Lycanroc Hinted to be Getting New Form(s)

The anime recently ended its weekly airing in Japan and teased the potential evolution of Ash’s Rockruff. There are several things that point towards a new form, or forms, for its evolution Lycanroc. Here’s what we’ve found:

CLUE 1: Evolution takes place at dusk

Based on the latest anime preview, it seems that Rockruff is beginning to evolve at neither day or night, but at dusk. This is played up as the sun straddles the horizon and Rockruff looks into the light as a strange green energy seems to illuminate its eyes. CLUE 2: Mystery products still unrevealed

We’ve posted about mysterious product listings before and there is also a new anime-related plush set to be announced on August 10… the same day next week’s episode will air.

CLUE 3: Pokémon Global Link placeholder image

Another mysterious piece of the puzzle comes from an image off the Pokémon Global Link website which lists Lycanroc as having not 2, but 4 forms. Could there be dawn and dusk forms coming as well? It seems to make sense based off of what the anime is showing us.

  12. I see that 3 of my Switch friends from this site are on Team Ketchup. Regardless, I’m sticking with Mayo until the bitter end. I’ll likely be playing until 2am because I’ll be gone tomorrow, so look out for me 😛

      • I’m so pissed…my internet has been dropping in and out since Tuesday and I got the message saying l’ll be banned if it keeps happening. So I probably can’t play any of the game tonight. WHY does this happen now when I’ve had perfect connection before?

        • That really sucks. :/

          Reminds me of the early Splatoon days when my wifi was awful. I would get to play like one game per hour then, if I was lucky. It got fixed in time for the first splatfest though. Now the only thing I have to worry about is someone turning on the microwave (seriously does anyone else have this problem? Is this normal? We just got a new microwave, and this is new for me).

          • Actually, I think it’s working better now! We just had to reset our modem. So much for all that wasted time!

  16. I managed to make it to Mayo King, even with the constant threat of being BANNED due to my currently sketchy internet. Overall, I’d say wins and losses were about even, but our Mayo players could be pretty tough. Pull a win for me tomorrow while I’m in a car all day!
