I learned today that King’s Shield does not guard against status moves. Pretty awesome way to ensure crippling Aegislash xD

I found out in my battle with chandelure16. I used Fly with Talonflame in hopes that he’d switch into Aegislash, which he did. He then used King’s Shield, and I was like crap, now he knows I’m trying to burn him. But then Talonflame used Will-o-Wisp anyways, and I was like awwww yeah Talonflame.
interesting…looks like Aegislash will go down from OU once people realize it’s faults xD
I still believe Eviolite Doublade is much better than Aegislash.

I never use my Eviolite Doublade in competitive. It ALWAYS gets OHKO’d by Flamethrower or something.

Doublade w/ Eviolite
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 108 Atk / 144 HP / 112 SDef
Adamant Nature
– Sacred Sword
– Iron Head/Gyro Ball
– Shadow Sneak
– King’s Shield
Doublade is for in-game so it doesn’t really matter. I already EV trained it so I’m not really going to do that again xD
every pokemon isn’t meant to sweep or take the spotlight. You need to be switching and using your team to it’s strengths.
That’s what I’m learning to do. Before I’d go with my Pokemon who was already out and just say we’ll do it! I didn’t wanna switch and take damage with my other Pokemon xD
it’s another thing to get used to. I typically win my battles after losing 3 pokemon. I never do well at the start but I adapt and win my battles.
And there’s so much predicting that goes into that adapting. Imperative that you outpredict your opponent.
prediction is imperative for offensive teams….which is why I don’t like it much….too many risks/too many rewards faster paced. However for defensive players there is a tradeoff. You really don’t have to predict much, but it’s much slower paced.
I like to go for a balance of both offense and defense. But at the same time I feel the need to incorporate only my favorites. Like I can’t use Starmie, I’m just not a fan of it. But I know I’m missing out on an awesome Pokemon in battle.
Of course, in team building I start with my favorites and then tweak it according to their weakness and enhancing it’s strengths
I’m probably committing a big no no because I’m gonna have both Chesnaught and Breloom on my team xD I refuse to deposit my Chesnaught, it will always be on my team. And I also want to use Breloom.
I’m not finished with my competitive pokes yet…

You should battle RocketClauncher. He’s seriously good with the strategy. Just a warning, don’t let his Roserade set up Toxic Spikes….and of course, there’s his Snorlax…

What if I use Snorlax instead of Blissey? It has higher base stats in all areas. Isn’t there a move or ability that negates those spikes?

yes but all 3 of them have low defenses to switch-in once the spikes have been set. So be careful using them
There’s an ability called Magic Bounce which puts all the hazards that were set up against you over on to the opponents side. Espeon and Xatu can have this ability to my knowledge.
And it depends what you’re looking for in both Pokemon. Blissey is great for support. Snorlax is your bulky attacker.

If you’re gonna go with Mega Aggron, yes. Otherwise, I’d go with Tyranitar.

Normal Tyranitar is better imo. Give it Assault Vest/Choice Band/Choice Scarf.

Do the Single Battle at the Battle Maison, win all 20 battles and you’ll have 48 BP. Purchase it from the receptionist out front on the left. It increases your Special Defense by 50%, but forces you to only use offensive moves.
So just to clarify, I can’t use Swords Dance but can use special and physical moves?

I’d go with Dark Pulse, Surf, Ice Beam, and Shadow Sneak. Though I’d ask regi for his thoughts because he’s going with a mixed attacker Protean Greninja and has put a lot of thought into it.

I replaced it with Charizard for a short while, but at the same time I was sad because Talonflame had been so awesome for me on what was still a beginning journey, yet I wanted to use a Mega. But then something magical happened and I deposited Charizard and am using a Talonflame…but is it Gale Wings? Was it the acquisition of a Mawilite? What happened? Nobody will find out.

