  9. Off topic but I just want everybody to try out the new Miitopia demo. If you love or like RPG’sthis game is for you. The full game isnt out yet but i think you guys would really like it. Its very funny, cute, engaging and even the music is really nice. All in all its the perfect game for a person with an active and creative imagination seeing as you customize every character to fit in as you see fit. Just give it a go and I’m sure you won’t be disappointed!!

    Whats your Favorite Dark Type Leader/Pokemon? Least Favorite Dark Leader/ Pokemon? General Thoughts on the Dark Type?

    • FL: Karen. Karen has a pretty nice design, and her quote is my favorite in all of Pokemon.
      FP: Umbreon. Probably most people favorite eeveelution, but obviously we can see why. The Black body, gold rings, deep red eyes. Just look so good. It’s my favoeite stall pokemon too.

      LL: Grimsley. The way his hair spikes up is weird, and in SM he looks kinda dead.
      LP: Alola Persian: That fat face isnt cute. Sorry not sorry, I just think it looks so weird. Meowth doesnt even have this face. It just looks so random.

      Dark types are probably on the upper half side of my favorite types. They all have pretty cool designs, and most have good usage in the meta. They have my favorite non signature Z move, and just awesome moves in general. Idk maybe Im just an edgy person

      FP: It’s a tough one because I like so many but I’ll go with Shiny Greninja, even if I’d still prefer a Bubble scarf.
      LFL: Sidney, just barely remember him most of the time.
      LFP: Alolan Persian, stupid fat head that I just plain can’t like.

      Dark is one of my favourite types. I love many of their designs and attacks. I think we are long overdue an actual Gym Leader for it. I also think along with Ice type it has been quite unfairly treated this generation, with only 1 completely new non-legendary level (in this case Guzzlord) being introduced. On the subject of Alolan forms, I love A-Muk, like A-Rattata and A-Meowth, am indifferent to A.Raticate and don’t like A.Persian. I’d have preferred new good ones. I don’t think they should be immune to Prankster moves, just the priority of them. I think that there’s still plenty of room for good new ones and patiently await the first Dark/Bug, Dark/Electric and Dark/Fairy types.

    • I disagree for three reasons:
      1. Recognizing what a large portion of the fans are doesn’t mean they should begin to strictly direct it at them.
      2. The fans are fans for a reason. Changing the spirit and overall tone of the games might not go over well.
      3. Like Shofu said, most of the fans became fans as kids. To future-proof the series, they’re gonna need future fans as well.

      Now, that being said, some more serious themes might benefit the series, if it was done well. They shouldn’t just make it more mature for its own sake, that would just be pointless.

    5: Canada-Could be cool, but we just had north america
    4: South America-I don’t know many countries from there, but I know their myths are rad
    3: India-The culture has so much potential for a great region
    2: Slavic countries: I would love that, but it would ruin my fan region, wouldn’t it?
    1: the UK: The myths, the climate, the culture, the nature! It’s a perfect fit for a region and it woud look great on the switch

    • my plot is that you and your snot nosed friend are new trainers moving into the vast and advancing region of Eyanu, over the years it was nothing but small villages and untamed land but it is being brought into the modern era,
      you meet Professor Banyan who is researching Pokemon Biology where you get your first pokemon
      as you progress you meet the thuggish brutes of a gang known as Team Quake who are causing trouble every which way, as you make it to the City of Glashara the prophetic Clara senses your importance in the stability of the region
      right around the 6th badge 3 major buildings had been raided and things were stolen, hazardous waste, explosives and a ancient urn. after discovering the underground base and meeting its Leader Lord Quake he tells you that Eyanu is going to pay
      you are caught by the region’s champion Freya and she wants your help because she and Clara sense a great evil on the Life Tree which is a towering mountain with a ancient tree said to be the heart of the region
      after scaling the great mountain with the life tree Lord Quake with his gang have all the instruments of destruction, he places the urn in the ground and releases the waste, this causes the life force inside the urn and the natural spiritual energy to corrupt and go berserk causing the very land to pollute and come to life in the form of a beastly pokemon Lord Quake dubs Toxigeddon, the Pokemon causes a rampage and Lord Quake subdues it, you battle him and his new Toxigeddon
      you automatically lose regardless of circumstance. Freya steps in and she knows only one way to save the region and you are told to go into the inner caverns with Freya’s Locket she gives you and after beating the admins that snuck in there you find a pulsating seed that you use the locket on which hatches into the legendary Gaiasis you fight it and you must Capture it, afterwards you fight a even stronger Lord Quake and Toxigeddon and beat him and Gaiasis purifies the Life Tree and Lord Quake is demasked and swiftly arrested

