With less than four weeks until the official release of Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, the rumor mill has been cranking out some interesting information as of late. While I don’t normally cover rumors that appear on 4chan because of the inability to verify anything about them, today’s bit of hearsay is allegedly (that means NOT CONFIRMED, as with everything in a RUMOR post) from the Chinese Riddler who leaked quite a bit of accurate—if not obtuse—information about Pokémon Sun & Moon.
You may have noticed that the ‘Riddler’ has been mostly inactive, but they have apparently been warned by company officials not to disclose information and have only revealed things via personal accounts to close friends.
There’s no way to verify that these conclusively came from them because they were, apparently, quickly deleted, but Chinese social media has been buzzing about the English translation that was posted on 4chan.
- A “returning” Team will take over the Aether Paradise and steal Lillie’s Cosmog/Cosmoem
- In order to secure the building more executives and team members will be brought in (possibly from another dimension) as you progress
- Molayne, a former Trial Captain and engineer of Alola’s PC network, will join the Elite 4
- A new building similar to the past Battle Frontier will be available and will incorporate renting you friends’ teams, possibly similar to current QR system
- Generation I Grass/Poison-type Pokémon will get a new Alolan Form; this is suspected to be Oddish

As soon as I saw Popplio’s final evo I thought it must be real… anyone trying to fake wouldn’t design such a controversial Pokémon. I saw it was 100% TrollFreak to the core

I think it was only controversial/unbelievable at first because poplio is so not feminine. Meganium and Delphox are both fem and no one was shocked about that

The returning team has to be either Rocket or Galactic. Can’t really say which yet. All of that sounds very plausible though…and exciting! I just hope we get more than one new Alolan form.
Team Plasma taking over the Aether Paradise and taking Nebby (should have stayed in the bag smh) would actually make sense based on their beliefs.
You’re totally right! It’s actually more likely because Colress makes a cameo appearance in Sun and Moon.
Colress was never a member of Plasma though. They hired him to experiment on Genesect
What? He joined them as a means for his research after Plasma 2 resurfaced and took over N’s role. He’s not related to Genesect at all
I hope it’s Galactic. I kept musing that if the next set of remakes were Diamond/Pearl (like getting them instead of USUM) it could be another way to expand all the Ultra Beast stuff we’re getting.
I’m just kind of not ready for the next Gen. I see UBs, Alolan forms and the Pokemon boss fights getting swept aside too easily.
I mean, Cyrus did say he would return after the climax of DPP, so who knows, this could be his return
The only part of this that leaves me on the fence is the building similar to the battle frontier, simply because of that interview that was released a bit ago about it not being included in ORAS.
I do love these speculation articles though because they make the weeks leading up to release more exciting!!

I’m kinda hesitant on new alolan forms, because if they were there they’d have been announced by now, but I’d love an Alolan Vileplume :0
Also, this thing of renting friends’ team for a new battle facility sounds pretty cool

A returning team takes over Paradise and takes Nebby? Well then the Aether Paradise raid of SM will be a raid to retrieve Nebby, since trailers have shown that Solgaleo/Lunala fights Necrozma where we would have seen the evolution in the prior game.
Obviously I could be wrong, but I don’t think we’d just get *1* new family of Alolan Forms. I don’t think Bellsprout line will get, but I do think we might see at least one more if Alolan Oddish is true.
Meh i just don’t see them tacting any more alolans
in another note, in South Park there’s a gigantic cluster of easter eggs, including Ash’s Hat and all sorts of tv and cartoon costumes

I know a lot of you have ideas, but have you actually put it down on paper or a document? I’ve already said I have, so yeah. Also, this is an interesting rumor. I’d like to see how they’d execute it if it were real
I don’t really believe it and I think the game would get cramped with four different factions (Aether/URS/Skull/Old Team) but I wouldn’t be annoyed if it was true
I was waiting for this article. I was actually poring through other forums when I found this info yesterday. I can honestly say I am quite excited if this happens to be true. However, I don’t know how they would handled it without it being too much of a cluttered mess, but with how well they did with SM and BW I think I have faith in them.
I definitely hope we get new Alolan forms and if Oddish just so happens to get one I may actually use it depending on what its new typing is. With the possibility of an old villian team returning I could see Galactic being that team or Plasma. Since the Famtisu article that leaked the other day said this game should be twice as long as S/M and has as much extra detail as Emerald/Platnium i could see us getting a new BF and also dealing with 4 teams. That’ll really keep us busy lol

