Well, the first Pokémon game coming for the 3DS (excluding the Dex) may not be what you were waiting for. If it’s anything like Pokémon Typing DS it may not even make it out of Japan. This screenshot was posted on our Japanese partner ShellSpider and is of a game reservation info list from Lawson (a Japanese convenience store which has a location a minute from my house). No other details right now, but we’ll keep you posted!
Obviously this is NOT rock hard information as the game has yet to be even announced by Nintendo, but often retailers get information much earlier than the announcements are put out 🙂 Their slip ups are our luck!
From what the rumor claimed, it’s going to be in CoroCoro this month and will be released in October. It is a spiritual sequel to Pokemon Rumble for the WiiWare (which was called Pokemon Scramble in Japan), except it’s a lot more expansive and is a four player (local and WiFi) Gauntlet-style game.
There are only 5th Gen Pokemon included except for Pikachu, at least judging by the preview in CoroCoro, and the initial playable character are Pikachu, Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott. You basically run around hack-and-slashing your way through other Pokemon, and each Pokemon can level up and learn new attacks. It utilizes the models from the recent 3D Pokedex, apparently. Kind of a non-turn based Mysterious Dungeon, you could say. – Kenhorou

It was called Pokemon Scramble in Japanese.
Scramble? Only thing that comes to mind is the old board game that once enough time went by and you didn’t put the pieces in it and finished it would pop and all the little things would go flying. XD

Well, there was no direct confirmation, but they were the only Pokemon in the screen-shots apparently…
A few other tidbits…
*Pokemon are scaled to size, suggesting that perhaps only the smaller ones may be playable. One picture shows Pikachu and the Unova Starters being dwarfed by a Golurk, perhaps a boss.
*The world seems to be medieval inspired…the Musketeers seem to play a prominent role since artwork of them appear on one of the pages. Might we see Keldeo debut here? 0.o
*Seems to be a plot involving knights in training…one shot shows a Yamask asking Pikachu to retrieve its mask that was stolen, and another shot shows a few Pokemon talking about a dragon terrorizing their town. I’m guessing Reshiram/Zekrom is that dragon.

so will this game basically be like Super Smash Bros only containing Pokemon? If not can someone please elaborate as I’m a lil’ bit confused =S

I’m still waiting to see if the Wii gets any decent games before it’s officially replaced. It does have about a year, after all, until that WiiU comes out. Plenty of time for a good game or two to be released… I hope.
Gah, if it’s not Pokemon Grey or Ruby/Sapphire remakes, I am not interested. ;(
A Rumble sequel, eh? They have my attention. Though I’ll be pissed if it really does have nothing except Generation V stuff and Pikachu. At least put Weezing in the game!
Anyone else sick of these sorry excuses for Pokemon games. Rumble, Typing, Scramble, they are all just half a** ed attempts to distract us from what we really want. Bring us a 3DS Pokemon RPG already Nintendo, these other games are getting old.

I enjoyed Pokémon rumble on the Wii more than any other Pokémon spin off, I have high hopes for this one.
