PJM 2014 Contest – Round Two

Thanks everyone for your wonderful articles. By the time this post goes up, the admission period for round one closes. Everyone who passed should have received their email already. I’ll post all the names below, so everyone can see who makes a chance at getting featured! Now, let’s go on with the details for round two!

What you need to do

For round two, we need a full-fledged article, to be featured in the magazine. It should be about two pages in Word, font size 11 (which is about 900 words). The article should have a rather timeless aspect, that is, it should be readable within two years and still make the same impact. Make sure it is fit for a magazine, so don’t make use of tables or list, or too many sprites. Take care of your grammar and spelling. If you win, we’ll still go sit together and iron all the kinks out, but a cleanly written article makes a much better impression. You can resubmit your article from round one if you think it is substantial enough. Submissions must reach me before January 3rd. I’ll send reminders to everyone if I haven’t got your article before December 27th. Winners (:)) will be announced somewhere around January 12th.

What you can win

In a change of plans, two articles can get featured in the magazine. Both will receive a printed copy of the magazine. If you didn’t win, it’s possible we’ll feature your article on the site in a revisit to a feature we revealed a while ago.. We’ll contact you in the case we want to see it featured. Sadly, there’s no prize coupled to this other than fame.

List of  ‘PJM Community Writers’

Everyone that passes round one will be added to the list of community writers. For the next PJM Contests, they are automatically granted access to the second round. 1. Okay, so I have a 31/31/31/x/31/31 Superpower, Aqua Jet, Belly Drum Marill in case anyone’s interested. I have one with 31 HP, so the 5 IV one doesn’t really matter to me, so I’d be willing to trade it.

  2. I was looking through the Friend Safari list.
    Saw Conor had a Dusclops.
Realized that I REALLY want a shiny Dusclops.
    Schedules next hunt.

    • Definately Talonflame. And I think that with access to Icicle Crash, weavile will rise up, along with Flareon now that it has Flare Blitz. I also think that entei has a chance of making it to OU with acess to Sacred Fire.

        • Yeah, Gale Wings Talonflame has enough bulk to use Priority Roost as soon as it comes out to recover from Rocks damage, as long as there is no rock moves on the opposing Pokemon.

  3. So out of a group of random eggs I’ve collected from the daycare… A group from which I’ve bred… I’ve gotten Dedenne, Honedge, Phantump, a Klefki, and… A Trubbish… How I have a trubbish I don’t know.

  4. Breeding can be so torturous… until you get a batch of Gastly that has one with 6 perfect IVs and one with 5 perfect IVs, only missing Attack. So satisfying

          • That happened with my Froakie -_- One of the most frustrating feelings ever. Luckily the next batch had another perfect one with Protean

          • I am planning on getting pokemon x some time and the team I want to use is:
            Venusaur
            Greninja
            Noivern
            Goodra
            Pyroar
            Aegislash
All hidden abilities but it is going to be ridiculous because I went them to have the new ot so I have to send eggs over. When I do finding out they don’t have their hidden abilities is going to be a pain

          • What you could do with that is, before the eggs hatch in your Y version, save the game. Hatch the eggs, and if it’s the one you want, turn off the game so it doesn’t save you hatching the egg. That way you’ll know if it’s a good egg or not. I don’t believe the game will switch up the values of the egg if you just reset it

          • That’s the thing. I’m not entirely sure. I don’t think it would because every egg seems to have a set value, but it doesn’t hurt to try