      Other legends are based off of myths
      Several Pokémon based on myths (Ifrit, Regional Lapras)
      Others on science (Dahimo, Cattleyst) and there’s also slight nature VS industry vibes (Hirsutox VS Ragaroot)

    • Eh, I have this little fan idea that I have since a few weeks, and is kinda underdeveloped.

      I think the main themes ( I never focus on themes tbh) would be something along the lines of Innovation, to decide wether to keep the traditions or innovate, the typical nature vs technology stuff and I probably about industrialization.

      The only mythical I have so far it’s Magearna, and it’s only name dropped so far.

  36. To add some conversation here during these dry periods; what was the first video game you remember playing? My first was Mario Kart: Double Dash when I was three year old. My siblings found a few pictures of me playing the game. My miniature hands could barely hold the entire GameCube controller. Also, I was in last place constantly. It kinda sucks being the youngest kid! I missed out on a bunch of good games aside from the GBA.

      • well i’m gearing up to fight Red, i found a Larvitar and i’m gonna power level all night to get a Tyranitar

        but here’s the biggest issue, in order to get to Red i’ll need Flash, Waterfall and Surf

        and for some asinine reason Feraligatr can’t learn surf, so that means i’ll have to dump a teammate in order to freaking fight the mute marauder and i wanna fight him with my whole team

    i mean i have the throttle on making it bearable but imagine doing this when the Virtual Console
    it took me 27 minutes of Biting Fearows just to get Larvitar to evolve (thank god for Exp Share) with super speed IT’LL TAKE A FREAKING MILLENNIUM ON THE REAL THING AND IF I WANT TO FIGHT RED EVERYONE SHOULD BE LEVEL 65+
    (seriously do you not understand how painful it was to level a weak level 4 Zubat to 12? it only had Leech Life and that did jack)
    and parts of me wonder if’ll be worth it on the real thing, i mean sure there’s the nostalgia of transferring the team to USUM but its not like they’ll be worth anything aside the potential to get old moves on pokemon and hidden abilities but it’ll just be PC fodder

    • Tyranitar is such a good Pokemon to use ingame in GSC. It’s a real shame that Larvitar, Slugma and Houndour are all Pokemon that I would’ve loved to have used come September time but for some reason, they thought it was a good idea to put them in the postgame which has always annoyed me!

        • It’s annoying cause I only use pokemon that are newly introduced in that generation so the only fire type I can use is Typhlosion. I wouldn’t have even cared if they put them as a late game –
          Slugma could’ve been found in the Dark Cave on the Blackthorn side
          Houndour on route 45 at night

  62. Been a while since I’ve commented on an article here – just been so busy with my final year of uni which I have now completed and will graduate in July.
    As a catch up from all the articles, already planned out my GS teams (and currently finishing off Blue as I never did from before).
    Excited for USUM and my thoughts are that it will be good, so I’m looking forward to that and using more Pokemon that I haven’t used before (who knows, maybe it’ll take place in an alternate universe and the base forms of Pokemon stay the same but they’ll all evolve into somin different – that would be cool and new).
    And finally, E3 looked good to me, still not convinced with buying a switch but might buy a new 3DS to play USUM/GS and also Fire Emblem Warriors as I love the games from Koei Tecmo (just love hack and slash) so maybe I’ll treat myself to a new 3DS after using my old one since it came out like 6 years ago

  69. Saw Wonder Woman, yesterday night. Pacing was off sometimes, but great actor performances and the ending was quite well conceived. Still quite a lot plotholes or stupid presumptions on the characters part.

    There was this weird part with a women speaking Dutch with a German accent, on the Allied side. Still don’t know why.

    • Agreed, also Aries looked kinda terrible at the end, like I think some of the CGI wasn’t too good in other places but his design was just bad.

