Pokémon has just announced that Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will be released in November 2014 for the Nintendo 3DS. Not much more is known. Below is what the official site posted in their announcement:

Pokémon fans first enjoyed Pokémon Ruby Version and Pokémon Sapphire Version when it launched in 2003 for the Game Boy Advance. Now, a whole new generation of Pokémon fans will experience the dramatic storyline that unfolds in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire.
Look forward to Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire when the games launch worldwide in November 2014!
These games will be released in November world wide as confirmed by the Japanese announcement. The Japanese mini-site is kind of cool, by the way.

There highly would be character customization. Why remove a great feature from X & Y. Remember is a Hoenn remake with lots of tweaks. Expect a lot!
I think Brendan or May should be base characters similar to Xavier and Yvonne. You start off as them but you can go to shops, buy clothes and customize them.

I doubt they would replace May as Crystal only appeared in well.. Crystal and was only ever in an anime special and had a few cameos…May is much more known as a protagonist so i can’t see her being replaced….if someone was replaceable it would be Brendan since he is less known. But i don’t think they will replace the protagonists this time around.
She is, like, dah smartest female protag. Her and Misty.
Anime wise i suppose this is true but simply going by the games she appeared in R/S and Emerald and had a 4 season long arc in the anime with a 5 ep return arc in Sinnoh so she is well liked and it would be silly to replace her. It’s just a shame she is unlikely to make a return in the anime since her voice actress is unwell.

xD I love people’s reactions to Hoenn being confirmed. I was on the bus and started calling a late April Fools, hyperventilating. Then I spammed main menu til I saw this. Then I passed my phone to my friend a couple rows up, and she smiled and giggled and asked, “Is this real?!” I nodded frantically and we both splurged into happiness. This morning, I walked up and hugged my friend, and she’s like, “What?”. Then my BFF walked up and I hugged him and went “OMGOMGOMGOMG OIVYHADOI YAY!”. Then we told her the news and she smiled and was like, “Woah!”. It’s great what Hoenn does to people.
Friend #2 is a different person than Friend #1.
I was in English class and kept repeating “No Way.” “This can’t be real” while proceeding to use my data to watch the “Trailer” then i got all happy and excited. I looked around the room and realized i have very few friends that like pokemon, PLUS most of the class was taking the optional AP test so they weren’t there. With the recent news, it’s highly probable that Groudon and Kyogre will probably get mega-evolutions or new forms. The “Never before seen Pokemon” caption under the boxarts points out the obvious. They used the same caption for Mega-Mewtwo and black and white Kyurem.
Most people are saying that the Pokemon on the box art are Megas.
Remember, Kyurem’s forms had similar designs and the glowing marks but they were called “Hyperactive.” My theory is that Groudon and Kyogre will enter “Hyperactive” mode and then after that, Mega-evolve. Game Freak is smart enough to tease us with this image and let us speculate whether they are just altercations or Mega-evolutions altogether. However, the boxarts don’t look anything like a Mega-evolution, more like a “Hyperactive.”
Then again, Mega evolutions didn’t exist in gen five.

I’m planning on spriting/editing the current sprites of Groudon and Kyogre to match the new forms/megas.
So this is why we only got on eeveelution! Every even numbered gen has showcased TWO eeveelutions and gen 6 only introduced one; Sylveon. If the remakes do introduce new Pokemon, I hope it’s a new eeveelution. Hoping it’s either a Poison or Steel type. The Poison one can have an ability that turns every normal moves into Poison type attacks and the Steel type one can have an ability that allows Steel-type moves to do supereffective damage against Electric types.

We can still get an eeveelution. Say they cut down on the water routes or add more islands, on one of those islands could be the Dragon place that Heavy spoke of. Meaning, we could still get a Dragon eeveelution.
It could have been poison or steel or dragon… Weak to fairy or strong against fairy, seeing how Glaceon vs Leafeon and Espeon vs Umbreon.
Mega-Swampert, Water/Steel, Hydrotize: Allows user to combine water and steel type moves.
Mega-Sceptile, Grass/Dragon or Grass/Poison, Amazonian Purge: Allows user to combine grass types moves with poison type moves.

Water/Steel seems very unlikely and random. I actually thought of water-dark being a possibility because it could be a swamp monster.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Hoenn, it was the second pokemon game I played(First being crystal), but I still don’t see why people are freaking out over it. I know it is a lot of people’s fav generation, but we don’t need to see all of this hype, especially on tumblr. All tumblr is now (in regards to pokemon) is,”OMG OMGGOMGMOG FRIKN GUISES tRUMPETS LOL #kawaii”, and no offense, the meme needs to die now. I think it really gives the fandom a bad name/look. I guess so. I just honestly believe that some of those things weren’t executed correctly. E.G. the whole berry mechanic. people seem to think that was made in Hoenn, breezing over the fact that it was really introduced in Johto but it was limited. I am excited for them, but the whole bashing heads against the wall repeating “TRUMPETS” is pretty annoying.

Gastrodon is better to use competitively TBH. It also nullifies electricity. Another good pokemon to use is Volt Absorb Lanturn. It’s really bulky :3
