3 Mini Games
- Berry Picker – Pick berries and give them to your Pokémon before they lose patience. The more you do the better rating you get. Things speed up as the timer counts down. Difficulties – Easy, Medium, Hard, Unlimited (3 Lives).
- Head It – Head strings of wool as they fall from the sky, timing is everything. The more you hit without missing the greater the combo (but the faster they come!). Aim for a highscore. Difficulties – Easy, Medium, Hard, Unlimited (3 Lives).
- Tile Puzzle – Old traditional slide puzzle, try and reorganize it.
Other people’s Pokémon visit your amie home and can give you gifts.
You unlock Poképuffs and furniture for your amie home by playing the mini games and interacting with your Pokémon.
Make facial expressions and the Pokémon might notice!
Your other party Pokémon join in with the mini games too.

- Friend Safari: Area in which you can capture Pokémon with their Hidden Abilities. Type of Pokémon appearing depends on registered friends and user selection

Neat Little Details

- You can turn your head side to side when sitting down on a bench.
- Player blinks and stretches.
- Nicknames are 12 letters not 10.
- When trading in game you don’t need to get the Pokémon out of your PC as it will let you pick from there automatically.
- If you character walks past a sign, for example, they will turn their head and face it. You can then press A to interact and read the sign.

Do you know if Feebas can be seen in the Kalos Pokedex? And if it’s true that Milotic is now Water/ Fairy
I’ve battled someone that has used a Feebas, so I’m guessing he’s in the game, however, I’m afraid I don’t know about Milotic yet as I’m not sure of the method to evolve it in these games (I assume it has something to do with Pokémon Amie).

I have found the Icy Rock somewhere in the snow area I can’t remember where, but you have to search for it -.- (It was a pain)

1. I got it because my retailer always delivers games at least one or two days early! 😀
2. I’ve not encountered a Pancham yet, and I’m just leaving Lumiose City (second main place to go).
Is it true that the game has no post-game?
There is a section on this article called, “Post-Game”. I think it will have some, plus there is a lot of legendaries to go around and catch I gather.
This is not true at all, there is a lot to do after you beat the game. I think if you do enough the elite four might be harder I haven’t tested it out yet. I managed to find a lot of open areas in the game that are just empty for no reason. I am hoping events will happen there :3

When are you able to start trading via Wireless + Infared?
You can start almost immediately, I would say within the first 15 minutes

He does learn some Dark type moves, Albeit they are not that good. But Tms and tutors in the game supplement for his pitiful dark type move pool (He learns extrasensory for some reason)
His move set revolves around a mix between the 2 special is more preferred though

Togepi is indeed catchable in game although significantly rarer than I had originally though! and yes it is fairy type ^-^
What are all the Fairy retypes that you have seen?
snubbul/granbull, jiggly line, togepi line, plusle/minun, clefairy line, a few others I can’t remember atm. Volbeat and illumize are rumoured to be fair but it isn’t confirmed and I haven’t seen one yet.

Apparently there is only one place where you can battle like that though! That is really disappointing! They should spring them up on you more often I think.

I wonder what it does with Immunities and x4… Will Ice on Garchomp do 1/4 the damage, but will Electric do x4, x2, or be just regular damage?

Since apparently we get to battle a Psychic during the battle, we’ll most definitely be able to test Psychic attacks on Dark Pokemon to prove this. I hope it’s a multiplayer battle mode too- that’d be cool.

Chesnaught’s signature move is called ‘Spiky Shield’, and yes they are new attacks. 🙂
On topic of new moves, are Geomancy, Glow Punch and Oblivion Wing confirmed to have type(s) yet?

1. Is the Ability Capsule a held item? It seems a bit odd…

I have preorderd pokemon X. Which games are you getting?
I cancelled my X at bol.com, because it said that they would send it on the 12th.. So, I saw no point in waiting when I could get it myself a lot earlier probably.
I don’t know about places outside the US, but I’ve heard that chains that don’t specialize in video games (like Walmart) and open early should have the game without risk of running out if you go early.
They say that the releasedate is 12-10-2013 but I preorderd other games in the past there and sometimes I got it 1 day earlier than the date they were saying. So i’m hoping!!

That’s some pretty cool information. This game is adding so many small tweaks that I don’t know if I can keep up with them all! But it’s cool because a refreshing take on the series is exactly what it needed and I think what we all wanted.

