The Ghost- and Grass-type Dhelmise will be diving into the world of Pokémon GO in the game’s upcoming Beloved Buddies event and Shiny Scatterbug will finally become available in the Scattered to the Wind event! Read about both below.
Beloved Buddies event details
The Beloved Buddies event will be taking place in Pokémon GO from Tuesday, February 11, at 10 a.m. until Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 8 p.m. local time.
Pokémon encounters
During the event, the following Pokémon will be spawning in the wild and Dunsparce and Diglett will have a higher likelihood of being Shiny:
- Nidoran♀*
- Nidoran♂*
- Diglett*
- Slowpoke*
- Shellder*
- Dunsparce*
- Remoraid*
- Mantine*
- Plusle*
- Minun*
- Volbeat*
- Illumise*
- Cutiefly*
- Fomantis*
Raid bosses
The following Pokémon have a chance to spawn at Pokémon Gyms:
One-Star Raids
- Shellder*
- Dwebble*

Three-Star Raids
- Slowbro*

Bonuses and activites
Players can enjoy the following bonuses during the event and event-themed activities:
- Double XP for catching Pokémon.
- Lure Modules will last for one hour.
- Lure Modules will attract different Pokémon during the event, such as Diglett, Slowpoke, Shellder, Dunsparce, Cutiefly, and Fomantis.
- 500 Additional Stardust for catching the following Pokémon: Diglett, Slowpoke, Shellder, Dunsparce, Cutiefly, and Fomantis.

- Event-themed PokéStop Showcases
Scattered to the Winds event details
The Scattered to the Winds event will take place in GO from Tuesday, February 18, at 10 a.m. to Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 8 p.m. local time. It introduces Shiny Scatterbug which can then be used to get Shiny Vivillon.
In order to encounter Scatterbug in Pokémon GO, you must pin postcards from friends from different regions across the world when receiving gifts. So don’t think that you’ll see this little bug spawning in the wild! During the event, you’ll have an increased chance of encountering Shiny Scatterbug, so start pinning those postcards when the event begins!

While Scatterbug won’t be spawning, players can find some early-game friends while playing. These include:
- Caterpie*
- Pidgey (Increased chance to be Shiny)*

Players can enjoy the following bonuses during the event and event-themed activities:

Lucky Pokémon updates
From the official blog, “The number of guaranteed Lucky Pokémon a Trainer can receive in a trade has been increased from 25 to 35! And starting Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. local time, if you trade a Pokémon that has been in a Trainer’s Pokémon storage since 2019, it is guaranteed to become a Lucky Pokémon until the limit is reached! This change is permanent.”
