Thanks everyone for your wonderful articles. By the time this post goes up, the admission period for round one closes. Everyone who passed should have received their email already. I’ll post all the names below, so everyone can see who makes a chance at getting featured! Now, let’s go on with the details for round two!
What you need to do
For round two, we need a full-fledged article, to be featured in the magazine. It should be about two pages in Word, font size 11 (which is about 900 words). The article should have a rather timeless aspect, that is, it should be readable within two years and still make the same impact. Make sure it is fit for a magazine, so don’t make use of tables or list, or too many sprites. Take care of your grammar and spelling. If you win, we’ll still go sit together and iron all the kinks out, but a cleanly written article makes a much better impression. You can resubmit your article from round one if you think it is substantial enough. Submissions must reach me before January 3rd. I’ll send reminders to everyone if I haven’t got your article before December 27th. Winners (:)) will be announced somewhere around January 12th.
What you can win
In a change of plans, two articles can get featured in the magazine. Both will receive a printed copy of the magazine. If you didn’t win, it’s possible we’ll feature your article on the site in a revisit to a feature we revealed a while ago.. We’ll contact you in the case we want to see it featured. Sadly, there’s no prize coupled to this other than fame.

Is Vinnie at least funny?
We last the serious character. All of the main cast being humorous is just bad IMO, that is why I liked Brian. He was a good dog.
Brian trying to be funny made me cringe honestly. At least from what I can tell, Vinnie and Stewie will be pretty dynamic with Stewie trying to deal with Brian’s death.

Vinnie does seem to have some pretty good potential.
I was going to make a huge ass wall of text listing in full detail, all the things that I detest about Family Guy and everything that Seth Macfarlane has created, but I realized that it would take far too long, so I’m going to give you one of my reasons, ahem *straightens paper* Peter is one of the most despicable, unlikable characters created in animation history with the IQ equivalent to a dog scrotum and personality of a depraved, crusty urchin, his jokes are never funny and always end up making the whole show feel like it was made by an ignorant prepubescent

The largest group is not always the intended target audience. I could bring up one example, but I do not want to start a war here…
Typically hard core fanatics are never the fondest of groups regardless of age.

Well, he was the most relateble character in the show, and was well liked. He gave us interesting episodes, and had that amazing duo with Stewie. It feels weird to just replace him.
I’d be annoyed more than sad, personally, though that’s me of course. I don’t watch the show much, but he was the best character and the least annoying because we could relate to him as every other cast member was absolutely moronic or psychotic. Replacing him is weird and annoying. But I can’t imagine Family Guy is a show many people were emotionally invested in…xD
It isn’t, but it had some good serious tone episodes. And a show doesn’t have to be a certain style to be emotionally invested in.
Yes, but you are upset because it costs you money. People hold a connection with characters sometimes and it is a shock to see them go.

It’s okay but it was a bad analogy. For one, the game is my possession, something I own, I paid money for. You guys didn’t earn the show at all. Two, you would have been destroying my time and work I put into the game. You guys put no work into a television show. I understand your connection but it’s not the same things.
For example, LOST is a better analogy. Everyone died frequently in that show. It was sad to see many of them die. But they are still fake characters and deaths really only determined my interest in continuing to watch the show. >_>
In fact the only reason I would cry was because of everyone’s reactions after a death, not so much the actual death of a character. That’s how you know a character was well written…how many people care after he dies and how well they play their response to the death.
The last part is where we are really upset.

He was a well liked character, and if you lost a favorite character in a show, would you be upset. I’m fine now, but it’s not exactly fun…

Vinny is a really good match for Stewie. Where Brian was sort of a match for Stewie intellectually, Vinny is a good match for Stewie because he doesn’t let Stewie get away with any crap. He’ll call Stewie out on his B.S. freely.
