Pikachu Outbreak-Chu Event: Mewtwo in GO, Snapchat Filter & More!

To tie in with the Pikachu Outbreak-chu event in Yokohama, Mewtwo has officially been released via Legendary Raid in Pokémon GO as an exclusive to the Pokémon GO Stadium event in Yokohama, Japan!

Shortly after Mewtwo’s first appearance in the stadium, Niantic released an official statement that it would be coming to players worldwide via a new mechanic called Exclusive Raid Battles. These work exactly like regular raid battles with the only difference being to participate in them you have to be invited to them. To receive an invitation trainers must have successfully defeated a raid boss recently at the Gym where the Exclusive Raid Battle will be taking place – meaning that it’s completely by chance and there’s no way (that we know of yet) to predict which Gyms will spawn an Exclusive Raid Battle later. The invitations will include advance warning of when the Exclusive Raid will take place, giving trainers ample time to coordinate with other Trainers before taking on the powerful Raid Boss.

It was also confirmed in the statement that Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and Lugia will be returning to Legendary Raid from today until August 31st!

Pikachu Snapchat Filter

Along with Mewtwo, a special Pikachu snapchat filter will be available for the next 3 days! The filter gives you a pair of signature Pikachu ears, nose and red cheeks (and luckily enough also air brushed my skin and shaved off a good 10 pounds from my face) – if you open your mouth it activates Pikachu to charge in from the left side of the screen to give you an electric kiss, allowing your face to give off bolts of electricty before Pikachu returns to the bottom left of the screen. There is no additional use of the filter on the back facing camera.

Ditto & Mimikyu Distribution

Last but not least, in addition to the announced distribution of Pikachu at the Pikachu Outbreak-chu Carnival Parade in Yokohama, two other Pokémon are having a special distribution: Mimikyu and Ditto! Mimikyu is Level 10 with the moves Astonish, Copycat, Baby-Doll Eyes, and Splash, while the Ditto is holding a Light Ball.

  1. Ugh!!!! I was finally able to get to the final boss on the flying battery level of Sonic, but I choked……..I think I was almost able to beat it too which sucks…….Now I gotta trudge all the way through the level again lol

    Solgaleo – based off the Lion Who Devours the sun in Alchemy

    Lunala – based off the Bat Who Devours the moon in Alchemy

    Now, I think that Necrozma is based off a Magnum Opus in Alchemy
    There are 4 steps to create the Philosopher’s Stone in alchemy:

    1: Nigredo – blackness, ”the dark night of the soul, when an individual confronts the shadow within”
    >Necrozma

    2: Albedo – whiteness, the washing away of impurities
    >Ultra Lunala

    3: Citrinitas – Yellowness, transmutation from silver into gold. Stood for the dawning of ”solar light” inherent in one’s being, and that the reflective ”lunar or soul light” was no longer necessary.
    >Ultra Solgaleo

    4: Rubedo – redness, signalled alchemical success, and the end of the great work.
    >??? (Note: both Solgaleo AND Lunala’s shiny sprites are a bright red

    In short: Necrozma is an empty husk (like Kyurem) since its been away from Ultra Space for so long, therefore cut off from its energy and looking like the way it does.

    I think, in USUM we may very well witness Necrozma attempting to absorb Solgaleo/Lunala in order to achieve its perfect (complete form) or in alchemy terms, Magnum Opus.

    – First full length trailer for Ultra Sun and Moon
    – Doesn’t show anything too important, but shows a few minor changes and will elaborate whether it’s a third version, heavily changed third version, a what if, or a sequel.

    Pessimistic guess:

    – First appearance of Dusk Lycanroc in an English speaking trailer

    Optimistic:

    – Elaboration on the mascots

  15. We’ll bored so I decided I’ll just spoil my Starters names now (Seraph hope you like’em)

    Grass Type Raccoon is,
    Razoon!
    (Raccoon+Razor)
    It has Razor Blade Leaves shaped like Boomerangs on its shoulders

    Fire Type Bunny is,
    Pybbit!
    (Pyro+Rabbit)
    Doesn’t have a solid gimmick yet

    Water Type Elephant is,
    Bublant!
    (Bubble+Elephant)
    It will a darker blue than phanpy, a bubble on the end of its tail and has soapy bubbles along its back

          • But fairy mons have a lot of potential for fakemon! Dude, I’m planning on making a fan game too (and like Im few steps in front of you, I have a whole Fakedex and RPGmaker) and I’ll have twice as much work, cause I’ll add fairy to existing mon. Don’t plan on being lazy, Fairy types are worth working for half an hour. Try to make fairy type fakemons, you’ll see.

          • It’s his choice if he doesn’t want to include Fairy-types or not. It’s not ‘lazy’ because he can redistribute his ideas elsewhere.

          • I’d rather have a single typed starter than a double typed starter with a far fetched secondary typing, and the typings won’t matter if the Pkms are interesting enough

          • It makes the pokemon more complex. One great thing about starters is that you can see your pokemon change, that’s bettter than staying the same for three stages. I love sammurott, but he’d be better with a secondary type (fighting)

          • Complex? Not really, the secondary type doesn’t change much the appearance of the starter, like Decidueye, Primarina and Emboar, you can remove their second types and their designs wouldn’t have to change at all.

            Also, we don’t need a secondary ntype to see our Pkms changing, they already show us this by changing their appearance, having better moveset and stats

          • I feel like if the design was fitting, it could easily be a rock type, most fountains are made out of rock

        • Ideas:
          Racoon
          Razoon -> Sharpoon Grass -> Scrapcoon Grass/Steel it holds blades shaped like leafs made out of metal. He has grey parts on its body that shine. it has a helmet made out of diffrent parts of metal crewed together. It made it from trash.

          Pyrit -> Earcoal Fire -> Rabburn Fire/Rock Its Ears and Tail are made out of coal. It has little horns that can produce antlers made out of fire.

          • Stop making ideas for other people’s Fakémon without them asking. It’s just off-putting because when you come to make your own evos you try and distance yourself from unwanted suggestions.

  20. 2 things! FIRST I just wanna say I never knew how useful Shedinja was for SOS hunting until today!!! Mine still needs to level up quite a bit before it can 1HKO everything, but it’s getting there. Shout out to @vishkartechsupport:disqus for the heads up on that one! Between Shedinja and Smeargle I’ll be unstoppable lol
    SECOND! Apparently during an AMA Reddit thread some reporters from Game Informer were asked if they learned anything new about USUM. They said they learned a thing about a single new feature and would be posting something about said feature tomorrow. So who wants to bet they were asked to hold off on releasing their article on the new feature until tomorrow because whatever it is will be revealed at Worlds tomorrow morning? hahaha

  22. The more I think about it the more I think the new feature will be walking Pokemon. It’s been a long time coming and it’s the kind of thing they can drop without actually having to give any additional info on the games. That way they can show something “new” without actually showing something NEW

  25. One thing I think having walking Pokemon will fix for me is how in SM the other characters talk about you and whatever Pokemon you have in your first party slot. It always annoyed me that they kept mentioning a Pokemon that they really shouldn’t have known was in my party and on top of that if they were gonna mention a Pokemon it should have been the starter. This way it’ll make WAY more sense for them to say “You and your (insert Pokemon here) are a great team!”

      • I mean it’s not like that stopped them in HGSS. Whenever you were in a space with less to work with your Pokemon would go back in it’s ball. Like in Pokemon centers. That said if they expanded certain areas and added onto the region I wouldn’t complain lol

    • I do hope walking with Pokemon is a feature in the next game with a toggle. Personally, I don’t care for it, but I do see why fans enjoy it as a novelty.
