Dae asks: How connected are you?

News is crawling by slower than a three-toed sloth. I guess you can’t really promote new games when you still want to sell the old ones :). Bring on the spin-offs in January, please.

Anyway, today’s about a major feature of Pokémon: connectivity. Even more than 15 years ago, Pokémon was designed to bring people together to let them trade and battle. Nowadays, with the internet having gained solid ground, staying connected is easier than ever. With the PSS in Pokémon XY, battling is as simple as pushing one button. This leads me to my question: how connected are you? How many friends have you got in your friends list. How many times do you battle and trade everyday? Do you talk a lot about your battles with your friends in online chat, or even at the playground? And who’s considered the best local battler of his friend group/family?

It’s hard to make up news, and we don’t have coverage that is coming to a close that actually gets delayed and trickled to pretend there’s still news, so if you have any ideas, hit us up in the comments. Maybe I should try to write my own Pokéology, seeing as we have no clue what Mechanos is up to. You can comment in the meantime below this article, but everyone who spams too much will be put on the ‘spamlist of shame’ for everyone to see. Happy commenting!

  1. Huehuehuehuehue FIRST. Also, awesome article. I am connected to the games as I see all these people around me, enjoying the game and learning tactics to beat them all. It’s fun to trade, battle, and even see our PR Videos. My Pokemon and I are friends, separated from just one screen. I am trainer surrounded by friends.

  2. I beat all the kids on the playground at recess. They all give me their lunch money and let me be first in line for the swings. Actually I’m in college and the only people I battle are the Japanese kids I spotpass.

  3. I love the connectivity in this game! I can honetly say that this is the first Pokemon game to have me hooked completely and I don’t even mind the random battle and trade requests (though I am dreading that when PokeBank and PokeTransfer is out, we’re gonna see a flood of Arceus’ unless they are hacked).

  4. I have never talked to anyone about playing Pokemon X, because in the past I’ve been called “gay” or “such a little baby” for playing it. The only friends on my friends list is my best friend, my brother, and you guys. I’ve never battled, I’ve traded at least once a week, I only talk about pokemon in online chat, and I can’t really say who’s the best battler in my family lol.

  5. Speaking of connecting. Could anyone share their friend code? In desperate need of some different types in the safari.
    Mines 1805 – 2509 – 7099.
    Thanks

  6. I am not connected at all, because I have no time and my friends around here, the very few who actually play Pokémon, still don’t have the game. One of my friends is getting it this weekend, though. My brother’s Pokémon are way stronger than mine, because he spends all of his time on the DS, playing Y. I, however, still play the Gen 5 games along with X. As for the friends list though, I have 29 or something friends. I don’t dare battle any of them, because my Pokémon are sadly underleveled

  7. I don’t really know any other people who play pokemon except for my brother (who’s 25…and has a PhD)
I would like to know some people who play but I’m that bothered tbh

  8. I try to be connected most of the time. I have nearly 30 friends on my friends list. I don’t always trade and battle but when I do I make sure it’s epic. i make sure the battles are intense but fun. My friends and I bring up our battles somehow everyday. If you lived in my block and walked around with your 3DS some people would point to my house and say ” That’s where our strongest Pokémon Trainer lives!”
