Ask PokéJungle: Generation III

Continuing our look back at the third Generation of Pokémon, we’re bringing you the next Ask PokéJungle.

Similarly to the second before it, Generation III is where a lot of trainers started their Pokémon Adventures, while, for others it was the third time they’d been introduced to a new batch of Pocket Monsters. Ruby and Sapphire undeniably introduced some of the biggest changes and additions to the series, including many that are still fan favourites today, such as secret bases.

If you’ve not already guessed, in this Jungle Asks we’re going to be focusing on all the Third Generation Pokémon games. We want to hear your questions! This is your chance to ask us and one another anything about the Third Generation, anything goes! So, yeah, have at it! And yes, just because I personally like the third generation the least, you can still ask me things…

    • Most memorable Gen 3 experience?… Stealing Pokemon Sapphire from some neighborhood kid back in 2003.

I was only 12… so I was beginning that transition into a “naughty teen”.

Internet was around, but it wasn’t very popular. I didn’t even own a PC at the time. So us local playground kids found out that there was a new batch of Pokemon when an Indian kid came to our playground with an official strategy guide of Ruby/Sapphire… boy did our mouths drop. We used to wrestle on the tanbark daily, and we got the kid to wrestle with us and I remember someone doing a maneuver on him that caused a Blue, sparkly, fat cartridge fall out of his pocket. I knew what it was LOL. so I kicked tanbark over it, and when he complained about him missing the game.. I played dumb XD . I went back and got it later that night, got my mom to buy me a Gameboy Advance.. and continued to fan boy hard for generations to come lmao.

  1. What’s everyone’s favorite moment / memory from Pokemon R/S/E? 😀

Mine was when my Swampert evolved and trying to find my secret base after I lost it XD (I didn’t know the guy in a Pokemon Center tells you where it is at that time).

    • mine was when i accidently got a shiny treecko.

no but i have a much greater moment. When i first played emerald, i was vsing glacia and her tanky walrien. After an ice beam my sceptile survived at 1hp without an item! As a seven year old i started flipping out in excitement that i have a chance to win. Then luckily her sheer cold missed and leaf blade took it out making me move onto drake!

Sadly this sceptile is no longer with me 🙁 DX I MISS YOU SCEPTILE

          • i love her though, she made time during hard times to play pokemon with me and i wonuldnt be playing without her.

These experiences with the treecko family made it my favorite pokemon XD

        • Possibly, yes. I don’t really like Surf.

And of course! I’ve played every Pokémon game in the main series (aside from Y). I wouldn’t miss one. 😛

    • To harken back to my old theory, I believe eevee’s last evolution (the dragon one) will appear in the next batch of new Pokemon, wether its dubbed Gen 6.5 or Gen 7.

Back in Gen 3, Pokemon types were either physical or special. 9 physical types and 8 special types (if Fairy was back then it would’ve been special, making 9 special/9 physical). Eevee has adapated to every special type, with only 1 left, Dragon. Now there is an NPC in XY that says he learned Dragon Tail from the Village of Dragons. I believe this will be a new area in a future game that we take Eevee to, level it up, and it adapts/becomes the dragon eevee. Now here me out, Blackthorn City was once known as Village of Dragons. It was also used again in Unova as a town next to Opelucid. But on Bulbapedia they know something we don’t know, because they have under trivia “Village of Dragons is in a remote region far away from Kalos & Unova, as confirmed by an NPC”.

      • *Now HEAR me out

        ^ Grammar nazi >:l

        (Just messing with ya.)

That would be an interesting theory and it does seem like Dragon is the next logical step, after dragon, we would be moving on to physical types. I also hope that Eevee gets a (Normal typed) evolution or a mega evolution.

          • But there must be eevee domination .-.
xD It’s sad that nobody wants an eevee for eevee. They want it for Flareon or Umbreon or Sylveon, etc.

  2. When they remake Gen 3, we better be able to obtain Roserade, Dusknoir, & Gallade early on. I don’t want to have to wait to beat Elite 4. I hated that in HeartGold/SoulSilver. We couldn’t find a shiny stone to evolve Togetic until we reach Kanto region -_-
