Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Announced

Pokémon has just announced that Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will be released in November 2014 for the Nintendo 3DS. Not much more is known. Below is what the official site posted in their announcement:

Announcing Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems! Prepare for an epic adventure exploring a world filled with Pokémon!

Pokémon fans first enjoyed Pokémon Ruby Version and Pokémon Sapphire Version when it launched in 2003 for the Game Boy Advance. Now, a whole new generation of Pokémon fans will experience the dramatic storyline that unfolds in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire.

Look forward to Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire when the games launch worldwide in November 2014!

These games will be released in November world wide as confirmed by the Japanese announcement. The Japanese mini-site is kind of cool, by the way.

ps- Personally I cannot be more excited about these games. I don’t know what a heart attack feels like, but I think I had one when I saw these announced.

  1. I went away for like 5 mins. Where did all these commenters come from? It was only me and like 2 other people before!

  2. Who do you think will be the Champion? In RS it was Steven with Wallace as Gym Leader, but Emerald, the updated version has it reversed.

  3. I wonder if they’ll keep Pokemon-amie and super training? I hope they do because, this is a bit awkward to say but I only learnt how to ev train after I was half-way through X so I never really had strong pokemon.

  4. You guys remember in one of the towns, behind the pokemon centre there was a hot springs with old ladies in it? I can’t wait for that, in 3D!!

  7. They better release screen shots for ORAS in corocoro because the box art covers don’t excite me anymore 🙁

    • Actually I think just looking at the box art is exciting. It’s making me think of how might the story be different for the remakes. I mean its obvious to us all that they aren’t the Kyogre and Groudon we all know and love, but I also don’t think they are mega evolutions. I am hoping for screenshots from CoroCoro, and I can’t wait until Saturday’s Get TV!!!!

      • You’re right. They don’t look like mega forms. They look more like powered-up forms like super saiyan or something.

        • Exactly!!! I know they vary from the story too much, but maybe the plot could be about how Team Aqua/Magma interrogated the elderly couple on Mt. Pyre for more information. As the couple does guard the orbs, I’m sure they know something about these new forms!

  9. Will ORAS be anyone’s 1st nostalgic pokemon game? Like while playing it you remember playing the original. It kinda will be for me because even though my 1st game was gold, I was too young to remember what the hell I was doing.

    • Yes. Emerald was the first game I really remember, other than Yellow, and one I played through a lot. I got trainers memorized, that’s how bad it is.
Anyways, it has a special place in my heart (2nd place to Sinnoh)

    • My first was Sapphire, so I’ll love this. The music, the towns… *sighs* Also, my cousin said he MIGHT get a 3DS, so I hope he does, cause his first was Ruby, so we can duke Iit out and play our first pokemon games, but better.

  10. I won’t be on for a while. I’m Moving today, and my flight’s 29 hours long, or something. Anyway, I hope that by the time I get to my apartment, there’s some news!

  11. I hope Mega Sceptile gets No Guard… that way, it’d be the fastest Pokemon to induce someone with sleep (by “Grasswhistle”) and not only will it never miss, but it can also hit grass Poke’s 0_0

  12. Can you guys help me with deciding the last member of my team? My team so far for Alpha Sapphire is: Sceptile, Claydol, Milotic, Armaldo, and camerupt. I’m having trouble deciding between swallow, skarmory or salamence. Reasons why would be appreciated also.

      • Actually, you just reminded me that dragon types are known for their diverse movesets. I only used salamence in xd, but I didn’t really get to level it up and give it a good moveset. I’ll see what other people think too though.

    • Swallow – you can get it early on and so train it more
Skarmory – weak to fire but since you chose Sapphire that shouldn’t be a problem
Salamence – wide move pool, being a dragon. Although there’s the fairies.

  13. I’m predicting Wallace will be the 8th Gym Leader and Steven will be the Champion. And after beating the game I predict Wallace to then become the Champion for all future visits to the Elite 4, Steven becomes the Super Boss, and when you re-match Gym Leaders, Juan takes Wallace’s place.

  14. I wonder what fairy types will be in the game? you know game freak isnt going to forget the new typing mechanism

  15. I’ve decided that my final team member for Alpha sapphire is… Skarmory. I was going to go with salamence, but I was brought up a good point. Fairies! I completely forgot about fairy type pokemon and I need type coverage against them!
