All of the New Pokémon in Pokémon X&Y

New Pokémon

Notes: The image above was not made by me. It came from either 4chan’s /vp/ board or Reddit. Props to the creator, it is very well done.

More new Pokémon…?

Currently there are several Mega Stones that have been found, but the Pokémon has not: Druddigon, Heracross, and Galvantula. Profilic Pokémon Black & White leaker “Hiro” also said that Scizor would be getting one too. A legendary trio could also surface in Kalos as well as unseen downloadable Legendaries.

What do you think? Are you OK with the smaller number of “new” Pokémon? Do you like the concept of Mega Evolutions and their role in battles?

  1. At first, I was really annoyed at GameFreak about the low amount of new Pokemon. But after thinking about it for a while. I rather have 70 well designed Pokemon than 100+ Pokemon with forgettable filler Pokemon and useless pre evolutions. Look how popular Goomy’s evolution line has gotten before the Games have released! Though I do think GameFreak went overboard with mega evolutions.

  2. I think practically all the new designs are awesome, but the number of pokemon still bugs me, especially when I realise it’s less than HALF what gen V brought. Here’s wishfully hoping for loads of secret evos, a few cool secret legendaries and a bunch of regular pokemon hidden in the games code until their availability in Z. But realistically I just hope we don’t get such a low number again.

  3. Just working out that their’s only 35 evolution lines this Gen including standalones really urks me, but the fact that the Pokemon this time around are all great, I don’t really have a problem with 70.

    • Nintendo of america threatened to sue Serebii when it leaked Black and White pics back in 2010. That’s why they’re not leaking anything unofficial now.

  4. Guys, the number of new pokemon should’t bug you, because we have mega evolutions and all the designs are epic. in Gen V we got 100% and most of the designs were lazy or just bad.

  5. If you don’t count legendaries there is only 1 new Ground type (Diggersby) 1 new poison evo line (Skrelp and it’s evo) and 1 new bug evo line…

  6. While the original image was made by someone on 4chan or something, that particular image is made by me (s2daam @ serebiiforums) ‘cos I took the idea and made it more cohesive imo 😛 But I don’t need any credit or anything :L

I am loving the Pokémon we have and I guess I would prefer quality to quantity this gen I just wish we had more types (pure or mixed)

  8. I’m actually pretty satisfied with all the new pokemon. they all look great and i’d rather have a small number of pokemon worth getting than a ton of new pokemon which aren’t any different from each other. and besides, with almost all the older pokemon being in 3d, I get to see all of my favorites in a new way 🙂
    i’m excited

  9. Help me out people… Something in the math is not making any sense to me. Apparently Zygarde is number 718 in the dex and the last. That means that these 69 are the ONLY pokemon from the generation (besides event). While it’s possible we don’t have new pokemon, THERE MUST be a legendary trio right? how is this possible

      • I am hoping the pumpkaboo line is quick enough for this attack to be over-powered! I just know it will be able to learn shadow ball!

        • A potential problem is using this on a Pokemon that already has Shadow Ball. Then it will STAB Shadow Ball Pumpkaboo itself and that will make a mess of things.

          • Ooh, hadn’t thought of that. Though, it shouldn’t happen TOO often it definitely makes the move more complex.

          • Ha, that was my first thought. I was like “Here you go, a type change! It’ll make you KO me easier!” 😛

  10. I like almost all of them, there are a couple of them that are just hideous looking to me (I’m looking at you binacle, you certainly look like a Telefang Denju), and as I see it, when a Gen introduces few pokémon (like Gen II) those gens are the most awesome ones; I bet this Game has aftergame pokémon that haven’t been discovered yet and about the legendaries, The fewer, the better Because that gives the new legends more depth and presence, there’s no need for “the legendary of apple pies or the legendary of hand sanitizer” (*ajem* phione and manaphy) thingys.

My only real disappointment is that neither Heliolisk nor Pyroar got an evolution, but that Poison/Dragon Pokémon is gonna be in my team 😀

  11. Josh just mentioned that he could have seen the Legendary Wolf. If it turns out to be an Ice type, then kudos to the Pokejungle staff on the article from a while ago.
