The new Pokémon anime series will start within the Kalos Region’s expansive Lumiose City and Ash will again be competing in the region’s Pokémon League. Ash and Pikachu have been shown in promotional materials, but any sidekicks (new or returning) have yet to be shown. The series starts on October 17th in Japan, although Noivern will be debuting in an upcoming episode of Pokémon Best Wishes: Decolora Adventure! on August 15th.

  1. I would like to clear up some things on オーロット, or Aulotte, and where it was shown.

1.The supposed Aulotte was seen by the Japanese twitter user in an XY gameplay commercial before the prescreen of the Genesect movie.

2.He gives us a somewhat useful description and says: ” looked kinda like Beeheeym but uglier.”

3.The twitter user has a picture of his DS downloading the shiny Genesect that would be available to those who go to the theaters with their DS in hand.

at this point I’m holding on updating the post. I might update the post later with this and some other tidbits.

  2. I love his new look, in fact it is one of my favorite outfits of his. I wonder what starter he will have, and if Team Rocket will return in this series (like always) although, I hope they blast off more. I really hope Ash gets Chespin, he is my favorite out of the starters, but I can see him getting any starter. If he were to get each starter I would imagine it like this: Chespin would be like Oshawott (The funny one), Fennekin would be like Snivy (The cool and slick one), and Froakie would be like Tepig (Has some good power, and will probably receive a back-story.)

  3. Also, they announced the X and Y movie will come out Summer 2014, not only that, but there are two new 3DS XL’s coming out in October. They will be Red or Blue with Xerneas or Yveltal featured on them.

  4. never seen the Kalos starters look so… aggressive

Froakie looks ready for battle, Chespin has a take on all comers expression and, Fennekin looks just plain feral
But i’ve never turned down a pokemon with a battling spirit!

  5. If you see carefully the image of the starters, you can see how Froakie has one hand inside of his cloud, like looking for something to use. I read months ago that his final form would be, Water/Dark type, and look like a thief, with a bigger cloud on his back, looking like a big sack to steal things. Just say that this image seems to corroborate that theory,

    • I’ve heard theories that it will be a water/fighting ninja. If that’s the case, it could be looking for weapons (kunai, shuriken, smoke bombs, etc.).

    • If it’s the PokéBeach leaks, WPM’s source mixed up Froakie and Chespin’s final forms’ types and noticed later. WPM already corrected the info, Froakie will evolve Water/Fighting and Chespin into Grass/Dark.

There are theories that Froakie is based on Jiraiya, a folklorical ninja that uses shapeshifting magic to morph into a giant toad. Looking at Froakie’s stance in this picture, it really resembles a ninja. If the theory is correct, then I guess the Japanese name of Froakie’s final form will be Keraiya.

  7. I hated Unova in the Anime
the one thing i was waiting for was the Unova League and they finish it off with 5 episodes and they weren’t even good and he lost like an idiot i hope they step it up in the next anime if they don’t i’ll stop watching

  8. I hope they use some of the elements from BW just better executed. For example the development of the pokemon (the 1 thing the anime has over the pokemon adventures manga). Some pokemon didn’t show much personality outside of the episode it was caught. Boldore and Palpitoad are the best examples. Another good element that was good but not well executed was Ash catching more than just 5 more pokemon. It was a good idea but poorly executed because for the most part because Ash’s team would consist of Pikachu, the 3 starters and scraggy with the last slot filled with either Unfezant, Boldore, Leavanny, Krookadile or Palpitoad. I can understand Pikachu because he’s Ash’s 1st pokemon and i could understand Scraggy because he was the baby and needed to stay at all times to improve his battle skills. But other than those 2 Ash should have switched around the starters with his reserves. Especially when Ash has 2 different pokemon of the same type (snivy and leavanny as well as oshawott and palpitoad). Another good idea was the addition of the battle clubs. After learning that you could battle trainers there and train the way Ash did for his rematch against Lenora i thought we would see more of that but we barely saw any of that. Also it was a good idea to add all of the battle club tournaments. BW had plenty of great ideas in it but weren’t executed that well hopefully they will fix that in the XY anime.

  9. I truly wanted this new season to have better animation, doesn’t seem it will improve much though sadly.. ( -_-)

    • We can’t really tell too much with just these pictures so it could still be improved a little more. But i do hope that most of the episodes will be animated by Masaaki Iwane, he is hands down the best animation director the show has because most episodes animated by him are always really fluid (he animated the 2nd and 3rd episode of sinnoh league Ash vs Paul.) I wish they could stick with just him as animation director but they don’t. I wonder if its a budget thing. Maybe the more fluid the animation the more it costs?

