All of the New Pokémon in Pokémon X&Y

New Pokémon

More new Pokémon…?

Currently there are several Mega Stones that have been found, but the Pokémon has not: Druddigon, Heracross, and Galvantula. Profilic Pokémon Black & White leaker “Hiro” also said that Scizor would be getting one too. A legendary trio could also surface in Kalos as well as unseen downloadable Legendaries.

What do you think? Are you OK with the smaller number of “new” Pokémon? Do you like the concept of Mega Evolutions and their role in battles?

  1. Am I the only one who thinks there’s gonna be several mega evolutions we won’t see for awhile?? Just like how blazikenite isn’t obtainable in gameplay, I’m sure there’s a bunch of other mega stones that we won’t see until they give them through mystery gift!

  2. What really gets me is how people keep complaining about the lack of a certain type of Pokemon like it’s the worst thing in the world. Each generation has a different ratio of Pokemon types, and this one was just a little unlucky to certain types. Also realize that there are less Pokemon overall, so that’s less of EVERY Pokemon you can choose from.

Yeah, this Generation has very few Poison and Ground types, but it makes up for it with a large amount of the types that have been neglected. Generation I had 3 Dragon types, while this one has 9… which is a whopping 13% of the Pokemon revealed. Likewise, we’re getting 5 Dark Types, and including the 2 preevolutions that aren’t Dark types (Froakie, Frogadier, and Pancham), they make up 12% of the dex. Fairy makes up a massive 17% of the Dex with 12 members and Ghost makes up 10% with 7 members. Darks, Dragons, Ghosts, and Fairy types (and their evolutions) make up a massive 52% of the Kalos Dex. That’s leaving ony 48% for the rest of the 14 types.

Kalos is a region where magical events seem to be the key here, so unfortunately some types which prevailed in earlier generations didn’t get as much representation. Kanto had Geodude, Cubone, Nidoking, Nidoqueen, Rhyhorn, and other Ground Pokemon, while Poison got all 6 Nidos, several bugs, most of the grass types, and Muk and co. The earlier regions were dominated by the older types, while the new ones finally get a chance to shine in the new region.

Also, if there were 150 new Pokemon, I could see people being upset by only 1 evolutionary line of a type. However, Gen I had only 2% dragon Pokemon, while the new Generation has 2.8% Ground types (4% considering Bunnelby sort of) and 2.8% Poison types.

      • Also, I do want to say that I don’t mind people like you who love a certain type and are disappointed in its representation- I love Fire types but I can’t fill a team with the new ones! I just don’t like when people act like it’s the end of the world. You’ve been great though EarthenWarrior 😀

        • I’m getting X and my favorite type is poison…

Looks like i’ll be sticking with good old Bulbasaur as there’s no new poison types for me.

I feel sorry for Bug and Ground fans as Diggersby and Vivillon don’t look that great.

          • Try trading for a Skrelp. I’m sure there will be a lot of people wanting to trade a Skrelp for a Clauncher on the GTS! And yes, Bulbasaur is awesome.

In Gen IV, Fire Pokemon were completely ignored ingame- I think the only decent ones were Ponyta and Chimchar! I got over it, but it was annoying at the time.

  3. I’m so curious to find out Xerneas’s stats are and whether it has any other signature moves as I love it so much. Awesome week lying ahead, house of hades tomorrow, ritz on Wednesday, drama trip Thursday, Friday, well nothing, and then Saturday I will begin my amazing adventure into x and y with new pokemon which I am familiar with on a completely new region 😀

  4. Is it too late to tell everyone that my dad works for Game Freak and has a lot of juicy leaks he told me that I wish to tell you?

  5. To be completely honest, I agree with this thing I read on /vp/, it is probably gone now, but it was basically saying how GameFreak knows about the leaks and will give us more as an “update” on Day One and this was all for the hype train.

  6. Some questions.
    1. Is the Circle Pad set to Auto Rollerskates? If yes can it be turned off?
    2. Are there running shoes as well or do the rollerskates replace them?

I’m just wondering because I prefer using the circle pad these days, but I’m not too keen on using rollerskates. It doesn’t appeal to me? But if they replace the shoes I guess I’ll have to.

  7. Even though I am majorly disappointed with the idea of there only being 69 new Pokemon, my dream of a poison/dragon has finally been fulfilled!

  8. Remember those times during the stat leak of Black and White? Everyone were screaming and yelling because the stats weren’t balanced and some Pokemon were too OP? Well, why are haters over-looking that now? Each and every Pokemon on Kalos is distributed a given stat that is overwhelming because if you have seen those leaks, Kalos Pokemon are OP! To haters, you think of the most simple things and start an argument over it now you got your wish of having balanced stats.
