PokéLand Gets New Alpha Test, Screenshots

Japanese gamers will have another chance to test the mobile version of Pokémon Rumble, called PokéLand, starting tomorrow until October 27th on Android devices. The test will include up to 30,000 players. It will eventually be released for both iOS and Android and appears to be a freemium title with optional in-app purchases. Rewards come in chests which require real time to open; players can spend diamond to bypass these time restrictions and open them immediately however. Rewards include items to increase Pokémon’s power, new maps to explore and more.

In addition to the new alpha test, multiple new screenshots of the game have been revealed.

Are you excited for this new take on the Rumble series?

    • I actually kind of liked Rumble tho………What really sucks is it keeps getting pulled into the freemium market. It should just be allowed to be a regular game imo. I do wish we’d get new spin offs that are actual fully fledged games tho.I LOVE to see another Pokemon Conquest style game! That said people looking for a Stadium are out of their minds. The Stadium games were meant to bring Pokemon battles into 3D. Now that ALL Pokemon battles are naturally in 3D it makes no sense to hire an outside company to produce a game we can basically in the main series. And if you say that it being on TV was the real thing then wait a year or 2 and you’ll have that in the main series as well. The Stadium games (while fun and great) have unfortunately been outdated and made unnecessary.

  5. You know what’s my #1 reason to be hyped for Gen 4 remakes?
Using Togekiss in his region as a Fairy type
Normal type Togekiss was weird and the typing didn’t match it
Fairy type Togekiss has a cool typing and is much Cuter

Few things that I think could be better:
It Looks like a shark, doesn’t it? Well, a sinking ship shark could be cool
Just make it more shark colored
Change the design to be more shark like
Change that horrible name (Jawreck for example would be better)
    The typing can be Water/Ice
And you’ve got a much better fakemon

    • Imo the design is good, the problem is that it doesn’t feel like a Pkm.

But I have this same problem for most of them soo

    • i dont like #5. its obvious that its the one with no pants since obviously he doesnt have a proper costume, however, the pepe costume guy, the pepe eyes blinked. if it is a costume party, someone is dressed as mario, batman, and the random non prepared costume. if the pepe is just pepe then its not really a costume. if its a guy in a pepe mask it wouldnt make sense either cuz its eyes blinked. i might be overthinking it

      Reply

  30. I was wondering about the PokeSwitch… I realized they’ll have to make SO MANY changes! I mean, just take the UI for example… ever since DPPt, dual screen has become a thing in Pokemon… How will they move back to one screen? Pity that the Switch cannot be used in a dual screen mode like Wii U. They’ll also have to do a graphical overhaul (though maybe not that much considering how some of the Switch titles especially indie ones aren’t that concerned with high graphics). Do you think they’ll keep dynamic camera or will we able to finally control it (maybe to some extent). Routes will have to stop being so linear or defined cause they would just look ODD on the switch. It’ll definitely have to be a bit more towards open-world than the current games. Also, I realized how so much of the gameplay is based on chosing options… even moreso than regular turn-based RPGs. The overworld exploration doesn’t actually consist of any gameplay besides moving around, talking to NPCs, and collecting items. These issues will only be more glaringly obvious on the Switch. They’ll have to include more overworld interaction like puzzles or something if they want the game to feel more alive.

At present, the magazine is not out so details may require further translation. It confirms that the game is further detailed than people believe with there being further post-game story content than before, saying it is far more in-depth than Pokémon Platinum and that the story is twice that of Pokémon Sun & Moon’s. It also states that catching and training Pokémon will have elements to make it easier to obtain compared to Sun & Moon. It also confirms that you will encounter various Legendary Pokémon through the Ultra Wormholes when you travel through portals on Solgaleo & Lunala, including Legendary Pokémon, noting the possibility of Mewtwo. 46. Ok so apparently this is from a recent Famitsu interview

Not a sequel to S/M but the story with “different divergence”.
-The appearance of Ultra Recon Squad will change the story.
-Main Story with different development and there’s a new post game content after beating Pokemon League.
-People who are expecting minor changes like “Emerald” or “Platinum” should be expecting “Ultra Change”.
-There’s new game content where players can roam around the Ultra Hole and go to different dimensions.
-Capturing and raising Pokemon became easier compared S/M.
-In some of the dimensions that players go through “Ultra Warp Ride”, players will be able to encounter some Legendary Pokemons. One of the Pokemons player can encounter is Mewtwo.
-If one just compares the sheer length of the script, US/UM is twice as long compared to Sun and Moon.

What I picked up from it:

    – why would GF say USUM is not a Platinum of all things? They’ve obviously up to date with the negative “USUM are just gonna be like Platinum” fan reaction.

    – Therefore they certainly know we want Alolan forms. I think there’s a big chance we’ll get some. Like really big.

    – Trailers have not revealed a 10th of the game. You can tell they’re holding back so much.

    – Legendary catching in other dimensions gives me the feel that say we get to go to Bell Tower to catch Ho oh and Giratina in Distortion World. On 3DS graphics? Amazing!

    – All the people who were complaining must be speechless now. I said from day one these games are gonna be as different as BW2 if not BETTER.

