Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon Poster Reveals New Details, Mysterious Figures

A poster for the upcoming games Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon has revealed some small details or hints about the titles. It is currently being used as advertising in Japan.

In it you can see that Lillie carries a Pokéball—she had aspired to be a trainer in the original Pokémon Sun & Moon games, but never truly had a Pokémon of her own. This suggests that she will have a somewhat different role this time around and may be a trainer herself now.

There are also several mysterious figures in the back which may be new looks for familiar characters or new ones entirely.

Twitter follower Dee shared a nice enhanced version that makes it easier to see them from a Japanese account, which we have included below:

Looks intriguing, no?! I think the art struck a very epic tone and now let’s just hope the games live up to it!

  1. I would love for they aether foundation characters besides lusamine to shine in the story, maybe with a role in alola’s ecosystems instead of a focus on ultra beasts. Idk wishful thinking

  2. I really want these games to be good. I strongly believe that they won’t just be cash grabs and will actually bring worthy content to the series, much like B2W2. Less than 2 months now, regardless.

  4. Okay this is actually pretty exciting! Lillie holding a pokeball is nice. Hopefully it means she doesn’t go to kanto in this one. Wonder what her Pokémon will be. I am assuming alolan vulpix and maybe the final starter Pokémon. And those mysterious figures really have me intrigued. Wonder who they are. Hopefully we find out soon!

  5. Maybe those are Ultra Space researchers from Aether, or scientists from the other underground labs on Aether Paradise, maybe the ones who worked on Type:Null?

    • Yeah. Though I mean PCs being different isn’t a huge thing. It is an alternate dimension/reality so it does make some amount of sense as well thematically.

      • ok i was just wondering cuz i actually wasn’t the biggest fan of of the protag designs of sun and moon so i thought maybe they were different but i couldn’t tell

        • Female protag of SM was cute. But yeah these are two different designs. Which both looks cute though they look young rather than the older look we had been getting recently.

          • I kind of like the idea of having just one set thing and that these characters are their own person but that really isn’t the type of game Pokemon is, so I mean being able to customize your character does make some amount of sense and I don’t absolutely despise it.

          • Each to their own, I think the customisation is generally a very popular feature and most welcomed it. I mean we’ve always been able to choose our own names so that changes it up a bit too.

          • yeah thats true, customization is very popular so i guess thats where i dislike it. I always just go with the basic default

          • I guess it comes down to how you experience it. Some people like to be able to better represent themselves in games in order to feel like they are more part of it. Others like to become an entirely new character, separate from themselves. Personally I’m fine with both, though I do somewhat enjoy the customisation, and get annoyed by the lack of options. Though really without age, height and other such parameters there’s only so far your avatar can really represent your real life appearance or your ideal self.

    • I was lukewarm on SM but this seems to be making a lot of changes for the better for me personally alongside some more stuff to actually differentiate it from SM now that they are finally showing more 2 months out from release.

    • We don’t know much beyond the wording in the first announcement trailer that these are in an alternate Alola. As to her “Z-form” eh… *shrug* Could just be late game shot of her.

  6. There was a thing back when SuMo was out that mentioned Nebby typically was a Pokémon seen near royalty
Perhaps that’s what the sillouettes are?

  8. Actually there were many leaks who talked about a new evil team; some call it Team Rainbow, other said it was a revamped version of Team Rcket…apparently we will have new bad guys.
