Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Announced

Pokémon has just announced that Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will be released in November 2014 for the Nintendo 3DS. Not much more is known. Below is what the official site posted in their announcement:

Announcing Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems! Prepare for an epic adventure exploring a world filled with Pokémon!

Pokémon fans first enjoyed Pokémon Ruby Version and Pokémon Sapphire Version when it launched in 2003 for the Game Boy Advance. Now, a whole new generation of Pokémon fans will experience the dramatic storyline that unfolds in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire.

Look forward to Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire when the games launch worldwide in November 2014!

These games will be released in November world wide as confirmed by the Japanese announcement. The Japanese mini-site is kind of cool, by the way.

ps- Personally I cannot be more excited about these games. I don’t know what a heart attack feels like, but I think I had one when I saw these announced.

  3. Just putting it out there:
X/Y music is pretty good! It just hasn’t got the deserved praise because we’re all bathing in the nostalgia of old games. We haven’t even had enough time to notice the sweet little details of the game.

  4. My top 5 mega requests I would love to see lol:

–Mightyenanite │Dark │Strong Jaws (come in with Moxie Mightyena, grab an attack boost, then mega evolve into Strong Jaws. Boosting the power of all your fang moves).

–Laprasite │Water/Ice │Refrigerate (Lapras has access to Dragon Dance but lack of STAB physical moves. With refrigerate, it’ll be able to turn Body Slam into an Ice Haxer and sweep).

–Jynxinite │Fairy/Ice │Aroma Veil (it’ll be the only Pokemon to be Ice/Fairy, has STAB Draining Kiss now, and with the given ability it can’t be Taunted or Encored etc, allowing it to set up free Calm Mind’s).

–Walreinite │Water/Ice │Bulletproof (with bulletproof it’d be resistant to Energy Ball, Shadow Ball, Focus Blast moves that would obliterate it)

–Metagrossite │Steel │Iron Fist (loses it’s Psychic typing upon Mega evolving, and gets Iron Fist boosting the power of Meteor Mash, Bullet Punch, Thunderpunch, Ice Punch)

  6. With the games being announced now, I wonder if they’ll talk about them at E3 any. Maybe not to X and Y’s extent, but it could be cool if they started to regularly go to E3. lol

  7. I just really want the contests to return which I’m sure they will. Because if you transfer a Pokemon that won ribbons from RSE to Kalos they get changed into commemorative ribbons, which tells me they are designing new ones.

  8. Gamefreak/Nintendo if you’re reading this I got one more quest, make sure the battle field for Wi-Fi Battles looks cool, or allow us to change it like how we can change music. Because this green digital thing with the fake audience is ugly AF.

  9. So is anyone going to speculate on where omega and alpha fit in. Other than them being the last and first letters of the Greek alphabet, which I think Is pretty clever.

    • All I know is that the game(s) will definitely have something to do with the King AZ. Given all the occult meaning behind it. And seeing that Groudon/Kyogre destroy the ecosystem, I can imagine Zygarde monitoring and coming out to stop them. Thousand Waves in Kyogre’s version, learns Thousand Arrows in Groudons version. I don’t think there will be a cut scene of Rayquaza coming down to stop them this time because that was the old storyline, this one is a new game. There’s probably some in-game story about the terms “alpha” and “omega”.