    – When they say Ultra change, honestly that makes me really excited. I really wonder how far they’ll go with these games!!
I expect the next trailer or 2 that we get say in November are gonna be jam packed.

I just played Y and imo aside from the odd lag issue which wasnt an issue for me was perhaps the post game was short. They were good games.

          • But they did do alot right as well

Mega’s, Fairy types, 3D Graphics (it was a first run for Pokémon in terms of handheld with 3D with XY give them some credit)

I admit its not perfect, but it’s not complete trash

          • Ok metaphorically speaking I’m blind in not seeing what’s bad with gen 6.
Tell me what’s bad with gen 6?
            I’d love to hear this.

          • I can support SuMo
            I can support USUM
Hell even ORAS did one or two things right
But X and Y? Not in the slightest

          • Post game Detective story in Lumiose City was pretty nice though. Implementation of Pokemon amie, PSS, character customization, increased pokemon variety (more new pokemon would have been nice, but there is a lot of variety in replays and nuzlockes). The battle maison was average not terrible, the Chateau was good for money and experience. Team Flare needed more flair and the gym leaders were a little boring tough. You can also take Fairy types and mega evolutions as you will, but XY are not terrible.

          • The plot isn’t so bad (especially if you don’t care for the plot)

            Pacing could have been better

I always found ways to train in post-game

          • Did you even read my comment? Character customization brings more immersion for most people (same with amie) as well as giving more weight to money. The PSS gave the most ease and function than the previous games and introduced more things to do. If anything XY changed the gameplay the most since Diamond and Pearl with mega evos and a new type. Most of the things I mentioned are game play mechanics. The pacing is only an issue at the last two gyms as well and isn’t as worse as Kanto, other than that it is simply adequate (their is should be criticism of the traveling companions though). The Looker Side quest is one of the better stories in Pokemon and the lore XY gave is way more intricate than BW’s dragon comet (ORAS introduced way more interesting lore though with all the discoverable reports). The problem most people seem to have is that XY is literally just average. To be honest most of the only things changed in Pokemon are surface level things; the only things changed are the story and gimmicks of the region.

          • It’s very strange, the hate XY get.
Ok I can understand the post game was not as big, maybe some areas could have been betterbut which game is perfect?

There are countless good points with XY, I can confirm having recently played Y.

            – Kalos is up there with any region heck it may even be the best. Amazing design and variety.
            – French theme and beauty theme are so well implemented across region, Pokemon, characters and even small noticeable things here n there
            – Best pokedex so far. Such great variety right from the get go.
-Intro of well recieved mega evolution tieing in perfectly with plot.
            – New pokemon were great
            – Games didn’t feel cloggy or overly complicated focusing on what makes Pokemon great. Catching, battling and trading etc

In a nutshell these games are greatly not appreciated!

          • Aww I appreciate your support and not being afraid to speak up. You’d make a good friend! :]
As for the people they’re mostly good just a few bad apples severely lacking in maturity.
People are mostly fine with me but you do get some unnecessary behaviour here :O

    • It’s kind of impossible for it to be as different as BW2 considering that story was 100% new because they were sequels. There’s really no comparison to be made there

      Reply
      • Except BW2 was just an extension and the story wasn’t really that new because Plasma 2 was rocket with a plasma filter on

        Reply
          • It could be less new but the new stuff could be better quality

BW2’s story was a decline from BW whereas USUM can really enhance SuMo

Also not seeing the new Pokémon in BW2

          • But B2W2 wasn’t supposed to enhance BW, it was supposed to continue the story and tell it’s own. It’s a different situation. USUM may be better than Sun and Moon, but what does that say about Sun and Moon then? Both BW and B2W2 can stand on their own as good stories. They didn’t need to improve upon each other because Gamefreak put a lot of effort and content into them from the getgo.

          • How so? Hard/Easy mode, trading keys for regis, PWT, Pokewood studios. All I’m seeing from USUM in terms of gameplay is the surfing minigame, return of O-powers with some new ones, and photo club.

          • If USUM are better than SM story wise that says nothing about SM. Rather it shows USUM being very good because SM were great story wise. I’m sure you can agree on that :]

      • Story wise maybe not but in other aspects such as post game content, new Pokemon, gameplay features, alterations to region or gameplay.
Evem the story still has the potential to be a better story than what we got in either Unovian game.
That being said BW2 really set the bar high, USUM will have its work cut out

  52. 10 DAYS UNTIL ODYSSEY! Just as I’d expected, my hype level is ramping up the closer we get. It’s been 4 years since the last 3D Mario (7 if you stop the count at SMG2). Feels a lot like Zelda…it’s unreal that we’re finally seeing the future of Mario. So much has changed since then. I have complete faith that Nintendo has given the series the “Breath of the Wild treatment” it deserves. Also, ONE MONTH UNTIL USUM! These are crazy times in the Nintendo world.

    • Had a look. I’m not sure if it’s intended to be a joke or something comedic. The fact you seem to have put so much effort in suggests otherwise.
The ratings imo are very bizzare and it seems you don’t like anything Hoenn related.

      Reply
      • Most certainly not a joke! There’s a ton of artwork, design process and imagination that goes into the Pokemon series, so I don’t see anything wrong with discussing it!

