  1. I like his new look. It makes him look just a little older and I hope that means he’ll start acting like he did in DP where he actually knew stuff and was somewhat competent. At this point in the show I like it when old and new collide and it shows just how much he’s grown over the series. He can act goofy and stupid at times, that’s just his personality, but when it comes down to battling I think they need to show that he actually has experience and knows what he’s doing. By the time the show hit DP they had taken a number of steps forward. BW took just as many steps or even more back in a lot of ways…….

  2. hmmmmm my original comment was deleted. Oh well I like the new look for him. He looks a little older. I hope that means he acts like he did in DP where he actually knew what he was doing and was more competent in battling.

    • Ash isn’t that bad in BW. Sure he’s not as good as DP (mainly because unova was kind of like semi-reboot aka kanto 2.0) The best examples i can give are the 3rd,5th,& 7th gyms. Also Ash’s league battle with Stephan.

      • when a veteran pokemon like pikachu loses in a battle with a snivy that just started even with out electric moves. ash was bad in BW not to this pikachu has taken out legendary pokemon

        • In the Clay gym battle when oshawott was blinded by sandstorm was told it to spin using water gun to get rid of the sandstorm then pointed straight upward so it could rain back down and clean oshawott’s eyes. In that same battle he used roggenrola knowing with it’s sturdy ability it would help tank against Clay’s excadrill. In his battle with Burgh swadloon wasn’t that evasive of a pokemon so Ash told it to use string shot on nearby object to pull itself out the way in order to doge attacks. In the first gym battle when oshawott lost his scalchop within some distance. Ash commanded oshawott to use watergun and ricochet the scalchop back to it. In his battle against Brycen to counter cryogonal’s rapid spin Ash told pignite to aim for the center of its rotation with fire pledge. In his gym battle against Elesa knowing that her tynamo could only tackle in a straight line told pikachu to use thunderbolt on the battle field to make it jagged and rocky so pikachu could wait for the perfect timing to dodge and attack. When Ash battled Roxie he told Leavanny to use energy ball to lower her koffing’s sp.def. Then used string shot to stop from moving and reel in for another close range energy ball. In ash’s leauge battle against Stephan he taught palpitoad sludge wave to poison zebstrika as well as confusing it with supersonic. In that same battle Ash told leavanny to use string shot to wrap Sawk up to bulk up would not work. Again in that same battle Ash taught Krookadile aerial ace to take out sawk.

With all of that being said Ash was not all that bad in BW. And Pikachu losing to Snivy was explained with the fact that pikachu couldn’t use electric type attacks and both ash and pikachu were confused because of it . This is why you can hardly count that first match. It would have been worse if Zekrom didn’t take pikachu’s electricity away. Now if pikachu didn’t get its electricity taken away i would agree but since that didn’t happen i don”t.

          • i know levels don’t get taking into count in the anime but where talking a least lvl.50 pikachu against a lvl 5 snivy a magikarp could win with those odds the fact that they reset ash as a trainer was dumb. they made him out to be a rookie trainer i.e Without thinking, he throws a Poké Ball with out trying to weaken it first in BW ep.02 and it happens not once but twice. once he hit iris and second at a Deerling the only other time this ever happened was in kanto when he first began(and don’t retort that he was excited to see new pokemon cause it never happened in johto, hoenn,or sinnoh)

          • Actually Ash did try to catch a pokemon without battling out of excitement in Hoenn. In the episode where Ash caught his sceptile Ash tried to catch a random wild treecko just by throwing the pokeball at the beginning of the episode. And i just re-watched the episode to make sure i was right. I know you said levels aren’t taken into account but its more like they dont exist period anynmore. The only time levels were stated to be like in the games were the first few episodes of kanto and 1 episode in johto. From then on levels dont exist in the same way in the anime as the games. In the anime its not treated as a number. Either way i still stand by my opinion of Ash not being that bad in BW and the fact that pikachu losing to a snivy because it COULD’NT use electricity is better than Ash losing if pikachu could have used electricity.

