Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Announced

Pokémon has just announced that Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will be released in November 2014 for the Nintendo 3DS. Not much more is known. Below is what the official site posted in their announcement:

Announcing Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems! Prepare for an epic adventure exploring a world filled with Pokémon!

Pokémon fans first enjoyed Pokémon Ruby Version and Pokémon Sapphire Version when it launched in 2003 for the Game Boy Advance. Now, a whole new generation of Pokémon fans will experience the dramatic storyline that unfolds in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire.

Look forward to Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire when the games launch worldwide in November 2014!

These games will be released in November world wide as confirmed by the Japanese announcement. The Japanese mini-site is kind of cool, by the way.

ps- Personally I cannot be more excited about these games. I don’t know what a heart attack feels like, but I think I had one when I saw these announced.

    • There are no other greek letters with significant meaning that can top Alpha and Omega. 🙂
      1. Beta (test)
      2. Delta (force)
      3. Sigma (sum, the guy from X)
      4. Gamma (rays)

Gamma is associated with The Hulk, who is green, so this may be appropriate, if trollish.

    • Well, basing my assumption off the fact that both Kyogre and Groudon’s body are capable of forming their respective Greek symbol, Rayquaza’s body fits Theta, Omicron, and Phi quite well. My guess would be Theta Emerald

    • I have to see what we can catch on each route first. I might go for a rotating team like I’m doing for XY, but not with 24 Pokémon, because it’s too much of a pain. I’ll probably use at least 4 Hoenn Pokémon. Maybe a rotating party of 12. And none of the ones I used in XY should be there.

  3. What if we’re overthinking the whole Neo Groudon and Neo Kyogre thing? What if they’re just regular Groudon and Kyogre that can glow now? Maybe they glow if they use new signature moves. The Weather Trio’s the only Mascot Trio that doesn’t have signature moves. Maybe they glow if they use these new moves like how Yveltal glows when it uses Oblivion Wing.

  6. Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire are full-remakes of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. Iwata announced this today to clear up the confusion! So, no reboot/sequel of Hoenn!

    • :/ Okay, I’m cool with that. As much as I wanted changes to Hoenn, FOR GOODNESS SAKES IT’S HOENNNNNN <3333 Now, nothing will have changed, so we can see all the cities in ummm the 2D that's like Castelia City.

  7. Im so glad that we know they are REMAKES and not sequels- i would love sequels but want to re-experience Hoenn in the beautiful form of XY first. You never know remakes could come next year or the year after.

  8. I don’t think these are FULL remakes because they still have to incorporate these forms into it. I think that pretty much everything will be the same except involving Megas and these two in the plot.

  10. It’s confirmed that they’re full on remakes, but there’s going to be notable changes. Less water routes (or more islands).

“I remember in an Iwata Asks someone at GF mentioning that they cut down
on water routes because they confuse little kids. In that case… Hoenn couldn’t be remade with their current philosophy on region design.
I wonder if that means Hoenn will change a lot? BRIDGES!?” -Tamashii Hiroka

  11. You know, since Emerald came out around the same time as FireRed and LeafGreen, I wonder if we’ll be able to go to the Sevii islands as part of the post game? I have a feeling we probably won’t get a kanto remake in the near future so…

  12. Speculation time! In Emerald, you’d get the 2nd gen starters after you complete the Hoenn Dex. So what if, alongside the 2nd gen starters, you’d get their mega stones? Since the 2nd gen remakes were just a couple of years ago, they obviously wouldn’t make a remake of a remake so.. If they want to implement 2nd gen starter megas, now would be the time, I guess.