Some of my ratings may seem bizarre, but if I ever rate a Pokemon poorly, I generally go out of my way to really discuss why I did that. So my explanations are right there!

Also, yeah, Hoenn isn’t necessarily my favorite region, but there are a ton of Pokemon I really adore from it. The average for the region is pretty much the same as what I gave to Kanto actually, the Hoenn region just has much higher overall highs and lower overall lows in my opinion.

  54. Every time I listen to criticism of Breath of the Wild the more I realize it just was the best game I have ever played.

I feel like criticisms such as the plot, music, weapon durability and stuff like that is very well deserved and I totally understand where people are coming from. I may even sort of agree to an extent, but on the other hand those things are just things that I loved about the game.

The minimalist music was great to me. It was all I really needed. In this melancholy world where hyrule is dead it fits. And this may be because I’ve listened to the soundtrack alot but I feel like the music was on par with the other Zelda games. Madulga fight, Tarry Town, Hateno Village and Gerudo City at night come to mind. The horse riding theme is also just fantastic hiding both the main theme and zelda’s lullaby depending on if it’s day or night.

I have never felt like story was THAT important in Zelda games. A lot of the plot is experienced just through gameplay but for many that isn’t the case so I understand the disappointment but the memories were such an interesting idea for presenting story in a game that wants you to be able to avoid the story. Maybe an approach closer to Skyrim would’ve worked better where you have a main quest but you can leave it at anytime and go right to Ganon if you want.

I just can’t bring myself to not give the game a 10/10. The experience I had with it was something unique and beautiful. It was brave and it took risks and that is what led to me realizing what games can be. And I think that’s how people felt when Ocarina came out. And maybe in 20 years I’ll think the same of Breath of the Wild as I do about Ocarina. “Important for the time but the remake is better.”

Don’t really have a point to make here. Just really want to talk about this game

    • Oh man, I just love this game. That being said, since we’re on the topic, I think the game’s flaws stand out more seven months later. The wow factor has worn off by now. Don’t get me wrong, the game’s fantastic for what it is, but I do think the criticisms are worth talking about. Number one, enemy variety sucks. Instead of having six different levels of Bokoblins and a bunch of camps scattered around, they should’ve had maybe 3 levels and added Skultula nests or something, you get the idea. After 130 hours, I want something else to fight. The world bosses are good, but there aren’t many either. Secondly, I know that, like you, many don’t rank story highly for games. And while that’s all fine and well, I wish there was more to be had for those that wanted it. To me, story is a solid chunk of the experience, it’s what sets the tone of the game, and it just felt ‘meh’ to me.

Finally, the climax of the game wasn’t great. The final final boss was a joke, and even Calamity Ganon wasn’t too hard. Especially when you’ve saved all the beasts, and you probably are more equipped to kill it, it’s easier. Overall great game, but I figured I’d mention the bad parts of the game after the dust settled.

      • True true. It’s a very weird situation for me. Especially with how critical I am with… most media I consume. Like to the point where it’s annoying.

But the flaws never ruin my enjoyment (now that I think about it, f*ck rain) and it’s this weird situation where the games was just so good, such a marvel of game design, such a unique experience that all I can think is “It’s so good that why even worry about the flaws” which is a position I would take anger towards with anything else

        Maybe it’s bias. I don’t know.

        (disqus lemme post this wtf)

        Reply
        • Yeah, I get you. It’s a fantastic game, and while the shortcomings didn’t hinder the experience too much the first time, I fear that once the wow factor wears off, I won’t enjoy it as much coming back years later.

Everyone’s allowed one UB/legend/mythical, as well as their team of 2 to 6 Pokémon. Just write their species and any nickname they have and I’ll make the boredom magic happen?

Ooh and say which ones your ace that’d help a lot

      • Ren – This odd Pokémon appeared before Kuppo one day, bursting from a hole in the sky. Many Porygon had appeared that day, and the newly discovered species was termed Porygon after an ancient word meaning ‘angular’. Porygon2 and Porygon-Z can only occur in this world when a Porygon copies some data from one of its higher evolved form. Although the species still perplexes all in the world, Kuppo still loves Ren and its obvious Ren feels kinship towards his owner. He’s very erratic and unpredictable, but will always come through for his partner.

Ignia – Ignia has been with Kuppo for a barely shorter time than Ren, as Ignia had tried to absorb some life energy from Ren but grew frustrated as it couldn’t absorb the sort of life energy Ren gave off. After a battle, Ignia was captured as Kuppo thought he should have at least one Pokémon he actually understood. Ignia acts spooky and aloof, but is actually quite loving for those it knows well.

Dadellion – This Gallade was once Kuppo’s sickly Ralts. This sickness even prevented evolution. After taking advice from the Guild Alchemist, he seeked out a legendary cure-all: Aqua Finia, Tapu Fini’s healing water. Ralts grew stronger and stronger, even becoming stronger than Ren and Ignia and becoming Kuppo’s star battler. He tries to act cool, as the guardian of Kuppo’s team, but he’s actually a huge softie who loves everyone who hasn’t wronged him. Eventually, him and Kuppo unlocked the power of Mega Evolution, which makes Dadellion much more focused and a one track thinker.

