We already got a Gen 1 remake. So people are just more hopeful since they are under this belief that GameFreak would NEVER make ANOTHER gen 1 remake, so the logical choice would be gen 3 which hasn’t gotten a remake ‘yet’. That hope for what they consider ‘logic’ equals hype.

Its because the majority of kids who played gen 1 have stopped playing, so the oldest part of the fanbase that still has a large amount of members feel nostalgic towards gen 3 the same way the original players felt towards gen 1
I don’t believe that’s true. I played the original gen and I’m not that old. Believe it or not, a majority of gamers are actually averaged in their 30’s…
No don’t get me wrong I started with red and blue to, but there’s no denying that the vast majority who played it when they were younger have stopped by now.
I mis spoke when I said aged out, I more meant that the people who were young kids during gen 3 are being vocal about its nostalgia the same way the people with gen 1 were doing a couple of years ago.

I still dislike what they did to weather, it was such a vital part of the gen 5 metagame. I mean yeah, it did centralise it a bit, but a non-weather team still did fine against weather. And besides, Fairy and Megas are more than enough to balance the metagme and make it less focused on weather.

I don’t think ‘balance’ is the right word here. Fairies and megas completely broke the meta game even more than weather abusers did.

They reason they do that is because the systems aren’t compatible with each other. It’s not really a pattern. GBA and GBC were not compatible; the only way to trade Pokemon was Colosseum. They remade HGSS for the DS because a) sell games and systems and b) compatibility issues.
GBA is still compatible with the DS. It’s a pain but it’s possible.
The other side is that GF likes making money and remakes are a gold mine. So on the other side of the coin, a RSE remake could do well. However there isn’t much proof that it’s being worked on…if it is they are being INCREDIBLY hush.

Yes…research it. It’s a rumor from a while ago. Nothing has come of it either. Rare doesn’t even work on many games anymore…they were completely dismantled by Microsoft and reorganized. What is left of ‘Rare’ is in shambles and their IPs went with them.
