Pokémon Smash will be airing soon in Japan, this episode we’re not expecting much in terms of news, and as such we will not provide live coverage, a stream will be available below, however. This will be the final episode of Pokémon Smash, with a new series taking place after today.

Eiher way i really hope to get my computer fix so i can upload X/y wifi battle because i really want to entertain people with my very high quality content not trying to show off or anything i’m just upset about my computer but i can wait for the X/y meta game when the game come out, 🙂
Whether they ban Mega Evolutions will likely depend on just how broken they really are. OK, Mega Blaziken, I could see them banning it in a heartbeat, but we can’t speak for the others just yet. Not until we know exact stats and all their possible moves.
From what we’ve saw so far they look pretty broken; I’m worried.

Hm. Might be why they are item changes.. There are usually some way to change the rules of battles, so maybe there will be an option to ban Mega Stones, or at least certain Mega Stones if some Mega Pokemon aren’t as entirely overpowered as others. Have the Blazikenite blocked, for instance, and then you don’t have to worry about someone bringing in that op monster, for instance. I dunno. I’m almost certain there will be a way to play with the option turned off for all players if they want to, but as long as everyone has Mega Pokemon, they should be able to fight each other.
Ampharos “needing” Trick Room, I don’t see it being banned at all.

I’m actually mad about the fact that MegaEvolution isn’t a balancing mechanism 🙁
It may be.. but so far it just looks like a new way to spice up the game and make battles easier.. It looks like it will turn into what Yugioh started off as an attack power game.. just use the Strongest mega there is and throw it out first and slaughter your opponents team… I hope not though
I think I like the Mega’s So Far but I will have to be Super gutsy and Not care about my rank to Ever use one of my unevolved Pokes online now because fully evolved Megas are getting 1 hit Ko’d -__- makes me very sad.

No, because Mega Ampharos has Mold Breaker. This means its moves bypass the target’s Ability. In this case, the fact that Thunder wasn’t super effective on Shedinja meant nothing, as Mold Breaker stopped Wonder Guard from activating.

No it was because of Mold Breaker. Without Mold Breaker, Thunder wouldn’t have hit it either, only super effective moves can hit Shedinja, without some way to nullify it’s ability.

Does anyone know if the Dragon Pulse on Gogoat by Mega Ampharos was a critical hit?
Ugh. Silly me, each time a Pokemon was shown that hasn’t had a MegaEvo revealed yet, I got excited. MEGARHYPERIOR! No? MEGASLOWBRO! No? MEGASHEDINJA!! No?? 🙁 That last one really hurt because Shedinja is another one of my top 6 favorites (along with Mr. Mime, Golduck, Houndoom, Walrein, Eelektross and Mienshao)
Only one Mega Pokemon allowed during a battle lol. Once Blaziken and Ampharos Mega Evolved, it was disappointment. But still cool to see the battle 😀

They found out that Joey’s rattata had top IV’s, actually making it top percentage. The only reason it was easy to kill was because rattata are just really weak. But rattata is just really weak. Thats why ity was easy to kill
Chespin hoodie! Make it happen GameFreak! I think character customization is the best feature of X & Y. It looks so awesome!! Especially in the commercials. We might not have gotten it or would have lost something else if there was a 3D overworld so I’m as happy as a Chespin!

I don’t know if anyone noticed this but Slowbro’s ice beam barely did half to Gogoat,
but Mega Ampharos’s Dragon Pulse did more than 3/4 and it wasn’t even a
critical hit? How can this possibly be? I did some calculations and this made no sense to me.
Mega Evolutions are like Legendary Pokemon.
AND MegaAmpharos gets stab from Dragon Pulse where SlowBro doesn’t….(although I guess there’s the x2 super effective factor)

Because they always focus on the fact that it gets a new type. But all MegaPokemon have been shown to get a boost in some stats, I don’t see why Ampharos would be any different

Mega Evolutions make regular Pokemon have power close to Legendary Pokemon! Masuda even said so himself. Also, Gogoat seems to have some good Defense! Yet again, Slowbro has no stab on Ice Beam! Mega Ampharos has some amazing Special Attack also!

No, I don’t think that’s the case. MegaGarchomp has its speed decrease, that’s been confirmed. I think only the ones mentioned increase (like MegaMawile Def and Spec Def) but I just think they haven’t mentioned which increase for MegaAmpharos
Then from my calculations Mega Ampharos had to have atleast base 190 SpAtk in order to do atleast 3/4 to Gogoat
There’s too many unknown variables. Besides, the highest SpAtk ever so far was 180 and that’s forme Deoxys and for that he has 50 hp and 20 Sp.Def. Second highest is Mewtwo with 154…I doubt MegaEvolutions will make Pokemon STRONGER than Legendaries
I did a test case with Slowbro ice beam on a +spdef meganium 252 hp and 252 spdef…I got 37-40% damage and then I compared to Ampharos modest 252 spatk dragon pulse stab, it did less

We don’t know the stats of Mega Ampharos. Also, many Special moves will be getting a Power and Accuracy change. All of your calculations wouldn’t work well!

I think that’s the thing about Splash though. It’s not even really an ‘attack.’ Bubble you are at least hitting them with something, Splash is just someone jumping/flopping up and down like a moron in place. The closest thing it would be to an attack is you weaponize it with Flail, at least visually it works with Magikarp it going from splashing to flailing.
Magikarp can learn Splash, Flail, and Tackle. Also, Judgement! I forgot about that!

That doesn’t really work for me, cuz the first 6 pokemon I get will be the first 6 Pokemon you run into in the game…I don’t move from one area to another until I’ve caught all Pokemon in that area.

If we don’t get a peacock pokemon this gen., I will be extremely disappointed. Peacocks are known to symbolize both beauty (X) and death (Y), so if we don’t get one, someone over at GF needs a good smack to the face. :/

I really really want a Fairy/Dark Pokemon. Though, Dark/Fairy, probably, just due to the design influence, but I think that could be an awesome Pokemon. That, and Fairy and Dark complement each other fairly nicely in terms of STAB.