K – This Gliscor developed a rivalry with Dadellion as the Kirlia escorted his trainer through a canyon. It constantly tried to attack the duo, but was constantly warded off. It eventually requested to join them, in hopes of becoming as strong as the duo. Proud, stubborn, but will subtly admit when it’s wrong.

Victini – as the spirit of victory, it aligned itself with Kuppo in the final battle. Kuppo had finally won himself a life he was completely happy with, and his determination to not allow it to be taken away by losing the final battle called out to Victini.

      • Lopunny – Lopunny has been with Star since she was a little girl, and the egg hatched right before her eyes. Her strongest fighter, they unlocked the power of Mega Evolution together when their bond – and lives – were put to the test. Very warm and loving, and will try to calm her partner down when she gets too overworked. Mega Evolution allows her to release her pent up aggression.

Primarina – In her first Guild assignment, Star and Buneary had to aid a pack of Primarina. Their children had come under attack by Sharpedo, and Star couldn’t stand to watch such young Pokémon fade so soon. An orphaned Popplio, whose mother died to the Sharpedo, followed her home, as she reminded her of her mother – strong, elegant, yet fierce when needed. Very much a prima donna, but she will support her team when push comes to shove. She’ll appreciate others when they show their talent, and appreciate it when they acknowledge hers.

Gardevoir – Star befriended this Pokémon when it was a Kirlia. A bandit tribe were trying to steal the Kirlia due to demand on the black Market, yet she sensed Star’s strong emotions and teleported to her. Star then captured the Kirlia, knowing wild specimens were unsafe in urbanised areas due to high demand. Even after evolving she remains a silent guardian angel for Star and her team.

Salazzle – Males from a small village had begun to go missing, and when her male Guildmates disappeared searching for the source of the phenomena, Star stepped in herself. This greedy, cunning Salazzle had entranced all the males around her to act out for her amusement and get her food. Star decided to capture her to set her straight, but even after some discipline she still remains a greedy prankster who manipulates men for fun.

Tsareena – One of the two members Star caught on vacation to a chain of sunny islands. She saw a Toucannon, a Pokémon she’d heavily disliked since childhood, attempt to eat this little cutie. The Steenee refused to be captured, so Star instead coached her so she could defeat Toucannon herself. After Stomping the predator into forfeit, she evolved and her tribe offered to elevate her to queen. The humbled queen however decided to journey with Star to become a to enter and stronger. She’s also a bit of a diva, but is far more violent than Primarina and takes longer to open up. She’s very prideful.

Alolan Raichu – Raichu from a certain part of the world were said to look different, and Star wanted to test this. She bought an exotic Pichu egg whilst on a journey to some sunny islands, knowing if she didn’t buy it an irresponsible child or ill willed person would buy the egg. She evolved the Pichu far too quick, leading to a telekinetic baby who could shoot electricity whilst surfing. However, he eventually matured as his mind caught up to his fully evolved body. He’s still very bubbly and a bit cowardly, but is very determined.

Shaymin – The spirit of gratitude, who allied itself with Star in the final battle for the world. It saw that even though she was very critical, she had a strong appreciation for what she found right in the world. This gratitude attracted Shaymin to her.

      • Infernape – Monkeyfuzz aided this young Chimchar in keeping a calm, clear headed approach to battle. The Chimchar was constantly abused by the leader of its troop, but after defeating it evolved and began to accompany Monkeyfuzz in his adventures. He’s calm minded and tactical like his trainer, but often needs to be calmed down when he gets far too passionate.

Venusaur – Trecking through the forest, Monkeyfuzz encountered a young Bulbasaur who was far too much of a pushover. Taking it under his wing, he raised into into a fine, proud Venusaur. Mega Evolution allows the two to overcome all obstacles and never be pushed over again.

Midday Lycanroc – A beloved family pet who became a great battler for Monkeyfuzz. He ran off to find Monkeyfuzz after he joined the guild, but was wayward until evolving and encountering his old master by chance. Loving and bubbly, unlike most proud presenting Lycanroc.

Greninja – Met as a Frogadier who was trying to be sneaky, but like Infernape was far too hot headed. It was actually Infernape who brought this to Monkeyfuzz’s attention and the fire-type brought the frog under his wing. He’s still quite reckless, but also now possess a level of cunning that helps him undermine foes.

Scizor – Met in a forest, where it had heard of Monkeyfuzz from comrades in the forest and decided to challenge him. He was impressed, and joined forces with him as a sort of reward. He’s very sensible and level headed, always seeking out a stronger enemy to prove its strength.

Hydreigon – A vicious beast who attacked the Guild building, many members seeked to bring it under their command. However, it was Monkeyfuzz, who took the long game and began to understand the beast and helped calm it down that captured it. He’s very hot headed, but is taking measurements to avoid collateral damage from its sheer strength.

Zekrom – the spirit of ideals saw Monkeyfuzz’s ideal world that would not come to fruition if they lost the final battle. Thus, it allied with him so both their ideals would come true.

          • I kinda want to know what you’d do with Jolteon. I think maybe Zekrom could be responsible for its’ evolution in some way.

