Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Announced

Pokémon has just announced that Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will be released in November 2014 for the Nintendo 3DS. Not much more is known. Below is what the official site posted in their announcement:

Announcing Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems! Prepare for an epic adventure exploring a world filled with Pokémon!

Pokémon fans first enjoyed Pokémon Ruby Version and Pokémon Sapphire Version when it launched in 2003 for the Game Boy Advance. Now, a whole new generation of Pokémon fans will experience the dramatic storyline that unfolds in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire.

Look forward to Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire when the games launch worldwide in November 2014!

These games will be released in November world wide as confirmed by the Japanese announcement. The Japanese mini-site is kind of cool, by the way.

ps- Personally I cannot be more excited about these games. I don’t know what a heart attack feels like, but I think I had one when I saw these announced.

  1. Yaaay! Atleast Kyogre/Groudon are pretty much confirmed to be Mega Evolutions.

The Japanese arm of The Pokémon Company sent out an e-mail to all Daisuki Club members which ends up pointing out the differences to Groudon & Kyogre on the box-art, stating that they’re showcasing “never before seen Pokémon”, the same terminology they used Mega Mewtwo Y upon their reveal, indicating that they are more than stylised artwork of the Pokémon. We’ll bring more on this as it comes – Serebii

  2. Right so if you could change the typing of groudon and kyogre what would you have them as ? Add a new type ? Or leave them as they are ? 🙂

  3. Kyogre and Groudon stat wise are some of the weakest Legendary Pokemon, therefore I’m calling mega evolutions 🙂

  5. Please don’t mega Kyogre and Groudon. New forms with altered stats would be much better. Don’t break the metagame! **Glares Mega Kangaskhan**

    • had this been 5th gen… you would have new forms… but Mega’s are the new mechanic, it wouldn’t make sense for them to go back to form changes after introducing a new mechanic.

If Meloetta was introduced in gen 6 best believe its form change would’ve been a mega. In fact, it was most likely a beta for mega evolving. It was the only Pokemon that could change forms during battle.

Mega Kyogre/Groudon are still inferior to Mega Mewtwo.

    • Don’t do that
      TRY TO RESIST
cause you’ll end up playing both versions then emerald and then you’ll get too familiar to the game and layout and you won’t feel it later

  6. Hey guys, I was thinking, what if the battle at the start of the game is changed into a horde battle? Honestly, it makes more sense for the Professor to run from a horde than to run from a single Pochiena. PokéSpe at least changed that to several Guraena.

  7. @ the beginning of the game when you’re moving into your new house, maybe they can have Gurdurr unloading the furniture into our homes instead of Machoke/Vigoroth. Since Gurdurr are wielding i-beams and you need those to build the 1st floor of a house =)

    • Why would a Gurdurr be found in the Hoenn Region….
That’s the point of a “New” Region to see its native Pokemon not something from somewhere else
If you want a Gurdurr to help you move go live in Unova

      • so by your logic… If I want to catch Groudon & Kyogre I should go go the native region where they’re found? But yet… they’re found in Johto as well… Don’t be an ass Ian, just cause they’re remakes doesn’t mean it will follow the same exact poke.

Ruby & Sapphire, Machokes help moved in furniture, they’re from Kanto. Shouldn’t I have went to Kanto if I wanted body builders to help me move in my home. Aren’t Machoke supposed to be native to Kanto. You argument failed.

Emerald they changed it and Vigoroth moves your stuff into your home.

I don’t see why they can’t change it to a more relevant Pokemon like gurdurr.

    • Considering the out of the blue announcement, we should expect screenshots or reveals at any moment, Corocoro is leaking between the 10th and the 14th so keep your eyes out for that.