I also received my copy of Y yesterday, great game so far! I’m about 10 hours in now but just to let everybody know… there is a lot to look forward too! The first hour was amazing! I have been playing since Red and to me in some ways it feels like a completely new game! 🙂
I completely agree! It feels like a totally new game entirely – but still has that beautiful feel of Pokémon. The graphics are fluid and it is actually a pleasure to get into a wild battle! 😛

Can someone tell me about these new weather things I have heard about, Electric Field and Misty Field and Grass Field or something?
Misty Field protects all grounded Pokemon from status conditions for 5 turns and is learned by Sylveon.
Alright so it is a thing. They can be in play at the same time as other weather as well yes?
No idea, but if it is a weather, it’ll probably eliminate Rain and its friends. Interesting way to combat weather wars- introducing more weathers so that every weather is less effective.
I also heard that permanent weather isn’t a thing anymore. Drizzle and Drought only last 5 turns?

I know what that means… Mega Gengar to the rescue!
That wouldn’t even help you, they are fleeing before the menu even loads, so you wouldn’t have a chance to go Mega. Maybe if you throw out a Wobbuffet they can’t flee, but that seems like they are always going to flee for some reason, at least until you do something.
I forgot that! Maybe you need some item or you have to do something to make the birds stay in battle.
Honestly, I have no clue, I thought that sounded like a very suspect thing for roamers to do, but it turned out to be true, so *shrug*

You can do alot! there are battle towers you can challenge and amazing prizes you can win!, The friend safari is an interesting feature. You can catch Mewtwo and the birds and zygarde, and I have seen so many places that are just empty… I would assume event of some sort I will have to look into it more. But there is a lot to do so no worries there!

The game spans from the minimum of about 10 hours to around 36 hours if you want to find every pokemon and such in the wild. The post game I would rate as the 3rd longest post game. although it may seem like so little to do there is actually a lot more to it. I am thinking with all these hints they are going to add Downloadable content to the game ^-^

I just realized that each gen has a Pokemon that relates to either a theme or a mechanic. Correct me if I am wrong.
Gen 1 – The theme I believe is DNA, yes? Ditto has the ability to alter its cellular structure to become anything it sees .
Gen 2 – A mechanic introduced was the ability to breed. Smeargle can learn almost every move thanks to Sketch. If a Pokemon is in the field group for breeding, then selecting moves for a male Smeargle to learn is a breeze.
Gen 3 – The obvious theme was weather, and who’s type and former signature changes in weather? Castform.
Gen 4 – A mechanic introduced was different forms for the same Pokemon. Rotom shows this off very well.

Is it a Dusk Stone that you need to use to get Aegislash?! Awesome. I saw that you can buy stones in Lumiose City, but I could only buy a Fire Stone, Leaf Stone and Water Stone. Do more stones become available later on?
No you find a dusk stone some time in the near future before the 6th gym or so… I can’t really remember where I found it but that is how it evolves… (my brother evolved it for me and told me this so I am just going off what he said ^-^)

Does the game create extra data on the system’s SD card and if so how much and for what reason. And does playing the game on more than one system have any negative effects. (Ex. In previous games playing on a different system than the one originally played on caused all time-based events not to work for the rest of the day, and you could only use Wi-Fi with the original system you first used Wi-Fi with unless you reset your Wi-Fi info, FC, etc.)
I really need to know this ASAP. I plan on getting the game at Nintendo World’s midnight release, but my XL is still stuck being fixed by Nintendo and may not get back to me in time, so I want to know if there will be any risks or guaranteed issues with starting on a different system and then continuing on my XL once it’s back from repairs.

I do have a question actually…a story question…mainly due to the rumors spreading across 4chan claiming that reviewers said the game’s story is light and funny in X while leakers were like ‘holy mother of god this is dark and evil’ in Y.
I doubt reviewers immensely considering IGN claimed that Megas don’t have stat changes but I’m really hoping X doesn’t have a stupid story and Y does. Changes due to what Legendary you have are okay but to change the whole plot? I hope not, because Team Flare is the greatest team yet.

I believe the different patterns of Vivillon depend on where you live in the world. Canada has the Polar form. Japan has that Pink Meadow form.