    • Ace-Lucario (Yes, it can Mega Evolve, I also wanna give it something like the bond phenomenon, but I’m not sure)

      Lycanroc (Midday)
      Empoleon

      That’s about all I got

      • Lucario – The two have grown up like brothers, as Alex comes from a tribe of aura wielders. Almost everyone in the town has a Lucario or Riolu, and they’re all bonded very well. Alex’s is very excitable and always looking to fight, and becomes much more serious and brutal after Mega Evolution.

Incineroar – A beloved family pet turned heavy bruiser, Incineroar has been with Alex almost as long as Lucario. He’s rude, crude, and has a bad attitude. It’s all an act to hide his self consciousness however.

Lycanday – Attempting to fight Torracat, thus already evolved Lycanroc caused a lot of issues for Alex so he decided to capture it and use its power for itself. Very proud, aloof, and prone to doing its own thing, but it actually plays mentor to Alex and his team in subtle ways.

Empoleon – On an expedition to the far north, a young Piplup appeared before Alex. Never seeing a human itself, and the flock leader once having a human partner before they died, it was allowed to accompany Alex in order to grow as an individual. It’s very cheery, even fully evolved, even though it’s become a bit more serious. It’s a powerhouse, but a diamond in the rough.

      • Flygon – Golurk had actually once been trapped by a shiny Trapinch when he was a kid, so he literally dug it up and made it his friend. Despite funny beggings, the duo has seriously bonded and are like brothers now. Flygon is a bit reserved around strangers, but is always confident in its power.

Dedenne – A lifelong pet, this energetic scamp tagged along with Golurk to release some energy by battling with him. Excitable and always causing trouble, but adorable.

Metagross – An ancient enigma to all in the world, as it appears mechanical but has traits of organics. However, one thing is no enigma – Golurk’s Metagross is unusually jovial and happy for a Metagross, attributed to a loving, carefree trainer. Mega Evolution gives Metagross his species’ signature coldness and brutality.

Arcanine – A dying wish by an old man, Golurk was begged to take the last puppy of a Growlithe litter, as well as delivering the mother to the man’s own children. Golurk abided by this dying wish, and raised Growlithe into a powerful Arcanine with a stern sense of justice.

Kingdra – Stuck in seaside sand as a Seadra, Golurk assisted it and was met with immediate affection. Kingdra may act proud now, but was lonely before meeting Golurk and feels forever in debt to him.

Solgaleo – in the final battle, the God of the Sunne sensed the pure light within Golurk’s heart and trusted him to wield it in battle. Before this, he had raised this very same Solgaleo from a Cosmog when he found it being attacked by an odd creature that was out of this world…

      • Rhyperior – Earthen wrassled the largest and rowdiest Rhyhorn he could find to lead his Earthen army, and by Groudon did he find a beauty. Thicker skin than usual, much taller height, and a much more vicious demeanour – the only flaw being majorly decreased speed. It’s Earthen’s main Pokémon, and although his beliefs towards Mega Evolution prevents him from Mega Evolving his own Pokémon Rhyperior has proved its ability to go toe to toe with these further evolved fiends.

Emboar – Earthen lived in a small earthy town at the foot of a volcano, which means that Tepig wild and domesticated were abundant. Although Earthen was given the runt of the litter as the youngest child, he decided he’d raised the piglet into a ferocious boar – and he successfully did just that. Its smaller size offers it much better maneuverability and its Reckless ability grants it sublime strength. It’s actually very well mannered, but will always put on a tough act for its trainer and isn’t exactly a pushover either.

Heracross – It attempted to suckle on the honey that Earthen had bought for a treat. Although he was not very happy, attempting to battle the Heracross away revealed its Herculean strength and thus inspired Earthen to catch it. It has since been a reliable member of his team, and is always in a hustle and ready for a tussle.

Pangoro – Earthen had a Pancham plush when he was younger and caught one because it was a cute. Whilst this doesn’t sound Eartheny, what follows is: it become a proud ferocious warrior with a stubborn head and an even more stubborn body. It’ll take an amazing amount of hits before going down.

Golisopod – Wanting to add the night of Golisopod to his party, Earthen captured a Wimpod and trained all fear from it. Although this has left it practically ability-less, its determination and ability to last long in battle is amazing. It’s a vicious savage with a heart of gold… And claws of steel. It will hurt you if it’s told to. Badly.

Aerodactyl – In a fateful battle between Xerneas and Yveltal, with Earthen failing in assuring Yveltal’s victory, life energy leaked into is Old Amber and caused it to revive. Seeing the beast that had been restored to life, Earthen added it to his team and taught it how to inflict pain. It’s possibly the most vicious member if his team, only listening to Earthen and requiring defeat to stop it otherwise.

      • Dragonite – Fedex’s ace. Raising it from a Dratini after finding it badly injured post poacher attack, it grew to love Fedex as a family member and this bond allowed it to become stronger and stronger. It’s now a friendly Dragonite that would risk its life for its partner.

Arcanine – A loyal, lifelong pet of Fedex’s. Like many pets, it became a battle partner of Fedex’s. It’s got a proud sort of guard dog attitude, but loves its partner to pieces. It was already an Arcanine by the time it started, proving you can teach an old dog new tricks.

