Pokémon GO Travel Event + Pokémon Bank Update

Niantic has officially announced the Pokémon GO Travel event!

From now until to November 26th, trainers across the globe must work toward the goal of collectively catching 3 billion Pokémon in Pokémon GO! As the week progresses, and more ‘mons are caught, rewards will start to roll out: At 500 million Pokémon caught we’ll get 2x Experience, 6 hour Lure Modules and an increase of worldwide spawns. At 1.5 billion, we’ll get the previosuly mentioned bonuses plus 2x Stardust and even more increased spawns. And if we reach our goal of 3 billion we’ll get all the aforementioned rewards plus Farfetch’d will spawn worldwide for 48 hours (Kangaskhan will spawn in East Asia as compensation)!

In main game news, (much to our surprise) Pokémon Bank is already compatible with Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon! Requiring 516 block, version 1.4 of the application is now available for download via the eShop. Along this, compatibility for transfers from Pokémon Gold & Silver can now be made in Poké Transporter.

  1. I’ve been enjoying Pocket Camp a LOT. Definitely my favorite Nintendo mobile game so far, no contest. Please give it a try if you’re new to the Animal Crossing franchise, because as a fan, I’m actually amazed that it feels like…well, genuine Animal Crossing!

          No but seriously, a set up Kommo-o when I use it takes out two mons at minimum and Araquanid slows nearly everything

          • Learn how to deal with hazards and Kommo-o before doing extensive RU.

            Fairy types, Stat resetters, and soundproof mons do a lot. For example, if you come in on a cocky Kommo-O with your own, you can outpredict them and sweep. Earlier today I did that and 6-0d someone. I also run araq which , considering his godlike webs is nuts. He forces out specific matchups and webses. He also hits way harder than Galv and is a fair amount bulkier too.
            I mean… that small buff pushed him into the OU viability rankings. He literally comes in clutch every game.

      • The straight version of the scene was removed too, because Lillie doesn’t even come to Exeggutor island this time. This is practically lunging to conclusions

        • No I meant they altered it the first time because they’re homophobic. I imagine they removed it because they didn’t want to be labeled as such

          • I can’t remember any differences between the genders from my playthroughs but if making an eleven year old character straight is homophobic I’d remove that scene too lol

          • It’s not that, it’s that they didn’t want people to read into it between lillie and the female character. It’s just ridiculous they thought the slight change in dialogue was necessary when changing it is what caused people to raise eyebrows. But it’s no secret they’re super behind the times at gamefreak. Like every other nintendo franchise allows cross dressing except pokemon.

          • Or it’s just that Lillie is straight so a possible romantic aspect isn’t meant to be as obvious as it is with a male?

            Games like Tomodachi Life and Animal Crossing let you crossdress because their models are extremely simple and they wouldn’t have to adapt it between genders. Mario and Zelda’s crossdressing is meant to be more humourous than anything. None of this is actually done because they’re progressive, Japan is a traditional country and Nintendo is all entertainment. It’s not a political statement at all.

            If you think this is an issue compared to all the real issues gay people (including myself) have faced and continue to face, then I think you net to get your priorities straight.

          • I just think it’s stupid because it wasn’t romantic. “I want to travel together with you,” was changed to, “I’d like to become a trainer, and learn all the things you know.” It’s a stupid change. Apparently there can’t be close platonic relationships between females.

            I also don’t have priorities when it comes to this, but I think more clothing and hair options are a change they should consider making in the future

          • What? They both imply Lillie wants to stay with you in some degree lol, because they both basically imply Lillie wants to be with you as she learns. It’s two different ways of basically saying she admires you and wants to learn from you, and both sound platonically pretty freaking close.

            The whole story is about your relationship with Lillie fam. You get pretty platonic with her even with a very minor line change which can apparently be taken as homophobic even though both are roughly as romantic as each other.

            Clothing and hair should be the bottom of the long list of things they should consider. Their core gamplay mechanics and story need sorted well before something which a fringe part of the audience want.

            I’m in disbelief homophobia came up at all during this conversation when it had nothing to do with homophobia like at all.

          • Well yeah, homophobic is a bit of an overreaction and I don’t really think they are, but like I said, I think the change was completely unnecessary. You’re free to disagree, but I just cannot see any point in changing it the way they did. I would never have picked up a romantic hint from Lillie UNTIL they altered the dialogue. Honestly the exclusion of that scene from USUM is strange though.

          • Speaking of lines a game changed for the same scene, still salty about a very certain Yo-kai Watch scene

            The Truck scene… When you first meet Jibanyan (a more or less secondary protagonist in the game) in the original he screams as he attacks a truck “Take this you evil beast!”, in the second game however it was changed to “Take this you dumb truck”… not a large change, but I found it annoying af that they changed one of my favorite scenes from the entire game

  19. I forgot how good the Vast Poni Canyon theme was! I love taking my time in this game for once because of the difficulty. My team members are all late level 50s so hopefully that’ll be good enough for the story sequence up ahead.

  20. Well this night is just getting worse
    My losing streak is getting worse
    My laptop is glitching (it says it’s charging but the percentage isn’t changing and it been like that for a few hours)

  25. I thin I’m going to SR for a shiny Poipole as my last team member. It’s such a good shiny the coloring is so cool! But this means I’m going to have to replace Noivern who has been with me since the beginning which is a little sad.
