Following on the heels of today’s earlier trailer released on television in Japan, more information has been revealed in a new English trailer.
Details
- Player will be able to traverse an Ultra Wormhole on the back of Solgaleo or Lunala in a mini-game of sorts
- You’ll be able to battle Ultra Beasts at their home dimension/space by traveling through the Ultra Space
- Ultra Megalopolis (pictured right), can be reached by traveling through the Ultra Space and has had all of its light stolen by Necrozma
- New characters are part of the Ultra Recon Squad and have had their names revealed as Dulse, Zossie, Phyco and Soliera – the latter two will have major roles in Ultra Moon, while the former two are more prominent in Ultra Sun
- Player is seen battling members of the Squad
- A new Ultra Beast, UB: Adhesive (Poison Pin Pokémon), has been discovered. It’s a Poison-type with the ability Beast Boost
- UB: Burst (Fireworks Pokémon) is Fire/Ghost-type and knows a new move “Mind Blown” which causes it to lose half its maximum HP
- UB: Assembly (Rampart Pokémon) is Rock/Steel-type

At least Assembly wasn’t as hyped up as Guzzlord (for me at least) I was hyped to fight and catch him but then Primarina used a fury move and left him with like 3 hp, I had a harder time with Xurkitree

but wait if Solgaleo / Lunala are absorbed by Necrozma how come are we riding them in the Ultra Wormholes? hmm obviously that has to be a later postgame plot where we can have both unfused.
Maybe in UM we ride Solgaleo

IIRC they could be based off Japanese demons that are based on inaminate objects. A lot of object Pokemon tend to have some basis in Japanese lore with some obvious exceptions.

So something important that I remembered:
We know for sure that between Lunala and Necrozma in the new alola dex there are nine spots but now we have ten UBs.
We know some UBs are seen before national dex: Burst; Assembly; Guzzlord; Adhesive. This leaves 5 free spots that can be occpied by Nihilego/Pheromosa/Buzzwole/Kartana/Celeestela/Xurkitree or be completly new UBs and leaving all the others to post game.
Please notice that we have seen all the Ultra Worlds for Nihilego/Pheromosa/Buzzwole/Kartana/Celeestela/Xurkitree while we haven’t see the Ultra Worlds for the UBs which are before National Dex so maybe we will catch these last on Alola and all the others in their USpaces —> we are not gonna see Guzzlord Ultra space. Me sad.
Last night’s trailer showed Xurkitree appear in Alola as well, yet we’ll still be able to visit its Ultra “Home”, so maybe the same happens with Guzzlord.

Alright Game Freak, you’ve officially earned my hype and attention. Our first Poison-type Legendary is nothing to scoff at. Also, the whole concept of a society built around a huge light tower is just genius. I’M ACTUALLY EXCITED NOW!

But is it actually a neccesary part of our team? I hope not
I was initially a bit sad that (as far as it seems) the only new Pokémon in USUM are Ultra Beasts/Legendaries, simply because I always leave them untouched. However, these designs are so great that I can’t possibly be disappointed about it. It’s a blessing that we’re getting new Pokémon in a third version at all. I’m just praying for the chance that we get more new Pokémon that don’t come out of a wormhole.
