Pokémon Smash has revealed that Junichi Masuda will appear on the show on the 15th of this month. The episode will be a special one named XY Institute Special, and will showcase some more Mega Evolutions. We will be covering the episode live. Most stuff will probably already be revealed in Corocoro, which is due to leak in a few days, most likely the beginning of next week.
Update: Wes pointed out that Masuda-san will also be on stage to talk about the XY Anime. Which is actually less shocking and more interesting news. Remember, the anime will begin airing October 17th, the week after the games get released.
I think this truly deserves the Shocking News title, nobody would have thought Smash was doing a special! Keep checking back for more possible news and opinions on Pokémon XY. In the meantime, discuss what they could possible reveal in the comments! (but don’t spam ok, or else i’ll be sad 🙁 )

Oh. My. God. Grass-Dragon would be amazing but they didn’t give it to Charizard who is more dragon like… I’m just praying all starters get mega evos but most of all the hoen starters. Although, they might not even give us the rest of the Hoen starter mega evos till the remakes of Ruby/Saphire/Emerald (if there are any) just to give us a reason to buy them. Well, you never know what might happen but that would be kick ass to have Sceptile be grass/dragon. Blazinken came out kick ass enough I wonder how the other two will turn out… cant wait!!!

Grass/Dragon would fall so hard to ice types that it wouldn’t even make my team. To each his own though.
Sceptile can learn a wide variety of moves to cover for its Ice weakness:
Brick Break, Rock Tomb, Low Sweep, Focus Blast, Rock Slide, Rock Smash, and Iron Tail in gen 3 and 4 by TM or Tutor in gen 4 and 5. Tutoring moves are Low Kick and Drain Punch. It can slo learn Double Kick by breeding.
Signs indicate it’s Mega Evolution will be Grass/Dragon, because it can Dragon Claw by TM, Dragon Breath by breeding, Dragon Pulse and Outrage by Tutoring.

Well, it depends really. Sure, he’s 4x weak to Ice, but then again, so is Dragonite, Salamence, and Garchomp. He’s already phenomonally fast, give him some attacking stat boosts, a good ability, he’d be just fine.
I’m actually hoping that will happen if we get Mega Serperior, since it was originally supposed to be a Grass/Dragon type until Game Freak thought it’d be a bad idea to get a Dragon pokémon that early on in the game

I don’t see how he can be more powerful than Drought Charizard or Speed Boost Blaziken… I feel like they’re going overboard with the fire starters now.

it would be the most logical since torchic was revealed. It’s only fair that mudkip and treecko get mega stones. Maybe it will be an event to choose which hoen starter to mega evolve, who knows. it would be awesome to start the game off with three starters, already half a team right there.

I’d prefer more new, original Pokemon as opposed to Megas. Don’t get me wrong, I love the concept but, there is such as thing as having too much of a good thing.

True, I love the idea of MegaEvolution but now pokemon that needed an actual evolution wont get one *cries for mawile and absol* BUTTT It’s just one thing that I sort of dislike, besides that everything else is amazing! Not everything’s going to be perfect but, hey, this game is going to be 99.9% perfect.

Since zoroark is my fave poke I might be biased they could up his def and sp def make his speed higher and him a new ability like zoroark can change his looks and type according to the opposing pokemon and make him dark electric theability could be called hyper adapt

I’ll be pleased if CoroCoro focuses more on a handful of new pokemon and some gym leaders, and Smash presents some mega evolutions (but we all know 90% of the time they just regurgitate CoroCoro’s info, so it’s not likely xD).

It would be entertaining if they revealed the Mega Evolutions for them before their first or second stage evolutions.
At the least it would give us something of an idea for what the second stage actually is. But that would be rather trollish, I think I could say just about everyone would really want to know their real evolutions and not their battle super forms.
Megas are cool and all, but I just want to see New Pokemon, and new regular evolutions to old Pokemon. 😛

Part of me really wants corocoro to be leaked as early in the week as possible but I also really want it to be leaked on wednesday so I can wake up to a bunch of news and have an awesome birthday :3 Yeah I kind of doubt smash is going to reveal anything new at all…who really knows though