Blastoise – It was once just a baby Squirtle that was saved by Fedex after its clan was wiped out. But it was raised into a strong battler with wisdom beyond its years. Mega Evolution allows it to tap into the anger it holds towards the trauma early in its life

Conkeldurr – It was actually one of the construction Pokémon at the Guild, belonging to the Guild itself and not to an individual. But the curious young Timburr grew attached to Fedex and was adopted by them. It’s still very eager to learn as it’s grown, but is more aware of the dangers of curiosity.

Alakazam – A teleporting Abra was stealing goods in Fedex’s home town, so they took up the job request and decided to track it down and make sure it never went hungry again. It’s very grateful to the one who captured it, but still very proud of its intelligence to the point its often taken advantage of.

Articuno – the spirit of winter, a time that was always troublesome for Fedex’s homeland, Articuno graced the young Guild member with its power as they were amongst one of the few who could truly understand its terrific power.

      • Decidueye – Around the literal Ghost Town Seraph lived in were the Ebony Woods. As part of town tradition, Seraph was sent alone to capture his first partner – and if he did not return, he was unworthy of being a member of town. He was ridiculed for bringing back Rowlet, before the town elder was in shock. Rowlet was itself not yet a Ghost, but was incredibly rare. A tradition in the elder’s day was to celebrate Rowlet and its evolution as guardians who scared away mortal insects and spectral threats. So, Seraph was accepted as a true member of the town before setting of to join a Guild with his newfound partner. Decidueye often plays it cool and radiates confidence, but surprising it reveals some of its inner dork.

Araquanid – Annoyed that Butter’s Litten could defeat his Rowlet, Seraph caught a Pokémon to assure that he’d never lose again to Butter. Dewpider fit the bill – and the eager spider was ready to take on and defeat new opponents. Araquanid is a bloodthirsty battler, but young and cute Pokémon activate its mother mode.

Vikavolt – Many Grubbin had surrounded the Guild after a thunderstorm, and deciding to expand his team further Seraph captured one of them. It rapidly grew into a Vikavolt, which served as his ace into the others also fully evolved. It’s no longer his stoengest, but it’s still very strong. Quiet, reserved, yet determined.

Spiritomb – After a mining incident, an Odd Keystone was struck, releasing 108 malicious spirits from within that possessed many people within and around the Guild. Using Decidueye’s Spirit Shackles go gather them back into the Keystone, they once again formed Spiritomb, which Seraph caught for safety and coolness reasons. The thing is fucking evil. But it enjoys battling and it gets to do that a lot, so it’s contempt… For now…

Marshadow – during the final battle, the spirit of determination saw Seraph’s fighting spirit shine through, even when he was the only fighter not yet paired with a Pokémon diety. Thus, they fought as brothers in arms and helped each other tremendously.

  56. I have a question, might or might not take your advice.
So for the past month and a half or so, I’ve been in game limbo. You probably all know the feeling- I have games I’ve been meaning to play, but no current motivation to play them (right now it’s HZD and Pokemon Red). I’m super hyped for Odyssey, but I’m impatient and that’s a whole ten days away. I’m debating whether or not to pick up FE:Warriors on Friday or not. On one hand, I can afford it currently and I’ve had my eye on it for a while now, but on the other, I could just wait until Christmas, as I’m trying to prepare myself for the game-pocalypse that will be late Oct to early Dec.

Side note: I recently got a 25 dollar Amazon card, but since I don’t normally use Amazon, I can’t compound it with anything to get a full game. I could just get a ton of candy, but I don’t know. Any suggestions?

    • If you can afford Warriors and are interesting in getting it, then why not. I’d recommend you buying it if you are impatient for playing a game

      Reply
      • Yeah, I guess you’re right about that. I’m just wondering if I really should buy it now, with three games I’m getting for sure in the coming month.

Ah, well. I have midterms the rest of the week, so I don’t have too much time to think about it. Either way, soon I’ll be drowning in games, and that’s a good thing.

      • The thing is, it’s only ever gonna be 25 dollars, so I can’t compound it towards a game. Though, if some book or other thing released, I could use it then. Better to have it for a rainy day I guess.

          • In theory I could ask my parents to use their credit card and I could just pay them directly, that might work. Other than that, I don’t really have any sort of payment method to pay the rest, though I think that might work…

She wanted to play Life is Strange but decided against it because it has too much cussing. But when I first started following her should would play Skyrim and Raft and not worry about that..

  60. So, to talk more about the PJN anime, would your character have any special abilities? I’ve already stated that for the anime I’m making (I’m not sure whether I’ll transfer that over to this one though), my character has a Lucario form that he can go in and out of, as well as the ability to manipulate aura in general.

      • The first stage was gonna be sort of a common lizard of sorts (maybe early on in a cave), then evolves into a super godly looking one with wings made out of pure Light and is super awesome looking

The second stage is Named Paxagon (Pax (in Latin literally means peace)+ Nope not Dragon, it’s based on the word Paragon)

      • I’ve got it modest and the both parents have 5IVs. Aiming for 5IV without attack, but 6 would be fine, whatever comes first. I’ve got electroweb on it as well. Generally want it to be an offensive support, hoping to pair it with a faster ground type maybe. Really I just to use it on my USUM playthrough first, it’s the last member of my team I have to breed

  63. I’m hooked with this PJ anime thingy, so I’m going to do a character bio about my character:
    Name – Golden
    Age – 17
    Eye Color – Brown
    Hair color – Dirty Brown
    Favorite Type – Steel
    Hometown – Pinehurst City
Personality – Golden is a jovial and content young man with an optimistic drive for goals. His demeanor in battle reflects this very similar, yet you can see a hint of seriousness in his eyes. He’s pretty laidback with everyday life, yet always wants to include at least something fun everyday too.

