Paul needs to stop procrastinating and has to bring out the article as soon as he can. There, I said it. But I’ve been teasing you guys for too long, and it’s still stuck in the final pit stop.
Those things aside, it’s time to talk about starters. And by that I mean the main game starters, the grass/water/fire trio’s and Pikachu of course. What are your favorite choices each generation, and who is your favorite starter of all time? Do you also have a type you favor? And as a last hint: which generation has the best starters?
I’m slowly recovering of the flu, and I still have a headache and I’m really tired, so I’m going to bed as I publish this. You guys can comment while I’m enjoying my dreams. I hope I can trust you in holding a civilised discussion.

Generation with the best starters:
I think 4th gen had really strong designs.
I personally love all the starters, and subsequently the starters are my favorite Pokemon as a whole. It’s very hard for me to choose favorites, but I’ll do my best…
By Gen – Squirtle, Totodile, Mudkip, Turtwig, Oshawott
Type – Water (Duh)
Overall – Totodile
Now I’m looking over my choices and fighting back the urge to scrap it all. Here’s the thing: I like to play each generation with a team consisting of all three starters of that Gen. They all have so much personality and each inspire sooooo many good memories of my playthroughs (because I’ve played through each respective game with each starter at some point or another).
Basically… I love starters.

I can’t answer that question without my brain tearing in 5. 😡

Well…
It looks like HTML tags work quite well here.

bulbasaur (#001!), totodile, treecko, turtwig, snivy
Who is your favorite starter of all time?
snivy
Do you also have a type you favor?
grass, obviously. lol
Which generation has the best starters?
while gen 4 did have the 2nd fire/fighting starter in a row, i liked how each had a secondary type that helped it against the one it was weak to. then again, you can’t argue with mudkip.
What are your favorite choices each generation,
1 Bulbasaur
2 Cyndaquil
3 Mudkip
4 Chimchar
5 Oshawott
Who is your favorite starter of all time?
Mudkip
Do you also have a type you favor?
Em…not really when it comes to starters.. my favorite type is water but when it comes to starters i tend to pick based on on design, secondary typing and overall effectiveness with the generation… rather than on my preference for water types.
Which generation has the best starters?
OH GAWD WHY DO YOU ASK THIS!! lol… em id have to say em… oh gawd it would have to be a very close call between Gen 3 and Gen 5…with Gen 3 clinching it based purely on my preference for Mudkip 🙂
What are your favorite choices each generation?
Charmander, Cyndaquil, Treecko, Piplup, and Snivy/Oshawott.
Who is your favorite starter of all time?
Tie between Treecko and Charmander.
Do you also have a type you favor?
Fire or Grass.
Which generation has the best starters?
5th was actually the first gen that I wanted all of the starters, but as far as which one is the best, I have no idea ^_^;
I prefer Squirtle, Chikorita, Torchic, Piplup, and Oshawott. I actually don’t really care for Oshawott as much as its evolutions, btw. Yeah, as you can see, I’m partial to water-types. This is probably because it is the type I favor. Most of the well-designed Pokemon are water-type, imo. Plus, I love marine creatures. Despite all that, I love the Torchic family the most out of any starter family. I don’t really have an opinion as far as which generation had the best. There’s always one or two not-so-good ones and one or two brilliant ones.
1. Bulbasaur
2. Chikorita
3. Treecko
4. Turtwig
5. Snivy
See the trend? I <3 Grass type.
Treecko is my favorite above all, who coincidentally is one of the options in the region with the best starters, imo.
Favorite choices from each generation:
Charmander, Cyndaquil, Torchic, Chimchar, Oshawott
Favorite starter of all time:
Cyndaquil! My very first Pokémon back when i played Gold Version! 😀
Type you favor:
Fire types ftw! 🙂
Generation with the best starters:
In my opinion Gen IV had the best set of starters ever, I struggled so much to pick one that I ended up having all 3 on my team <3
Generation:
squirtle//cyndaquil//torchic//piplup//snivy
Favourite type:
water
Best gen:
I really loved the first two generations
What are your favorite choices each generation?
-Charmander, Cyndaquil, Torchic, Chimchar, Tepig
Who is your favorite starter of all time?
-Torchic
Do you also have a type you favor?
-Obviously Fire
Which generation has the best starters?
-I think the 3rd generation. Swampert is a beast, Sceptile is awesome, and then there’s Blaziken, who in my opinion is the best. Speed Boost just makes it even better.
Favorite choices from each generation:
Squirtle, Cyndaquil, Torchic, Turtwig, Oshawott
Favorite starter of all time:
Squirtle – always in my heart.
Type you favor:
Overall, actually the fire-types
Generation with the best starters:
Obviously nostalgic for first generation, but I think 4th and 5th gens actually have the ‘best’ with the slight nod to 4th for me.
Favourite choices from each generation:
Charmander, Cyndaquil, Torchic, Piplup, Oshawott
Favourite starter of all time:
Cyndaquil (though prefer quilava really)
Least Favourite starter of all time:
treecko, its reeeeeeeal creepy looking.
Type you favour:
Fire, but tepig is quite horrid
Generation with the best starters:
Ironically the only thing i like about Hoenn is its starters. Johto had a good group too, just they need stronger movepools.
Favorite Starters:
Bulbasaur, Cyndaquil, Mudkip, Chimchar, and Snivy
All Time Favorite Starter (and favorite Pokemon period):
SNIVY!!!
Favorite Starter Type:
Grass, but it really doesn’t effect the starter I choose.
Region with the Best Starters:
Unova…
Snivy all the way!!!
I usually pick the fire-type starter or the one that’s based on a reptile…
My favorite is Charmander and yes, just because of Charizard (my favorite pokémon)… Ironically, it’s a starter of a gen (along with the others from Kanto) I never could choose because the only (real, legal) games I played were Emerald, Platinum, SS and BW… Of course, I choosed it in SS from Prof. Oak but that was in the end of the game, so I wasn’t able to play my journey with Charmander… I choosed it when I used to play with Roms though…
Hmm…this is such a hard question ;o; Time to destroy my brain with over thinking.
What are your favorite choices each generation
1)Bulbasuar
2)Cyndaquil
3)Mudkip
4)Piplup
5)Oshawott ( I was really shocked with all the hate this little guy had once they was revealed ;m;)
Favorite starter of all time:
asdfghjkl Huge tie between Cyndaquil, Piplup, and Oshawott. ;o; I think I’ll have to go with Piplup seeing as I played 4th gen a lot, and ended up loving Empoleon, such a beast in my team :D.
Favorite Type:
Water! 😀 Fire is a close second
Which generation has the best starters:
Hm…2nd gen with 5th gen coming in a close second.