      • The movie was fun though. There’s always this problem when trying to introduce a new superhero character, too much ‘backstory’ that is possible to fit in a movie. But there were some ‘like, uhh what made you think this’ moments in the movies. Like the entire premise of going to the Belgian front, to destroy a gas factory while the doctor was hiding in this German military base god knows where. The gala was also conviently placed next to Veld. Guess we can blame this all on Ares though.

        • Yeah, I think they handled the backstory fairly well. Spread some of it out for later in the movie and included the clayby origin in a way. There’s a few interactions that felt kind of forced but largely it is a good movie and it is the best of the current DC movie universe (although I hated Batman VS Superman and Suicide Squad was eh).

  71. How do you guys Play Pokemon through Story Mode? Go into detail if you want. I will start and set the example.
    Personally, I use ‘set’ battle mode. I think it makes the game much harder and more realistic. You never see in the anime “Im gonna send out Solrock, will you switch your Pokemon Ash?”
    Training wise, personally I always fight the gym leader no matter how underlleveled I am. I only start grinding after I lose around 3 times.
    Team wise, I usually make a team before I do a playthrough. But I went into Sun pretty blind, so its fun seeing new pokemon and how to make a team with those. Also I try not to repeat types, but that usually cant be helped.

    • I have it on switch as I like to balance my exp. gains. Although I often just leave what I have out in battle. I make sure to battle every trainer before a gym and am usually around the right level anyway. Since I plan my teams ahead usually I have something that can win through even if it’s quite under-leveled. I really don’t like type overlaps.

      • Oh I do that too. EXP balance is needed now. I remember as a kid I always had my starter the highest level. IDK why. I just needed it to be higher

    • I usually have on Switch for strategic and grinding purposes but I’m considering putting it on set, I don’t grind too much before a gym tbh, and I always make sure that none of my Pkms have a level too high/low compared to the other members

    • Me for story mode I go through the game as I usually do, but I also chroniclize (write it all in detail down) it, but I skip the harsher training (grinding) like the show does. I set to shift mode. And I also yeah try not to overlap alot, but if it happens so be it.

      • It can be tough when you are using Pokemon you like and there is type overlap, at least for me. It’s bad if a region doesn’t have a great distribution of types in the new Pokemon.

      Example in my run of X I had
      Chesnaught
      Diggersby
      Pamgoro
      Tyrantrum
      Barbarcle
      Avalugg

      Two fighting types and two rock types

          • because it took away its Ground Typing and Sandshrew is one of my most favorite Pokemon (i still have the little Sandshrew and Sandslash tomy figure i had when i was four)
            and i’m still annoyed by the whole steel typing, i like the type combo but its just making it worse off without Slush Rush to carry it and how it freaking became one in the first place i could overlook Sandslash getting it through evolution like Drilbur getting steel but Sandshrew just should’ve been pure ice to make it even
            also the damn Ice Stone they just HAD to give it to evolve i mean why would it need one the damn thing when the original doesn’t, i get Vulpix but i feel that was very slap-dashed just to give it more use (yeah yeah the Dawn Stone is similar but seriously they make a whole new evolutionary stone just to barely give any pokemon the pleasure of using it

          • That’s because it’s a new stone and they can distribute it to more Pokémon in the future. And other Pokémon had evolution methods changed, for example AloPersian now needs friendship and AloWak needs to evolve at night.

            It’s not like they stole Ground from Sandshrew. Its still a Ground type, it’s just that there’s a variation that isn’t Ground type anymore. There’s still Ground type Sandshrew so that’s not really a reason to hate it.

            And Aloshrew’s shell is steel? That’s why it’s steel type. Unlike Drillbur, who has no steel on it.

          • I’m saying how did it become steel out of nowhere, all they say on the official site is
            “Sandshrew’s body changed to adapt to the harsh environment of the snowy mountains. The Alolan Sandshrew has a shell of ice covering its skin, which is like hard steel. It excels defensively, but it lacks flexibility and can’t curl its body into a ball like a Ground-type Sandshrew can.”
            Like hard steel isn’t the same as is hard steel and that bugs me so much (especially the can’t curl into a ball part that’s like 75% why i love it so much)

          • Sun: lives on snowy mountains. Its steel shell is very hard—so much so, it can’t roll its body up into a ball.