Golden is also prone to be kind and forgiving to others, never truly expressing anger towards something (unless if it’s personal). He additionally aspires to help out others in anyway possible, whether to make up for something or out of generosity. This prompts him to join the Guild so he can contribute to something big by offering his help.

      Name: Alex
      Age:13 (pre-time skip), 16 (post time-skip)
      Eye Color:Brown
      Hair Color:Brown
      Favorite Type-???
      Home-New York
Bio-Alex is a very laid back person. He likes to joke around a lot with his friends and hangs around with them a lot. He is also a very kind-hearted person, being willing to help his friends if they need it. He may seem uncaring, but he cares very deeply for his friends and family. After being sent to the Mystery Dungeon world along with his best friend, Sam, he gained the power to transform into a Lucario at will. After parting with his friends for 3 years to settle back into normal life, he spent a lot of the time training to strengthen himself, eventually awakening the ability to use aura outside of his Lucario form, mainly being able to shoot blasts of it out of his fingers. If he sees his friends being beaten down, he is merciless towards the person (or people) who did it. Along with building up his strength, his training has also made him much faster.
Yeah, that’s about all I can think of.

    • I think the main concept can do well. You just have to make sure to balance out the characters and give the Weavile a good character arc (define it as a character). You could follow conventions such as: Weavile is a hapless pokemon drafted into a war and forges its own army or have the Weavile create an army due to oppression.

  65. I remember my Pokemon Mystery Dungeon plot for gen 6… If you’re reading this sit tight cause it’s a long one.

You wake up with no memory of who you are except that you’re a human. You’re in the middle of a vast desert. you meet your partner pokemon who asks you to help him out in a nearby town. Pokemon civilization has become concentrated to small pockets due to a severe disaster several thousand years ago. Between these pockets is a vast desert-like area called the Expanse with very poor vegetation, nutrients and Population etc. The expanse is full of rogue pokemon who went berserk and thus had to be exiled from Pokemon civilisation. Your partner is very timid and hates to venture from home but wants you to save his friend togetic who is lost in the expanse. You carry out various rescue missions within the expanse until you stumble upon an ancient ruin. Once you enter it, you realise it has a diverse ecosystem contrary to the bland Expanse. At the end of the ruin you find a weird technological device and Togetic passed out. You rescue togetic and the device starts malfunctioning causing the entire mystery dungeon to crumble. Togetic leads you to the wise old sage Alakazam who is said to know all the information of the world from its birth and due to this he has reverted to a catatonic spiritual state. You wake up Alakazam who battles you at first but after calming down, tells you about an ancient race of monsters several thousand years ago that built the ruins you saw. They are mystery dungeons and are simulations of different ecological systems. The monsters tried to take the environment into their control and exploited its resources. Finally, the environment manifested as a creature of order and annihilated the entire world, leaving only the expanse in its place. Gradually over time, small pockets of life began to reform and Pokemon evolved in these areas. Pokemon had always respected nature and thus were left unharmed by the creature of order. Alakazam warns you not to explore the ruins (mystery dungeons) lest you incur the wrath of the creature of order. Togetic disagreed with Alakazam, saying that Pokemon do not deserve to be imprisoned. Togetic is then revealed to actually be Zoroark, who together with Malamar and Musharna, are trying to rally for Pokemon to freedom. Alakazam warns them that the freedom they think they want might not actually be what they get.

You meet with Zoroark and co in the ruins again to save Togetic, at which point Zoroark shows you the engravings of the ancient race. He tells you about the three ecospheres, the Life Sphere, the Destruction Sphere and the Order Sphere. The wielder of these spheres could control all of nature. He shows you how the ancient race had gained control of Life and Destruction by conquering the creatures Xerneas and Yveltal but were unable to obtain the Order Sphere. Zygarde, the creature of order, let lose its wrath upon them. Zoroark says he will release Togetic if you and your partner help him steal the ecospheres. You help steal the ecospheres and finally in the Chamber of Order, after you steal the third, Zoroark shows up along with Hoopa. Hoopa reveals that she is one of the ancient race known as Humans, as is the player character. Several thousand years ago, Humans captured Xerneas, Yveltal and Zygarde in order to take control of nature. They built mystery dungeons using Zygarde’s power in order train Pokemon and create simulated environments, thus fragmenting Zygarde into several Cells. Finally all the Zygarde Cells rebel by reforming into Zygarde perfect form and laying devastation upon Humans. A secret team of scientists formulated a plan to help humanity survive, by cryogenically freezing the five human scientists (Hoopa, Zoroark, Malamar, Musharna and the Player) to be reawakened in the future when the world had begun to heal. They created a device that would allow these five scientists to transfer their consciousnesses into Pokemon to blend in. An error in transfer causes the player character to lose his/her memories and forget the prerogative. After laying waste to the world, Zygarde’s energy was drained and it reverted to its fragmented form. Hoopa then offers a choice to the player. To hand over the ecospheres and help humanity rise again, in full control of their world around them. In this case, Zygarde will reform and battle the player character. Once defeated, Hoopa will realize her mistake and relinquish control. The other choice is to refuse and thus help Zygarde reawaken. In this case, Hoopa transforms into Hoopa-unbound and battles the player. Once defeated, Hoopa is forced to relinquish control.