          • if a black belt in karate could beat a novice with only one arm with a cold, then ashes pikachu could have beaten a snivy with no battle experience with only quick attack and iron tail

          • I’m not saying that the battle wasn’t bullcrap I’m just saying that the justification to it made it not that bad and that BW Ash isn’t that bad. Based on the fact that Trip basically represented a prodigy i think what they should have done is let Ash win the first battle then trip gets pissed and leaves to train a a crap ton. And then Trip could beat Ash the other times. But my main point is that BW Ash wasn’t that bad and that Pikachu vs Snivy was at least somewhat justified. Also did you even look at my statement to why BW Ash isn’t that bad? I ask this because you keep throwing the same thing at my face despite the fact i have made a counter argument. Although i did like your black belt metaphor are you said black belt or did you just think of that?

          • I dunno, maybe Zekrom weakend Pikachu more than just by taking its electrical abilities away, I mean Pickachu is completely an electric type, maybe it weakened its entire being and that was the point of them making Ash lose. No even tries to consider this as a possibility. I think they were showcasing the legendaries ability to absorb energy like electricity with it regeneration tail thing

          • Do remember though that Snivy left its old trainer because she felt they weren’t strong enough, she knew a really powerful move from the first episode we met her..

        • He does look younger without the legs. But on an interesting note there is a lock of hair over Ash’s right ear. That could be due to either an improved animation style or he may actually age. With that and the fact he looks older there is a slim chance he will be 11.

    • Ash wasn’t that bad in BW. He did plenty of smart things. Sure maybe not as much as Hoenn an Sinnoh but he isn’t that bad in BW.

      • At least he wasn’t as bad as Cameron ‘hurr durr I’ve won all 8 badges and made it to the championships but screw type advantages!’

The guy throws out a Ferrothorn to battle a Pignite. And we’re expected to believe he defeated the Gym Leaders of Unova? I know the audience of this show has and always will be children, but I’m pretty sure even a six year old pokemon player was watching that episode and shaking their head in despair.

  3. I really hope ash gets Froakie on his team and fully evolves it. Im dying for a series of Pokemon where Ash has a fully evolved water starter 🙂 Please let it happen ! 🙂

    • yes because he has a squartle, totodile, he didnt get a mudkip and piplup, and oshawott is the best pokemon water and he never evolve into a dewott

      • Lord knows if Ash had a Feraligatr I would be just too happy. Oshawott is not the best water Pokémon but has a certain charm I love about him in the animé 🙂 That being said so did squirtle with the squirtle squad and his sunglasses, totodile with his RANDOM DANCING ( icarly fans 😉 ) and Oshawott with his masculine edge and soft lovey dovey side hahah 😀

      • I wouldn’t mind Ash having Chespin and Froakie, But if they were every considering giving him just 2 starters, id be like…. ah come on just give him all 3 haha 😛 🙂

  4. I don’t know if anybody else knows this but supposely a new trailer appeared durring the movie and it showed a new Pokemon. As for the new series, I’m not really intrested since the ENTIRE series(this imcludes the earlier seasons with Misty and Brock) is mediocre at best.

  5. Now if only they could make the anime appear in America at the same time.. it would make the game sell more around release

        • Hey if you didn’t get it fixed yet, I might be able to help. I work in GameStop in Ireland. Try these steps, sorry in advance if they don’t work but u will be surprised how often I fix these haha, 1) Make sure the 3DS has full power / is Fully Charged AND IS TURNED OFF. 2) Hold the power button for roughly 9-10 seconds. 3) The blue light should flash, if it doesn’t stop holding the power switch anyway. The screen should be black ( but noticeably on *slightly less black than if the 3DS was turned off ) 4) Ur 3ds should Power on 🙂 😀 Let me know 🙂

          • Ok don’t worry. are u in the same country u bought it in ? eg can u return to the store ? if yes then u have a 3 month warranty so ur fine BUT you need the receipt. If you don’t BUT you paid by visa/laser or on credit. get a credit note/bank statement showing the purchase. then you are 100% covered. If however you are past the 3 months then im sorry you just got unlucky and the ds broke 🙁 and if you paid by cash and cant find the receipt then all I can say is FIND THE RECEIPT :p if not ask VERY politely for them to check the CCTV camera on the day you purchased it ( recall the time as best you can for their convienience and yours 🙂 ) 😀 🙂

        • Hmm, well that’s not really much I can suggest. If you’re able to contact support or something. You should have a warranty that covers it. If you’re not in the US though and you bought it whilst over there I’m not sure it still applies. Still, contact Nintendo Support, I’m sure they can help.

There’s not really anything I can do other than tell you to contact those sadly 🙁

Also make sure to search around online to see if anyone else has reported the problem, and if there’s a known solution.
