Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Announced

Pokémon has just announced that Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will be released in November 2014 for the Nintendo 3DS. Not much more is known. Below is what the official site posted in their announcement:

Announcing Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems! Prepare for an epic adventure exploring a world filled with Pokémon!

Pokémon fans first enjoyed Pokémon Ruby Version and Pokémon Sapphire Version when it launched in 2003 for the Game Boy Advance. Now, a whole new generation of Pokémon fans will experience the dramatic storyline that unfolds in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire.

Look forward to Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire when the games launch worldwide in November 2014!

These games will be released in November world wide as confirmed by the Japanese announcement. The Japanese mini-site is kind of cool, by the way.

ps- Personally I cannot be more excited about these games. I don’t know what a heart attack feels like, but I think I had one when I saw these announced.

  1. This whole confusion over the new games being remakes or not makes me hope that the Gen 4 “remakes” are actually sequels. Because I want to see what happened to Cyrus!

  3. XD So I was going to incorporate my favorite pokemon in one of these. I like one of each type (between 6 and 12), but if I pick Swampert, I would have 2 on either AR or OS. XD Idc, imma get Groudon, Swampert, Gardevoir, Aggron, and Shedjnja on one team. But that’s 2 – 4 megas lol.

  4. I also have a theory to why the games have Greek letters in them. Kyogre represents Poseidon and Groudon represents… Hades maybe? and Rayquaza most likely representing Zeus.

    • Groudon represents behemoth, Kyogre represents Leviathan, Rayquaza represents the Ziz (and also Jesus).

      Alpha in Greek is the letter A
      Omega in Greek is the letter Z
      both representing the beginning & the end.

      “the beginning and the end” (Revelation 21:6, 22:13).

      I am the alpha and the omega is a quote from the bible,
      I think actually jesus says it, but some one who wants to
      work the google can fact check. It’s a reference to the first
      and last, everything being in a cycle. In biblical lore, Leviathan & Behemoth fought at the beginning of time until god (rayquaza)
      stopped them and made them take a nap. further
      in the lore states that they will renew their
      fight at the end of time.

  19. It would be cool if the story was altered
    As you know Groudon and Kyorge fight, but then Archie and Maxie mega evolve them so they get powerful so when Rayquaza comes in to stop them, Rayquaza is too weak so it cannot stop them, until you mega evolve Rayquaza…

    Anything about them seem similar to some of the hoenn legendaries? :3
    The first four are from the Book of Revelations, the last is from a book i read about the end of the world & used biblical evidence to explain it (basically the sun set off a “gravity wave” that messed up the Earth; there were volcanoes and earthquakes during the end, and a great flood that created the beginning of a “new” Earth)

      • Leviathan also means whale in hebrew
        the only problem i have is the Behemoth is supposed to be a bull…but Groudon doesnt really look like one 😛

    • at this point, it feels like every hoenn legend will have mega’s with the exception of jirachi/deoxys

      we know kyogre/groudon/rayquaza will have them. we know latias/latios has them. we know their are placeholder mega’s titled R1, R2, R3 that are surely being saved for three Regi’s.

      I can see Mega’s being the new thing for a long time until they introduce the next new mechanic.
