Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Announced

Pokémon has just announced that Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will be released in November 2014 for the Nintendo 3DS. Not much more is known. Below is what the official site posted in their announcement:

Announcing Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems! Prepare for an epic adventure exploring a world filled with Pokémon!

Pokémon fans first enjoyed Pokémon Ruby Version and Pokémon Sapphire Version when it launched in 2003 for the Game Boy Advance. Now, a whole new generation of Pokémon fans will experience the dramatic storyline that unfolds in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire.

Look forward to Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire when the games launch worldwide in November 2014!

These games will be released in November world wide as confirmed by the Japanese announcement. The Japanese mini-site is kind of cool, by the way.

ps- Personally I cannot be more excited about these games. I don’t know what a heart attack feels like, but I think I had one when I saw these announced.

  2. I found this about 3 years ago and it was one of the funniest reads I have ever seen. It was put on Yahoo answers in 2007 about Nidoqueen and Nidoking. The response is one of the greatest things I have ever seen.

    boys prefer nidoking & girls prefer queen. but i have them both 100 & nidoking is stronger. but sence im a girl i prefer nidioqueen. nidoqueen reminds me of home i don’t why but it just gives me that worm felling. u know i drink milk 3 times a day becas i beleve it will make me as strong as nidoqueen…….u know the other day i had a DREM about nidoqueen it was the happiest night & drem of my life. it was like sooooo awsam,i was speechless all i could say is nothing cause i was sleeping.   4. I wonder if there’s going to be any new pokemon or will it only be megas, and do you think they are going to mix pokemon from other regions to the game

    • There will be plenty of gen 1-3 in the main story. Then 4-6 will be found post game 🙂 No new pokemon, but we will get about 10 new megas i think 🙂

  5. Well they are confirmed to be full remakes, and not sequels. I’m not as hyped as I was yesterday, but I’ll wait to see if the gameplay is appealing. But I really want new/innovative features. Many of the features that made RSE feel new are now standard (i.e berries/abilities/EVs/battle frontier) So at glance outside of Dive/Secret Bases/Contests, there isn’t really anything new that intrigues me (Mega’s don’t count since they are givens).

  6. Ok so, now this is just a question, but, if we were to get new mega evolutions beside latias/latios. why would they not be in x and y’s data?

    • Maybe Game Freak created them after the development of XY. Like how the Kami Trio and Keldeo’s alternate formes don’t exist in BW.

  7. Will ORAS do what HG/SS did, and prevent you from getting Gen IV evolutionary stones before beating the game? Roselia, Kirlia, and Snorunt can evolve using Shiny and Dawn Stones.

  8. Honesty, these games are going to be awkward for me to play. R/S/E had the first MAJOR graphics jump and only three gens of Pokemon. These graphics are going to be even more amazing, but since Kalos was about beauty, what with these graphics look like? Darker and grittier since it was one of those apocalyptic natural disaster themes? And Hoenn with over 700 Pokemon? Good Lord. It might as well be a new adventure.

    Im going for a Swampert, Flygon and Gardevoir, definately. Options include Salamence, Walrein, Metagross, Swellow, Milotic amongst more 😛 🙂

          • Leavanny has always been a favorite of mine. But do think it will be able to be in the game? or will you trade over an egg? Maybe it could appear in petalburg woods?

          • Unfortunately, I didn’t think about trading over eggs, so my whole team (minus Mudkip) is already perfectly bred with Egg Moves and EV trained. Only Swampert will have my OR Trainer ID. :'(

    • To be honest, its kinda hard for me to decide what I want for my team. All I know is that my starter for Alpha Sapphire will be Treecko and Omega Ruby will be Mudkip

          • Sometimes but if you truly know how that type works it’ll be a breeze

            The only challenge is finding them
            You could always just give them to yourself but that’s not as fun as sticking with the first one and forging on until you find the next member (No other types can be used in your party, you can still catch em but not battle with them, also if your starter doesn’t evolve into it u can use that until you get the first member of the type)

        • Honestly i’ve never really liked Swampert
          When i was a kid, all my friends had Swampert and always beat my Blaziken, also I never fell for the Mudkip Hype

          And one crucial fact, I’ve never EVER chosen a Water Starter for a Main Game, Always Fire except for Chespin

          • Cool, I always remember when my mudkip evolved I was never a fan of the evolutions when I was younger, however i dont kind them as much now 🙂

          • I usually do the same thing, but this time, since my first file of sapphire meant so much to me, I’m choosing Sceptile.

            I played Pokemon Sapphire Completely and 100% Blind
            After say 3 years of not playing a Pokemon game

            My Mother Bought it for me for the Plane ride to Florida when I was like 8-9, and I still remember being dragged through the Airport terminal Trying to both play and keep moving (we were running late) Right before I was told to turn off electronics I randomly pressed a button and the next thing i had was Torchic I beaten the Poochyena and quickly saved

            Everything was new, the mechanics, the Pokemon, EVERYTHING, But i was ENTHRALLED BY EVERYTHING

            I really hope ORAS allows me to revisit this beloved childhood memory but in a way its new and exciting to look back upon

  20. Wouldn’t it just be easier for Aqua and Magma to get their hands on a HA Ninetales and Politoed? They have the same ability, which was originally what they wanted anyway…

    • They should have but I heard Maxie complain about them being nerfed so they just ignore them 😉 Groudon and Kyogre will be fixed and will have a constant sun and rain again 😉

          You were only able to use its native Pokemon, Then whats the point of playing a (New) Pokemon Game if your just going to use Pokemon you’ve used in a different region

          • 1. It’s fun to use diverse pokémon.
            2. Why be hindered from using pokémon you love? Even if they are post Gen III?
            3. I didn’t like BW’s Native Pokémon Policy. I found it boring and had no clue what to use. Also, BW got me back into Pokémon after I had enough of FR/LG. There were many Hoenn and Sinnoh Pokémon I learned about and wanted to use, but I couldn’t. I used them eventually in later installments of the franchise.

  23. Kyaa! I can’t wait! 🙂 Whose excited to see Fortee City and Sootopolis City in 3D? Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, specifically Sapphire, was my first Pokemon game, and I absolutely loved it! I can’t wait to play Brendan, the male protagonist, and travel across Hoenn with my Pokemans! 🙂

  24. Do you think we’ll see Hoenn at twilight and night time? Or will it be like in X/Y where they just make it sort of orange or blue-ish and call it a job well done? DPP had a much better day/night look, not to mention different pokémon and slower music at night.
