Kanto or Sinnoh: Which Will See Switch Remake?

Many fans are eager for a return to Sinnoh—a region left unexplored since Pokémon Platinum was released in 2008 for the Nintendo DS—but it isn’t necessarily the only title which may see a remake in Generation VIII or beyond. Pokémon Red & Blue/Green never got a true remake on the Nintendo DS or 3DS, although Kanto was seen in Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver. Solid information is nil on the Nintendo Switch Pokémon game, but interestingly enough rumors about Kanto and Sinnoh being remade keep popping up.

Kanto

FOR: Haven’t seen Sevii Islands in almost 15 years, no true remake in just as long, more mature Red & Blue (JP Green) teased in Gen VII

AGAINST: Already saw Kanto in the Nintendo DS in 2009, Red & Blue have already gotten a remake, fans may be tired of the original story

Sinnoh

FOR: Original Diamond & Pearl games came out over 10 years ago, fan interest in seeing Gen IV again is very high

AGAINST: Game Freak may be waiting to release their next remake considering Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire only came out 3 years ago

What do you think?

  2. Anyone know what happens if you evolve your starter before you first meet Hau? If it’s possible does Dartrix/Torracat/Brionne stand beside you in those scenes?

  3. Guys crazy SU theory if you’ve seen the new episodes so I’ll spoiler it just in case
What if Rose Quartz isn’t who she says she is, like what if Rose really was Pink Diamond or what if Rose didn’t kill Pink and instead PD killed her, but then fused to look like Rose? IDK, but a nice idea.

  4. Know what’s crazy? I don’t think I ever got the Darmanitan that has Zen Mode from gen 5. I think in BW I killed it without knowing about it and then idk what happened in BW2. Either way I didn’t get it. This will be rectified with this new Black playthrough

  5. Something I hope the next game and its pre-release does for me is give me a sense of wonder. Both gen 2 and gen 5 give me this feeling. From all their media (well I guess not the gen 5 anime…..) I get this feeling of wanting to explore and find new things. I really hope whatever the next game is makes me feel that way. I want to be excited about finding new Pokemon again. I really loved gen 7, but I don’t think I really felt that way. I enjoyed the region and story, but the sense of wonder and excitement never reached peak levels. I want the next gen to be something that year later I can be nostalgic about like how I am with gens 2/5. It being the first HD set of games and first on a home console will be a good start. Hopefully the games themselves are good too tho!

      • Like literally the feeling I have for Johto and Unova in the form of words. I’m watching the Johto seasons now and it’s giving me nostalgia up the wazoo. I want another region and gen like that. Also if TPCI can get their crap together and hire someone who actually knows how to write an intro song we can get this sh!t going. They should hire whomever was in charge of the intros at 4kids to do it.

This liquid will change color to match its surroundings in an attempt to hide from predators. This liquid is extremely reactive to outside forces and may become something else entirely depending on what it reacts to. As such, they are hunted frequently for their fluid as it has many technological benefits. This has made them nearly extinct in the wild.

Evolves By: Leveling up past level 30 while holding a Fire Gem, Ice Gem, Grass Gem, Water Gem, Fighting Gem, Poison Gem, or Fairy Gem

It now only has the ability to turn said fluid a singular color along with completely clear, When fighting, it will turn invisible and cloak the arena with the fluids. Although this attack will have dramatically different results between Vesuvants, one thing remains constant: It is hotter than magma.

  7. While looking through my dex, I’ve realized my ability to write both mon names, concepts, and literally everything else relating to them has gotten a lot better over the years.

  8. Here’s the “wind howling” Pokemon I meant

    Pokedex Number: 193
    Brezhriek (Breeze-shriek)
    Classification: The Breeze Scream Pokemon
    Height: 2’09”
    Weight: 0.2
    Typing: Ghost/Flying
Ability: Cursed Body/Resonance (Hidden Ability: Infiltrator)
    Stats:
    HP: 42
    Attack: 33
    Defense: 29
    Special Attack: 61
    Special Defense: 29
    Speed: 82
    Base Stat Total: 276
Pokedex Entry: These Pokemon are considered pests by many townsfolk. During storms, they mimic the sound of howling wind. This causes storms to sound much worse than they actually are which in turn causes the townsfolk to become paranoid. Strangely, these Pokemon despise the sounds of windchimes which has lead to importation of chimecho and chingling into the region

    Pokedex Number: 194
    Derecholy (Derecho-Melencholy)
    Classification: The Wind Scream Pokemon
    Height: 5’09”
    Weight: 0.2 Lbs
    Typing: Ghost/Flying
Ability: Cursed Body/Resonance (Hidden Ability: Infiltrator)
    Stats:
    HP: 62
    Attack: 70
    Defense: 60
    Special Attack: 100
    Special Defense: 60
    Speed: 120
    Base Stat Total: 472
Pokedex Entry: This Pokémon is known making a howling wind that creates a sound similar to the cries of a despairing maiden. Despite the sad sound of these cries, this is simply how they communicate with each other and has zero correlation to their emotional state. Villages that get overrun with these Pokémon become ghost towns in mere days due to intense headaches these howls cause.

  10. I’ve thought of a Spinosaur Pokemon, not sure on the type though. It will be part Steel. as that’s a big chunk of the concept, but not certain on secondary type.
    Choices are:
    – Water because they hunt in Rivers
    – Dark because they can be vicious
    – Dragon because they are kind of dragon-like.
I do want to make a Steel/Dragon at some point but not sure I want it to be this. It will possibly be a pseudo line.

      • It might evolve from a Fossil but I don’t really want to follow the constant part Rock typing. The first stage might be part Rock but that’s it.

    • Water sounds very good to me for it

and funny if you did a Pseudo line that’s Dragon/Steel then we’d share the same type for that spot as mines based on Bahamut Leader of Good Dragons (It’s Steel because it has the best affiliations to Platinum Dragons)

      • Hm yeah, I had the idea it also has a sail on the tail that it uses both for balance when striking its’ prey for precision and also as kind of a rudder as it wades through deeper water/swims. The main back sail is kind of Buzzsaw like and it has fishing spear-like claws as its’ main diet is things like Relicanth, Basculin and generally tougher sea creatures. The last stage is called Spinosaw.
I already have that Qilin pseudo line I made before that’s Fire/Dragon so idk.

  11. In my fangame there will be references to other regions and occasionally even a few cameos. Of the official characters, Wally will actually play a relatively large role. In the past few years, he had begun to make a name for himself in battling tournaments in several regions. After suffering an excruciatingly one-sided loss, he decided to go back to the basics and explore an entirely new region in the hopes of learning a few new tricks to help his battling career. The interesting part is that he has decided to leave his Pokemon with professor Birch temporarily and start again as a new trainer. It just so happens his journey begins around the same time as the player character, meaning….

  12. Oh shist! I finally got my Region’s true name Forren region (It’s a combination of Forest and Penn as its based on Pennsylvania)

I also finally am working on some big spots on the map so I can place some of the Pokémon so far though, I’m arguing with myself over what belongs after the gang you find on Route 1.