It’s not Gale Wings XD You changed your whole team because it wasn’t as strong as could be while still using a Mega so you decided on Mega Mawile and kept that Lapras given to you. You reorganized your whole team to what it is today. Not such a mystery now is it? XDD
I wanted to use Mega Mawile from the beginning, but found out couldn’t get the Mega Stone until the post-game. So that got scratched initially lol. Then I kept seeing these awesome Megas in Wi-Fi Battles, and they were so awesome, so I knew I had to adapt my team to have one soon. So in place of my beloved Talonflame, I started training Charizard. But I missed Talonflame, and then like I said, something magical happened. Was it Gale Wings? Was it the Mawilite? 😉 I’ll keep you guessing just like you keep me guessing with Chesnaught’s moveset hahaha xD

then I might go for 1~2 perfect IVs. 4~5 IVs needs about 3 days of dedicated breed for 1 pokemon

Competitive I can understand, gotta go for the best as possible 😀 I’m still learning to draw the line between in-game and competitive, but don’t think I ever will. I bond with the Pokemon on my journey, and prefer to try and EV train them for competitive, regardless of their faults haha.
I used to be unable to play in-game without paying so much attention to EVs, nature and IVs….but I realized how unchallenging it was. Fire Emblem Awakening really taught me how to use what is thrown at me without worrying about details 🙂

I am SO Happy! I finally found all the Flabebe flower colors, and though breeding, I found that the color is determined for the offspring based on the flower color of the mother (i.e. Flabebe, Floette, or Florges)
In short, if you want a rare color, let me know and I will breed it for you!

try to hatch eggs outside lumiose tower….it’s circular path so you just have to press right or left on the d-pad forever. I personally put paper weight on it. That way you don’t have to do anything the game will hatch it for you.

I think I’m gonna give up on 31/31/31/31/31/31 Froakie….if I find something 31/31/31/31/27/31 and higher. But I’ve seen tooooooo many 31/31/31/31/x/31 that are less -_-
IV Breeding must be so monotonous =/ I’m not really looking forward to doing it for Breloom, but I need a Technician Breloom so I can keep my other Breloom in Gen 5 and continue to beat the PWT.
breloom will be easy…but still you need 3 days. because you need 31/31/31/x/31/31….but 31/31/31/31/31/31 is gonna take forever because only 5 IV can be inherited, that means you are literrally relying on luck for the last one to randomly end up 31
I’m thinking of catching Brelooms in the Friend Safari (With Technician of course. Gonna use Gardevoir with Trace to see the ability). And then just checking their IVs for max Attack and Speed. Then I’ll give one parent the Power item for Attack, and the other the Power item for Speed. Then start breeding and take my luck from there. Hopefully I find one with great IVs across the board, so then I can Destiny Knot it and start breeding it with a Hoppip that knows Bullet Seed.

Thank you, just slightly confused by one thing. It says Males can only pass down their Hidden Ability with Ditto. But if I breed a Female and a Male Breloom together, both with their Hidden Ability of Technician, can I still get offspring with Technician?

Thanks for this. i was having a bit of trouble with the breeding thing. Maximum i can manage is 3 perfect IVs, but mostly only 2. I ended up settling with a Ferroseed with only 31 IVs in HP and Defence, and a Gooey Goomy with only 31 IVs in HP and Attack

I love HGSS, but the music is incredibly over produced. In FRLG, the music was improved and felt like the originals with a vibe that reminded me of the anime. In HGSS, I just feel like they made things different just to make them different, not to improve the song.
That’s not to say it’s all bad, just seemed like they didn’t need to change so much.
HGSS had my favorite soundfront. It felt better than Sinnoh’s slow music, and faster as well. I only used the GB Sounds when battling Red to make it feel more badass and epic. But I would have liked to have it earlier.
They over-remixed the Kanto Gym Leader theme in HG/SS imo.
I personally think they over-remixed Johto’s gym leader theme, as well as Lance’s.

Me too. Feels to slow paced for Lance. One of the reasons why I used the GB sounds when battling Red.
It lacked fluidity and felt choppy…BW2 was much more fluid but it needed a bit more of an oomph

I love BW2’s Lance theme. And Lance had a MUCH better team as well. God they fucked up on Lance’s aftergame team. Dragonbreath on Altaria at LV 73!

A cool trait I wish they did/could add in the future is giving each pokemon their own personality in amie o: like maybe based on their nature and characteristic. Unless I’m blind and never noticed they did or not, but .. I’m pretty certain they didnt XD
Like maybe the hasty pokemon can run around a lot, the modest pokemon can act shy, and the sassy pokemon can act like a tsundere *shot*

maybe it’s my eyes playing jokes on me but this is the second time I swear this happened.
First I had a female mawile, but during something.. [I think amie?] I later saw it was suddenly a male.. even though I knew it was a girl before because I named it Helena.
Just now, I was making a male sylveon, but then when I looked at its summary again, it’s suddenly a girl!
Am I going crazy or is this really a glitch? o.e
