Lycanroc Hinted to be Getting New Form(s)

The anime recently ended its weekly airing in Japan and teased the potential evolution of Ash’s Rockruff. There are several things that point towards a new form, or forms, for its evolution Lycanroc. Here’s what we’ve found:

CLUE 1: Evolution takes place at dusk

Based on the latest anime preview, it seems that Rockruff is beginning to evolve at neither day or night, but at dusk. This is played up as the sun straddles the horizon and Rockruff looks into the light as a strange green energy seems to illuminate its eyes. CLUE 2: Mystery products still unrevealed

We’ve posted about mysterious product listings before and there is also a new anime-related plush set to be announced on August 10… the same day next week’s episode will air.

CLUE 3: Pokémon Global Link placeholder image

Another mysterious piece of the puzzle comes from an image off the Pokémon Global Link website which lists Lycanroc as having not 2, but 4 forms. Could there be dawn and dusk forms coming as well? It seems to make sense based off of what the anime is showing us.

  9. I may download Sage. the last time I played they only had 1 gym available and then there were rocks stopping you from leaving that town. That was a couple of year ago. I’m interested to see how it’s changed.

  10. I finally beat Sage! At least the first three gyms
    I might just start another file
    And note, for those concerned, Insurgence will be finished soon, maybe by the end of the month

  13. My only complaint about Sage from over the years is that some of the Pokemon don’t really look like Pokemon. Some of their designs are a bit too different and drastic that it kills the illusion.

  24. Honestly, I’m a little disappointed… Not about Rockruff getting another evolution (he’s on of my favorite Pokemon now!), but about the new games in general. No news on new Alolan Forms, the game seems like it’s just a slightly altered story, and then just one new Pokemon? I hope they show more about the games soon and announce some worthwhile things, or else this might be the first Pokemon game I have ever passed up since Yellow.