            It’s shell could’ve become harder because it had more fierce predators, it’s as simple as that. There doesn’t need to be some kind of grand logic as long as it makes a decent design

            And they give loose reasoning to justify the designs, it doesn’t have to be realistic.

            And for all we know all Pokémon have fucked up genetics and it’s just Eevee has it the most fucked

    • If I plan a team on advance I try really hard for types to not overlap, but if I don’t plan my team I just catch anything that looks cool/pretty not caring about types overlapping

    • It depends. I never do more than two types over lapping and usually it is only if the two Pokémon can do well without getting overshadowed by the other. Like they have to be dual types

  74. Follow up question: how much can your teams change up whilst you’re playing the game?

    Although I make plans for fun, I actually tend to never follow them. I just pick stuff up if I like them, and then use them or box them depending. For example in my first ever run of Sun I levelled everything I caught on Melemele up to Level 15, but halfway through Akala I decided to use the Cutiefly I caught instead of the AloGrimer that killed Totem Gumshoos and Wishiwashi just because. I also wanted to use Tsareena, but needed a Grass type for Wishiwashi so I picked up Fomantis, and next thing I know I’m murdering the game with scope lens Leaf Blade

          And if I don’t plan in a new game I feel like I missed out on some and I don’t get to replay it until a new set of games come out so… yeahhh

  119. I’m more excited for the new IPs coming from Nintendo for the Switch than anything else. We have ARMS as a brand new addition, along with the continuation of Splatoon with Splatoon 2, but it’s confirmed that they’re doing even more than that. I still think that Luigi’s Mansion is the magnum opus of Nintendo’s off-the-wall new IPs, but ARMS is definitely bizarre and brilliant as well. I can’t stress it enough…Nintendo is back and the sky’s the limit. I’m going to take a shot in the dark and guess that they’re making a “rhythmic RPG” based on an alien punk band because, honestly, nothing can be predicted anymore. Heck, they’re probably making Luigi’s Mansion 3 as well. I was inspired to write this rant because of this cool video from E3 2001.     • So I’ve only got to do Repeat, Friend, Cherish and Beast in a team in order to complete this. Might knock out a few by the time USUM comes but actually tbh doing it in UlSun should be easy because

      Cherish – We’re probably getting an event Pokémon like we got Torchic, Beldum, and Munchlax for XY, ORAS, and SuMo.

      Repeat – Shows up early in Paniola Town, so if this stays the same I can use if for my Akala Capture since I’ve already used everything you can catch in Akala up to that point (besides Mudbray).

      Friend – Can be found before you catch Komala and I want to use one anyway so yay

      Beast – Trade a few over from SuMo and catch whatever looks the best in it

          • Noted, here’s a tip from me: Don’t do customer service unless you can really put up with people, including your co-workers. I am normally very outgoing and friendly, but i got issues with how people that i work with treat me, my coworkers at a big grocery chain were horrible to me, but the customers were actually more well behaved, it’s sad really. I get along with people, but not all people, especially over prolonged periods of time, but i can be annoying to people too, so it’s thin ice unless the person i am working with is very compatible with talking and getting things done.

  143. So I restarted HG. I’m about to face Falkner right now. My team at the moment is Totodile, Sentret, and Slugma. they’re all lvl 12 I think. I plan on getting a Zubat (for Corbat later), an Oddish (for Bellossom later), and a Phanpy (for Donphan later) as well. those other 3 will come when they come tho lol I usually don’t like replaying Pokemon games as I find I never finish them, but I have a good feeling about this one. I think I’m really going to enjoy traveling through Johto with this team lol

  153. As well as that tbh, I wish more Totems were in different weather conditions. Like give Totem Salazzle Sun like Totem Wishiwashi has Rain, and have her Totem Aura boost defense instead. And Totem Lurantis should get Weather Ball + either Sun or Rain, with one neutralising a weakness whilst the other gives it spammable Solar Blade + status immunity.

