You should disable the move animations under the options menu when EXP grinding to make it faster.

I learned the hard way. I trained a bad IV team, with good IVs and movesets, but they sucked no the less.
To be honest i only go for maximum 3 perfect IVs. I agree it makes a slight difference, but i don’t think enough for me to bother with more than 3 perfect 😀 (and i’m kind of lazy at that point)
I consider 4 and up perfect.

Well….I have opinions on that. My favorite is Umbreon, but Vappy, Jolty, Espy and Sylvy are the best.

Currently trying out the Masuda method for the first time (I’m on 211 eggs so far) I’ve heard about the new shiny value thing and it sounds a lot like pokegen to me. I promised myself that all of my pokemon would be legit in X and Y. I’m not talking the easy route out this time.
i tried it and its still hard and not worth it. your egg can have up to over 4000 different values and then trying to find someone that matches ur egg value.. yeh by then id have found a shiny in-game already
It sounds harder than I thought. Horde battles have been the main way I’ve been getting shinies. The pokeradar just frustrates me.

Just begun my Y adventure and noticed the sound when u click on the icon on the home screen is different from X’s. Plays a darker tingle as opposed to the euphoric tingle X plays when you highlight it. I traded over 4 of my shinies from X to Y to help me with adventure haha. Chose Fennekin as my starter this time and named it hermione, I got a modest nature first try. pretty cool. And have the shinies noibat, chespin, gastly, larvitar as my teammates.

mine is 21412 – its a pyramid number. apparently pyramid numbers, or ID’s that begin with 6, or ID’s that have repetitive numbers like 53323 have easier chances of finding shinies in the wild.

I also forgot to add that apparently if your ID ends with 8 or begins with 0 that they can appear easier for you too. But a dull ID number something like 34217 would have a difficult time. I think you have a good ID!

will never! i had tested it to see what it is and it takes too long tbh. But I hatched machop/abra for some kid and got a shiny charmander out of it for helping, but besides that nope – its better to find your own shinies in the safari much easier

@Starbits I figured out the reason why shinies are easily encounterable for me in the safari on X!! Apparently if your trainer ID has a “pyramid” set of numbers, or repetitive numbers it can alter your chance of finding shinies in the wild. And I happen to have a pyramid ID
