All of the New Pokémon in Pokémon X&Y

New Pokémon

Notes: The image above was not made by me. It came from either 4chan’s /vp/ board or Reddit. Props to the creator, it is very well done.

More new Pokémon…?

Currently there are several Mega Stones that have been found, but the Pokémon has not: Druddigon, Heracross, and Galvantula. Profilic Pokémon Black & White leaker “Hiro” also said that Scizor would be getting one too. A legendary trio could also surface in Kalos as well as unseen downloadable Legendaries.

What do you think? Are you OK with the smaller number of “new” Pokémon? Do you like the concept of Mega Evolutions and their role in battles?

  2. Finally pre ordered my copy of X. And I know I said I wouldn’t look at spoilers but I thought “to hell with it” and looked and I love all the new Pokemon 😀 The only thing that saddens me is that Slurpuff and Aromatisse didn’t evolve again, though I still love them :3

  6. Who would be the psuedo legendary? None of these fit the criteria. You need to be a duel type, the final stage of a three stage evolutional line, and a base stat total of 600

    Reply
      • Well why is slaking not one then? He has a base stat total of 670 and is the final stage of his evolutionary line. Do not so because of truant because you cqn just get rid of it through gastro acid.

        Reply
    • Technically, the only one of those that really matter is the 600 BST. The other arent really “requirements” per se. Kinda like when one of the “requirements” was that they had to have attack as their highest stat but thats no longer the case.

      Reply
    • Since Pseudo-legend is a fanmade term, there is no official criteria for what is considered a Pseudo. The most Generally accepted criteria are a BST of 600, Slow Exp Gain, 3 Stage, high lvl evolutions, appearing close to legends in the Pokedex.
The fact that all the previous one’s were dual typed could have just been a coincidence. Granted that was the one criterion I liked because it made Pseudo-Legends that much more badass (Goodra definitely should have been Dragon/Poison). But oh well.

    • If there will ever be a trio in the games or in future games, I want this implemented in: The trio will be Fairy/Water type Mermaid Pokemon, all will run off when you meet them. BUT instead of finding them in the wild, you can only find them if you are fishing, surfing, OR if you use dive and go through the kelp. Good idea?

I saw this and I was like… COME ON! People don’t understand that first I don’t know for sure if there are only 69 new Pokemon, that’s not confirmed and if that’s true so what!? Theses Pokemon are all great! And btw, this is the FIRST, the FIRST Pokemon game for the 3DS and it has a lot of new stuff, stuff that we couldn’t even imagine… I’m a huge fan of Pokemon since I was a kid, and one of my best memories was spending the nights with my Sceptile in Emerald and as far as I recall Ruby and Saphire didn’t had much game after you beat the league and Emerald like Plantinum was a better version of the first to games! The very first Pokemon games didn’t had nothing after Mewtwo and people are complaining about that now!?
And making a game with more than 700 3D models, trying to appeal both the younger and us the older fans and giving new life to some of hour favourite pokemon of ALL time!
This is the first 3DS Pokemon game and it has a lot to offer and I believe that the next ones will be better but this one is already awesome!
You don’t grow up because you only loved the first Pokemon… You grow up because you grouw up with the franchaise, you grow up and Pokemon grows up with you, you change and so do they! growing up means still loving them and the changes and we also change!

    • Plus they say “Pandering to people that abandoned 20 years ago” yeah Pokemon hasn’t even been around for 20 years yet so definite troll/ignorant moron.

Edit: They also said “No story” “You can’t rebattle gym leaders” and “You can rebattle Elite 4 but their team doesn’t change” when for 1 the leakers haven’t said anything about the story because they want to leave that for fans to see themselves, 2 this person doesn’t even know if we can rebattle gyms or not, and 3 how would they know that the Elite 4’s teams do not change when they haven’t even played?!

      C is for their miss-carriage
K is for them being Kanto lovers and Gen-wunners

*If you love Kanto I don’t have a problem if you love it and hate everything then we have a problem*

Can someone else make a better one I don’t like cursing. :C I’m even sorry I WROTE THIS

    • Why is so many wrong in this picture… Like “You can’t ride a Pokémon everywhere!” instead of “Finally you can ride a Pokémon at all!” >_> Ungratefully, I think. It’s totally okay to dislike some things of that (if they are right at all), but to go out and yell “Don’t buy it!” is stupidos ._.

      • Or to say “I cancelled my Preorder because….” just to discourage people. It just shows they are more like trolls then fans sadly :/

        • Now hang on. How many Pokemon were revealed before Black and White came out? 55. How many are there in total? 156. How many were revealed before Diamond and Pearl came out? 30. How many in total? 107. I think we’ve only been given a taste of the Pokes of this Gen.

