A poster for the upcoming games Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon has revealed some small details or hints about the titles. It is currently being used as advertising in Japan.
In it you can see that Lillie carries a Pokéball—she had aspired to be a trainer in the original Pokémon Sun & Moon games, but never truly had a Pokémon of her own. This suggests that she will have a somewhat different role this time around and may be a trainer herself now.
There are also several mysterious figures in the back which may be new looks for familiar characters or new ones entirely.
Twitter follower Dee shared a nice enhanced version that makes it easier to see them from a Japanese account, which we have included below:

Ok I think USUM take place a few years later without the events of SM occuring.
So none of that Lusamine, AF or Team skull..nothing has happened not even our arrival.
In these years several changes have occured.
e.g. new trials, league may already established, possibly a new evil team AND Lillie may have already been to Kanto.
Then we move in and now the story starts except its years later with diff characters added, new mons, areas its like the opposite of going back in time. Rather we go to the future.
Lets say SM events started on November 2016 so USUM jumps ahead to 2017 and now the events unfold, except this time a whole year has passed. its a whole new ball game.
What do you guys think, I’m 99% sure on this one.

I think that’s just fan speculation. Either way it doesn’t matter. Maybe in this timeline the event in which the UB showing up at Aether Paradise happens later on. We don’t even know if it’s the same UB showing up or not. It could be a brand new one like with the event with Halal meeting Burst and Assembly instead of Pheromosa and Buzzwole

It’s already been said to be an alternate telling of the story. So what’s stopping the same general events from happening at a different point in the timeline if this is a alternate universe?
The story has minor alterations like all third versions otherwise is the same story. It will not be anything more than that.
We don’t know that tho fully. It’s sure to be some kind of retelling of SM, but we don’t know the extent of what’s been changed. Clearly we have some major changes with the 4 new characters from the poster. Lillie already being a trainer and Hau being with Hala when the UBs attack are already HUGE changes. Unless you’re from the future you really can’t say any better than us if it’s only a minor upgrade to SM or a little more.
I am not saying it won’t be a major upgrade I am saying it won’t be a sequel.
But if the events of SM didn’t happen then it isn’t a sequel. Fedex says it in his post that the events of SM haven’t taken place.
The exact same story is happening who cares about anything else. Sure there are differences but it is the same story.

What else could it be then? Logic tells you that it is the same story, with some additions here and there & perhaps some subtle changes. But the main plot is the same

I would picture it to be something more like My Hero Academia, most of the population has superpowers (Or Quirks), but not everyone.

I’d honestly probably abuse my powers if I had any. Well, it would depend on what said power is.
I would use mine mostly for good, but also for selfish reasons.
What would you want your power to be?
Near Infinite Creation, then I can just create every other power for myself. It wouldn’t allow me to instantly create life from nothing but that’s the only limit.
For me, Aura Manipulation (think Lucario). I’d be able to use it for all kinds of stuff, even weaponize it (I was thinking something similar to Yusuke’s Spirit Gun).

I can’t remember, in the Sinnoh games how much (if at all) do Dialga and Palkia actually use their Time and Space powers respectively?
From what I can remember, in DP both legends used their powers to an extent at Spear Pillar, however in Platinum, I don’t believe if it was any time Dialga and Palkia used their powers.
Most likely due to the [Red Chain] used on them to keep them bound.