  10. Water frog dude reaching for his weapon in the bubble cloud, grass chipmunk dude being an evil overlord, and fire fox dude using its mind to destroy.Or water dude stealing, grass dude using his teleknetic powers, and fire dude getting fierce for battle, or water using his bubble cloud which is actually his brain, grass being all like “what up ” and fire being sinister. this tooooooootally means that we have our fighting dark psychic trio.

  11. The pants look kinda strange to me, maybe it’s just the pose and angle. I just really want them to evolve ash’s pokemon. I know there is the factor that having the cute starters stay sell them more but ahhh it would be great to see him have a full evolved team for once during the main story not at the end or past the main events. vov
    And gosh at least a good sign of him winning the league. I don’t think they realize having him winning a league does not mean his goal has been reached and they have to end his story, it’s just a step ‘twords his dream. It’s nice that when he loses they show he grows more but that shouldn’t require him losing so much…vov;

  13. One thing I don’t think is being mentioned is Ash’s hat in the new anime looks a lot like Red’s hate from Fire Red/Leaf Green.

    Through
my friend’s position at TV Tokyo, he was recently able to learn
information regarding the Pocket Monsters X and Y Anime via a closed
press conference that was recently held, around the same time the
official site updated with the first information regarding Satoshi’s
redesign and the official logo, and was shown a quick teaser trailer
around a minute in length as well as learn the central cast list. Here’s
the information he has shared with me. He informs me that in the coming
month the trailer he saw is due to air publicly during a July episode
of the anime, but is unsure of the exact date, and the official site
will probably update with the cast list following that.

    * The
trailer had the new series theme playing, which is called BOUNDARY
BREAKERS, written out in romanji, sung by Rica Matsumoto. He described
it as very techno sounding, with a synthesized man’s voice regularly
speaking out English words alongside Matsumoto’s singing. No information
on the Ending Theme was provided.

    * Rica Matsumoto, Ikue Ōtani,
Shinichirō Miki, Megumi Hayashibara, and Inuko Inuyama all return as
main cast members voicing Satoshi, Pikachu, Kojirō, Musashi, and Nyasu
respectively. Team Rocket are shown wearing new white outfits that are
more modern in appearance, but seem to be the same Team Rocket as in
    past seasons.

    * Mamoru Miyano is also returning as Dent, but he
will not be a main cast member. He’s shown briefly in the trailer
alongside Satoshi, both wearing their BW outfit and seemingly getting
off a boat, so he most likely will depart from the group at some point
but will presumably keep in touch.

    *
Tierno, Toroba, and Sana are joining as main cast members, played by
Kenichi Suzumura, Shizuka Ishikawa, and Yōko Hikasa. They join up with
Ash and all of them form a team called “P-1000”, apparently this may be
based off a new game play multi-player component? Satoshi battles and
uses their Pokemon as well as his own, with Tierno assisting with
choreography, Toroba the brains, and Sana the practice partner and
leader. Apparently they wanted to give each member a part of the show
and allow Satoshi to grow with the help of others.

    * “Professor
Sekoia” is a reoccurring cast member voiced by Tomokazu Sugita,
presumably the new Professor. He’s shown in the trailer as a fairly
young man in a lab-coat who is shown pointing out the Starters to
    Satoshi and Sana.

    * The new Rival is named “Shin”, voiced by Shu
Watanabe (I don’t know who this is, but he’s “Kamen Rider OOO”?) in his
first major anime voice acting role. My friend states that Shu Watanabe
was present and introduced at the conference, and he talked about how
he was a fan of the series and was interested in voicing a character,
thus “Shin” was created with him in mind. Shin is a world traveler
Trainer who plays a guitar, and Watanabe’s singing voice will be put to
    good use.

    * There’s a lot of CG present; all the Pokeballs
appear to be CG, one scene shows Harimaron using Roll-Out and going CG,
and a big aerial fight with CG Spear facing off against CG Yayakoma.

    *
Satoshi is shown with Pikachu and Yayakoma; Tierno has Harimaron and
Vanipeti; Toroba has Fokko; and Sana has Keromatsu and Flabébé. Yamchan,
the Vivillion line, and Shishiko appeared, as well as three Pokemon he
didn’t recognize and probably are being revealed in July, one appeared
to be the new rodent, a chunky rat looking creature that bounced on a
springy tail; one was what looked like a flying saucer and had a little
smiling head popping out the top; and the third was a smaller Gogoat
    looking creature.

  16. I’m so tired of satoshi being the protagonist Why don’t they do the same stuff they do with the manga? they do change characters every now and then to give the series some fresh air. well…