It isn’t only the Chinese Riddler who has mentioned the return of an old team along with a mention of more Alola forms. The USUM wishlist rumor has also mentioned the return of old teams-especially Giovanni-and more Alola forms. This unseesming wishlist has so far been correct on the points it has made without any falsehoods and posted the actual names of the games I think about a month before the direct announced them. So I am still looking at these rumors with a grain of salt, but I am quite hopeful.
More than a month before the games were announced! The wishlist was from back in March!! Crazy how accurate it has been up to this point. Looking forward to seeing what else it gets right.
If it gets new Alola forms right then I will be beyond happy.

I think Gen 1 pampering is one of the most consistent aspects of the Pokémon franchise.
Funny init? Genwunners have all grown up and most of them are practically adults nowadays, yet GF continues to target children with how they develop the games.

I REALLY don’t want to get my hopes up…….but the Riddler has proven he knows stuff so maybe this is true? With all this possible new info I think the USUM wishlist rumor has gained even more traction as well. It’s already gotten new UBs and some other stuff right. (Including the initials of USUM) I just don’t want to hurt myself haha. If all this is true then USUM may be one of the best games EVER. Even without these rumors USUM has been shown to be quite fun so with all this on top of what we know for sure this could be great! What a turn for the best. It’s crazy how they revoked people into thinking it wasn’t gonna be a good game (including myself) They really should have hit it harder back in June to make people happier hahaha
Oh!!! One more thing. The idea of Pokemon getting Alolan forms even tho they’re split evos is interesting. Really opens up the door a lot. Also the idea of Oddiah getting a form kind of hints that we’ll still get Johto forms as Bellossom would likely it one too. Very interesting indeed!!
I am guessing that it will either be Grass/Fire (Hawaiian culture) or Grass/Fairy (it learns some moves that are Fairycentric such as Moonlight and Moonblast). Actually, if it were me I would give an Alola form to both of the split evos. Grass/Fairy Vileplume and Grass/Fire Bellossom.

The “returning” team is most likely Team Skull. They’ve yet to be formally recognized by any trailers or CoroCoro revealings. We only know of that one scene with Guzma in the new trailer.
And the Grass/Poison type could be Oddish…or Bellsprout…or Bulbasaur (it was talked about in a former rumor that Bulbasaur’s line was possibly getting Alola Forms in SM, maybe we get them in USUM instead?)
I think the Alola Bulbasaur was actually a misunderstanding on our part in the former rumors.

I didn’t think I would be. I have been so chill for 4/5ths of this pre-release season. I guess with this last month and the increased amount of info drops I have lost my inhibitions. I guess it is like being stranded in a desert vs being stranded in a desert with an oasis that is just out of reach. One situation would fill me more with a resigned feeling while the other one makes me want to quench my thirst as quickly as possible.

I would love for these to be true but I don’t see oddish or bulbasaur getting Alolan forms simply because they’re already pretty tropical and I don’t really see what living in Alola could do to them or their evolutions. Like oddish manly comes out at night to bask in moonlight and Gloom, Vilploom and Bellosom are all based on tropical plants, so what could in Alola could forced them to change when it’s the ideal environment for them to thrive? Maybe there’s some grass/poison that I’m forgetting that might be a better candidate?
There is Bellsprout. And the answer to your question as to what can cause the emergence of this Alola form is an obvious one. Ultra Panckaes.

After the toucan shirt was revealed, he placed the toucan as one of the unconfirmed Pkms, but he couldn’t predict that Pikipek would evolve in a toucan and thought it would evolve into something else
Even the leakers couldn’t believe pikipek would be ruined
I still have no idea why you have a problem with him he clearly has info. He’s just not listing it out like every other leak. It’s a way to help keep himself safe from the law