      • I completely agree. A few of those that were included in this game are great; a few not so…but that’s true of every generation. However, what made me really decide against buying any game this generation is that A) I’d have to buy a 3DS in order to play it, and the only other game currently planned for the system that I’d be interested in purchasing is the Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds; B) there are only 69 new Pokémon available, and the amount of differences between this generation and the last seems overkill in light of the scarcity of -new- species. None of the new ones are enough for me to think “69 new species is a bit sparse, but look at the quality of those we got given”; the trouble, really, is that none of them are so wonderfully-designed that they make up for the sheer lack of population. The other elements of the game, which obviously took a lot of planning and time to implement, also don’t make up for it; overall, while nobody would (I’m sure) buy a RB(G)Y-quality game w/ hundreds of new Pokémon and -not- feel short-changed these days, the thrill for most people in finding out about a new Pokémon game is that there are many, many new species available. What one can -do- in-game is secondary for most people (unless I’m way off-base in my reckoning). So…spending all of that time and effort on things like Pokémon-Amie, improving battle mechanics, and the like seems more like what might be offered in the second iteration games of a single generation – such as how Yellow advanced upon RB (and in Japan, how Blue advanced upon RG); how Crystal advanced upon GS; how Emerald advanced upon RS…etc. Instead of seeing second-iteration advancements, we see advancements in the first iteration – but apparently with the cost being an approximate 50% reduction in new species introduced. I like some of the mega-evolution designs, but effectively stating that an old Pokémon gets a new in-battle form (which is what mega-“evolutions” are) really isn’t a stand-in for a new Pokémon species at all. Clearly there were designers who sat down and rehashed old Pokémon designs, with the cynical intent being to snag old fans back into the franchise; why could designers not have spent as much time increasing the new output to 100 species? As a fan who -has- been w/ the franchise since RB…I can honestly say the focus on underscoring old species, rather than diversifying the overall Pokémon species bank as much as could have been done, has turned me completely -off-.
In other words…I totally agree. I’m not buying any of the new games. Not because I think they’re rubbish, not because I think Pokémon is somehow going off in the wrong direction, not because I’m a bastion of the old ways and like Generation 1; rather, because I really wanted to love Generation 6 and the actual number of Pokémon therein has left me feeling like there’re 31+ species slots left unfilled.

    • It’s funny, because all of the people saying this are people who HAVEN’T played the game. All of the leakers I’ve seen have said that they really enjoy the game. Also, there IS a story. I have no idea what this person is talking about. People need to wait until the game is actually out before whining like idiots about a game they haven’t even touched yet.

      Reply
      • So…the solution is: buy the game and make sure you don’t like it before you feel assured that your initial perception (whatever it may be) was correct?
That’s a good way for a company to register sales even when people have actually not felt so hot (again, for whatever reason) about the product they’re selling. People have every right to dislike something, just as people have every right to think it’s the greatest thing in the world. If you really feel so negatively towards those who dare criticise a product, that really says more about your inability to be objective and just say “well, it’s good by my standards. I can’t personally say I agree with their assessment. But then, they obviously don’t agree with mine. In the end, I’ll enjoy it, and they won’t. Carrying on…”

    • I remember Masuda saying that the game is actually pretty fast-paced and the battles feel more dynamic and less slow and boring to keep the players playing and stuff. 30 Hours is actually more than Kingdom Hearts 2 (which is pretty long) skipping cutscenes, which would be around 20 hours.

I can’t say I’m not a little disappointed by the fact that we only have 69 new Pokémon, but, from what i’ve seen so far (haven’t spoiled myself apart from the starter evos), all of them are pretty well designed and mostly cool, with some exceptions. *stares at Quilladin* (That’s just my opinion, though.)
The series isn’t 20 years old yet so the second “argument” is invalid.

Fairy typing and changing Steel weaknesses, along with some changing in Paralysis, Ghost Types, etcetera don’t count as Metagame balance, then?

Megas are a way to power up older pokémon and also give some forgotten ones a shine, such as Kangaskhan.

The post-game is huge according to Masuda, so this person is WRONG.
I’m okay with not rebattling gyms. Would be fun to do, but I rarely really feel like doing so. Buuut, would be cool to have it. Not really confirmed, as this person wouldn’t know anything about the game without playing it, and the leakers didn’t mention E4 rematches either.

      >No Story.
Sorry for the “greentext” that isn’t really green but, seriously? I haven’t spoiled myself but people are actually saying this one has a story as great as B/W or even R/S/E, which was that great because it was the first game in which you actually had a greater role in it!

      >No 3D Overworld
Again, sorry for the “greentext” that isn’t really green but honestly, this might be due to the size of the map, size of the file inside the cartridge, and a bunch of other stuffs including their time to finish the game before 10/12.

3D Battles are only 1 vs. 1? Where’d you hear that? I lurked a lot on /vp/ and didn’t see Josh or the other guy mentioning that.

Can’t you be happy that you’ll actually RIDE them and they’ll be useful and fun to travel with?

I understand that this would be really cool, especially with the Pokémon-Amie feature increasing your bond with the Poké, and the 3D models and stuff, but maybe they had too much to work on or just wanted that to be an unique feature on HG/SS. Or the code would take too much space?

LOOK AT ALL THE CUSTOMIZATION WE GOT? DO YOU REALLY CARE ABOUT NOT TAKING YOUR HAT OFF?

The game wasn’t rushed out either, because they could of started developing it since BW2 release, and only announced it on January, or even started sooner. I don’t know. Doesn’t look rushed out to me.

      • I’m not sure if this is true, but I heard the reason walking Pokémon wasn’t carried over to other Gens was because old fans complained that it took off the feeling of traveling alone/being in a lone journey.

        Reply
        • I don’t like that complaint, G_SANtos. although I understand if it took too much space, I really hope what you just said isnt the reason.

    • is it really true you cant remove your hat? I thought I saw screenshots on the PSS where some players had no hat?
also I kinda like the one about the e4’s team not changing, but only if their levels don’t increase. I kinda thought the e4 in gen 5 had levels too high. but then again in gen 3 I thought they were too low, now Id give anything for it to be back that way.

  9. So disappointed we only got about 70 new pokemon. Game freak dropped the ball in that department. All of the new pokemon are what make each generation. I mean the franchise is called POKEMON. Sad that they couldn’t bump it to 100. However these games will still be amazing and this new generation will still be as great if not greater than the ones before it
