Walmart to Distribute Serial Codes with X & Y

It has been recently discovered that if you now buy copies of Pokémon X & Y at a Walmart in the states, they will contain special serial codes. If you buy Pokemon X you’ll get a serial code to download a special Garchomp; if you get Y you’ll get one for a special Scizor. Both of these serial codes are one-time use only.

The details of these event Pokemon as well as how long this promotion lasts hasn’t been announced yet, but we’ll be sure to keep you guys updated!

  1. For a competitive team, I will be using a Goomy. Not just any Goomy, a golden Goomy. If anyone has this, I will gladly trade 2 of my shinies for it.
PS: Happy birthday to @heavymetallamb:disqus and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! 😀

          • it’s bullshit honestly. people that play by it get pissed when you show up at a tournament and don’t play by smogon rules. it’s ridiculous and a little immature (to react like that anyway, if you want to play by those rules for fun, go ahead). but banning everything that’s good just because you don’t want to face something good and lose is just wrong.

          • That is a fair point. Personally I play Pokemon for fun, no way am i entering official tournaments.
And in all fairness i have found the Smogon metagame to be the most balanced and fun…hence why i like it

          • again, what’s fun about being THAT limited? almost everything is banned (i know i’m exaggerating). honestly, it would just be better to talk over rules with the person you’re battling than to memorize a shit load of made up rules. (sorry if i seem too… aggressive (?), i’m still going through whatever the hell is wrong with me)

          • they ban pokemon, combos, abilities, try to limit how many pokemon can be asleep/paralyzed, items, and all sorts of things.

          • well all i’m really saying is that smogon rules are fine to play by for fun but don’t go to a tournament and expect every to follow them or even online or wherever or however else you’d battle. not every goes by the rules and if those are what you strictly play by, then you’re honestly fucked when you go against someone that doesn’t. again, play by them if you want but not everyone does. and i sure as hell will not play by their rules.

          • Limited…what exactly is limited.
Evasion clause – the opponent uses one double team, and suddenly all moves have an accuracy equal or lower than Iron Tail.
Sleep Clause – putting the entire opponents team to sleep, sounds like a lot of fun for both of you.
Ubers – Most of these are banned from official tournaments anyway…i think

Again just to make sure, i have no idea how tournaments are regulated or what rules they follow

          • last i knew, only about 5 pokemon are actually banned. and smogon bans a lot of things (abilities, combos, items, pokemon, movesets, and a few other things i think). it’s just not right. and if someone uses a team that focuses on putting the opponent to sleep, then hell, you should’ve been ready for that (though i know not every team is ready for every single thing but you get my point). hell, my darkrai always puts entire teams to sleep if they’re not ready and that’s happened to me too.

          • Like i said it is fair enough if you enjoy that kind of stuff. Personally i don’t…simple as.

Smogon only bans things that they think are overpowered or have a serious detrimental effect on the metagame. Now this can be subjective, but the people at Smogon don’t make blind decisions. Personally i see a lot of people play and enjoy that metagame as opposed to the ‘free for all’ one you are talking about.
I’m not trying to convince you to adopt it, you can play however you like, I just don’t like that you are saying it is rubbish because of some things you don’t like.

Like i said i don’t know how tournaments function, but i was under the impression Pokemon like, the legendary mascots, mewtwo, deoxys e.t.c were banned.

          • well i’m not saying the rules are completely trash it’s just…willing restricting yourself when you don’t need to. now, i understand doing it for fun and all. that’s fine. by all means, go ahead and do it. that’s up to you. but when you play by smogon rules and expect everyone else to even in official settings, a lot of those people, from experience, act very immature. now there could be some that aren’t like that but most are (just from what i’ve seen, i could be wrong). and last i saw, there was a list of banned pokemon for official matches (only remember aceus though) and then there are a few “restricted” ones. i can’t remember what exactly that means, i didn’t pay much attention to it really. so yes, there are a few things that are actually banned, though just actual pokemon, but things that can be winning strategies that smogon just doesn’t want to deal with, nothing like that exists. i can use my sleep team, i can use my rain team (drizzle/swift swim which smogon has “banned”). and things like that.

          • I do agree with you on that however…I think people should play how they want to, and the rules should be decided before the match begins, so at that point they have nothing to complain about if they have already agreed.
Also people shouldn’t enter official tournaments and expect Smogon rules, Smogon is simply a fan site, and should be teated as such.
Tournaments are one thing and playing to just for fun is something else. I never really bothered with tournaments, so i will stick to the Smogon rules…

          • exactly. just play how you want but don’t bitch if someone isn’t playing by the rules you didn’t talk about or disagrees.

and again, smogon…it’s your choice really. i’m just saying if you’re using smogon and someone else isn’t, it’s going to be a bitch. hell, i don’t even use tournament rules. i just play how-the-fuck-ever. though if you do ever go to a tournament (well people in general not you you) then only go by the rules youre told, not smogon. that’s all i’m saying.