I plan on not using duplicate types. I don’t think it makes the game harder, but it makes it difficult for me to decide which Pokémon I want to use.
Since the gym leaders will once again be limited to 3 Pokemon (Unfortunately), I will only use 3 Pokemon in my battles against them -_-
I’ve been doing that Unova without thinking about it. What I did was use my top three who had the advantage against the gym leader. I’ll do that again.
Well someone who will be part of my 3 in every gym battle is Chespin 🙂
I’m restricting myself to Dark Pokemon, which will make the battles especially with the Fairy Type Pokemon a bit dicey for me. I’m also going to put Battles on Set, so I have to waste a turn to switch out.
I’d recommend you stay away from the EXP all and don’t over do it with items/levelling. Just play at a decent pace and you’ll feel the challenge of Kalos!
In all my runs I always match each Trainer in # of Pokemon used (2 on 2, 5 on 5) and I don’t use Revives in the E4 or Gyms.
For my second game (Y), I’ll catch only one Pokemon in each area and it has to be the first one I find. It’s like a semi-nuzlocke challenge, but without the permadeath.

It will be released the same DAY, not time. So when it turns midnight on Saturday, you’ll be able to buy it. However, in America it’ll still be Friday, so they’ll have to wait a few hours until it’s midnight for them.

I would think so, but I don’t have the game yet… It’ll probably have the same effect as using Soak on Gyarados, and that’s worth a shot.
That can make up for a lot of mind games, actually… changing its type to Water then Dark or even other types… since it’s a fast pokémon you may be caught guessing which type will it be in the next turn… Cool!

I don’t know. I never knew the specifics of Hidden Power to begin with. That’s just what I’ve read. It has a set power of 60, and someone can change the type of the move for your Pokemon. Like if your Swirlix’s Hidden Power was Electric, some NPC can change it to a different type.

I really hope that HP doesn’t change with the IVs… I spent waaay too long breeding my Pokemon in White to have their Hidden Powers suddenly be useless (the last thing my Lucario needs is a Steel Hidden Power).

I’m down to Careful and Jolly. It seems based on the info we have, a rough estimate of Chesnaught’s BST is: 90/100/120/80/70/70.
What nature would you go with?
Hmm….I love chespin’s Spiky Shell (Protect + Iron Barbs) move….I’d go with Impish for competitive and Adamant for in-game

yeah I really need to know what moves it can learn….but 100 atk isn’t amazing so I’d go defensive. And it can learn leech seed and Spiky Shell. But if it can learn mach punch and bulk up….well we have an interesting starter on our hands

yup…grass/fight has so very nice resistances….water, grass, rock, ground, electric, and dark
but a 4x weakness to flying and a gained weakness to Psychic is annoying
for flying you have spiky shell….
But yeah it has it’s flaws….but Chesnaught is not a piece of paper unlike breloom. Outside of flying moves, I can see it take some super effective hits

I don’t think he’d have trouble taking any resisted hits however to maximise his defensive power using an impish nature makes perfect sense.
I think you should opt for Jolly and and take a purely physical approach. With that 90 base HP Chesnaught isn’t that bad and so you should try keeping his defensive stats untouched.
However if you’re focused on mixed offence then why don’t you try a speed lowering nature.
I think it depends on his movepool. If he has a poor special movepool then go Jolly.If good then Careful could be an option but I wouldn’t recommend it. Hope I was helpful =]

Everyone who picked Fenniken and is showing it off on Youtube has it as a female. Not sure if lucky, or just reset the game to get it to be female.
Some pokemon just have higher chances of one specific gender. I remember lucario is almost always male.
Starters have always been 7/8 male. Even Chikorita

Timid if you want to play it safe or hasty/naive if you want to use a mixed Froakie. Though I’d recommend the former.
I heard its a speedy sp atk sweeper. Not sure on defenses, but If you don’t want attack lowered, choose mild or rash, which lowers def and sp def, respectfully.
hasty (-def +speed), modest (-att +spatt), timmid (-att +speed) are all good.

Mega Tyranitar’s ability is Sand Stream, Mega Aggron’s is Filter, Mega Gengar’s is Shadow Tag, and Mega Kangaskhan’s is Parental Bond (as reported in August). Each Mega Pokemon retains their original type combination except for Mega Aggron, which becomes pure Steel-type.
Update: The starter Pokemon’s final evolutions were also officially revealed. Going off the leaks you can find everywhere, including on our forums, their English names are Chesnaught (Grass/Fighting), Delphox (Fire/Psychic), and Greninja (Water/Dark).

Do we know that for sure? Serebii is acting like he knows all this information but he’s been wrong on numerous occasions. Like he said the megas above don’t lose their typing (when Aggron is now pure steel) that the VS seeker is back (but it’s just the VS Recorder) and about version exclusives despite leakers found those Pokemon in both versions. :/
I really hope there are multiple ways of obtaining the same stones anyway. One per playthrough is dumb.