    The World

Our story is set in the world of Aion. Although it shares similarities to the Earth we know, such as having a near identical passage of time, it is very clearly divided into three. These regions are known as Eos, Astra, and Chrona.

Eos is the World of Light, where regardless of the season it’s only dark for eight hours maximum. It is much warmer than most of Astra, and is typically warmer than Chrona regardless of season. It’s a peaceful land of idyllic scenery, including rolling hills, flowery meadows, and sunny shores. It has a stable, strict political scene. Eosites look out for each other, and expect the same from them: Eosi culture can come across as very patronising. Its leadership can be described almost a sort of benevolent dictatorship – the leading family has never stepped down after uniting Eos as a whole, and even the voted heads of Eos’ areas must obey them. Everything and everyone has a place. The following six types have a special affinity for Eos:

Grass, Electric, Fairy, Psychic, Steel, Fighting, Water, Flying, Normal

Some of its primary deities are:

    Raikou – Spirit of Thunder
    Entei – Spirit of Ash
    Suicune – Spirit of Snow
Ho-oh – God of Good Weather
Kyogre – God of the Sea
    Cresselia – Spirit of Dreams
    Zekrom – God of Ideals
    Victini – Spirit of Victory
    Xerneas – God of Preservation
Tapu Koko – Guardian of Conflict
Tapu Fini – Guardian of Life
Tapu Bulu – Guardian of Abundance
Tapu Fini – Guardian of Hope
Solgaleo – God of the Sunne

Astra is the World of Darkness. The rugged terrains of Astra are usually cloaked in the dark veil of night, with daylight never lasting longer than eight hours during the Summer. Astrean culture revolves around individual strength and survival. There is no formal government: each civilisation has its own leadership. Astra strongly varies in its hellish geography: icy fields, volcanic plains, treacherous forests, dry deserts – all interrupted by sporadic looking mountains that house terribly strong Pokémon. The following nine types have a special affinity for Astra:

Ice, Poison, Dragon, Dark, Bug, Rock, Fire, Ground, Ghost

Some of its primary deities are:

    Articuno – Spirit of Hail
    Zapdos – Spirit of Lightning
    Moltres – Spirit of Heat
    Lugia – God of Storms
Groudon – God of the Earth
    Darkrai – Spirit of Nightmares
    Cobalion – Warrior of Guidance
    Terrakion – Warrior of Trials
    Virizion – Warrior of Rumination
    Keldeo – Warrior of Resolution
    Reshiram – God of Truth
    Yveltal – God of Destruction
Lunala – God of the Moone
    Marshadow – Spirit of Labour

Chrona is the World of Balance. It is in between Eos and Astra in every single way: day and night fluctuate with the seasons more freely, the landscapes are more varied yet flow naturally, and politically freedom is key, yet order must still be maintained. Chronian people vary much more in appearance and attitude than the other two regions of the world. Their politics are as close to a true democracy as possible. Chrona is one of the two barriers between Eos and Astra – the other, opposite to Chrona on the globe, is the Origin Peaks, the largest mountain chain in the world which was said to be placed by the Supreme Creator in order to prevent further conflict between the warring nations.
No type has a special affinity for Chrona, but this also means all types are on equal footing. It takes certain aspects of Eosi and Astrean culture, which leads to no nation wide type preferences.

They worship almost all deities, with a few of them being:

    Mew – Spirit of Origin
    Celebi – Spirit of Seasons
    Latios – Spirit of Masculinity
    Latias – Spirit of Femininity
    Jirachi – Spirit of Wishes
Rayquaza – God of the Skies
    Mesprit – Spirit of Emotion
    Azelf – Spirit of Willpower
    Uxie – Spirit of Knowledge
    Arceus – The Supreme Creator
    Kyurem – God of Boundaries
    Meloetta – Spirit of Inspiration
    Zygarde – God of Order
    Hoopa- God of Thieves

As well as deities, there are ‘demons’. These creatures appeared in the past from a hole in the sky, and their true names were struck from the records – even uttering their name is believed to rouse them. They are as follows:

    Symbiont – Destroyer of Inhibition
    Absorption – Destroyer of Energy
    Beauty – Destroyer of Abstinence
    Lighting – Destroyer of Secrecy
    Blade – Destroyer of Protection
    Blaster – Destroyer of Patience
    Gluttony – Destroyer of Charity
    Burst – Destroyer of Structure
    Assembly – Destroyer of Liberty
    Adhesive – Destroyer of Independence
    Prism – Destroyer of Light

    1. Have Lillie leave to Kanto at the end of the story like in SM?
    -or-
    2. Have Lillie stay in Alola, but for some reason this will lead to Guzma departing at the end of the story?
