has played 3rd generation so it is a new world for some Pokemon fans.
This better mean that Sceptile and Swampert get mega evolutions!