    The dumbest thing in Sun and Moon is how big of a deal they made out of Charjabug’s battery: it’s online Dex entry mentions how Vikavolt will carry Charjabugs to power them up. But Totem Vikavolt can’t even benefit from it because it has an all physical moveset for some reason. Battery + that huge special attack would actually make it a challenge, not the easiest totem in the game.

  211. Just found out about the SNES Classic, and as cool as it is, I think it’s too early to be releasing it when tons of fans struggled to get the NES Classic. I mean, it’s not really a suprise per se, but it seems illogical that they just discontinued it when it was clearly in high demand and replaced it with another thing that tons of fans won’t get.

    Now I’m just complaining about something not directly related, though. Looks pretty neat. Can’t wait for the Wii U Classic. xD

Idea for SuMo: you were never there, Lusamine fucked off to Ultra Space, Lillie is a depressed mess lugging around Cosmoem with nothing to do, Gladion never made amends, Hau is still trying to surpass Hala rather than accepting himself as his self, and Aether is still doing fucked up shit behind the scenes whilst Skull is being the same lovable mess. Some Totems change as different Captains retire, but all are challenged in some way.

    alternatively, SuMo but Nebby doesn’t practice safe procedure and gets a Necrozma infection, or evolved into a Necrozma and getting over its emo phase is trying its best to project as a Solgaleo/Lunala.

    Dracommon (Dragon + Common)
    Dragon/Normal
    The Common Dragon pokemon
    They can be found in many places, they are very common. But wherever you find them, they are always at level 5 for unknown reasons.

    Evolves at level 30 into:

    Typigon (Typical + Dragon)
    Normal/Dragon
    The Typical Dragon pokemon
    Many people find this pokemon unintresting. They are Normal, they look plain and they aren’t very special. Most people like its evolution more.

    Evolves at level 50 into:

    Drakkartic (Dragon + Drakkar + Arctic)
    The North Dragon Pokemon
    When wild Typigon moved to the north, most of them died because of the Cold. The few that survived evolved into the “Winter Beasts”, Drakkartic. When they bite a pokemon, all of the Water in its body freezes.

    -After completing the national dex a sidequest starts leading to you getting the Azure Flute. No one tells you what to do with it.

    – Bring it to Spear Pillar and the Hall of Origin appears

    – Totem Arceus. All stats boosted by 4 with Dialga, Palkia and Giratina being called in.

    – After defeating the Arceus. Another fight begins. The music gets sped up. All pokeballs including the masterball fail. You have to defeat it

    – After defeating Arceus twice, it leaves behind a single egg that hatches into a level one arceus

    • F. Leader- Father, I mean Dad.Norman!! He’s the only serious looking Normal Gym leader. And Boy he is serious! Slaking is no joke. And I just like how we actually have a dad in Hoenn.
      F. Pokemon- Vigoroth. I love this raging thing. Its so cute yet so powerful! I remember not evolving mine when I played Emerald, because I wanted it to learn Focus Punch, but I ended up just not evolving ever because it was so cool.

      LL- Whitney. I hate her because SHE has the nerve to cry after yo wn. After killing my Pokemon20_ times. YOU CRY? get out of here.
      LP- Bibarieel. Ummm This thing is just so ugly in everyway. The nasty eyes, the buck teeth. Just gross.

      General Thoughts. Normal is a bit weird type for me. In a game filled with elemental creatures everywhere, normal seems to be the type thats the least normal.I mean honestly if you asked a random person to pick of the 18 types, nobody would pick normal

    • Favorites: ………….pass, Snorlax/Bunnelby/Diggersby: Snorlax is OG and i too am a bloated mammal, and Bunnelby is my favorite rodent on account i hold a great deal of fondness for creatures that can dig underground
      Least favorites: Androgynous Alola thing and Porygon2/Chansey: these two buttholes caused me nothing but trouble always with the Evolite constantly tanking my attacks and spamming recover as toxic eats away at me making a total mockery to my fists on approach to battling

      Normal type pokemon are fairly indifferent to me, i don’t hate them but i don’t love em either mostly hate them because every Normal Mono ends up being the same, Chansey Porygon2, Smeragle, Staraptor, M Lopunny and Snorlax

    • Leader Fav: Whitney, she was tough the first time I battled her. I also laughed the first time she cried after losing, it felt like a human reaction that other leaders tend not to display as much.
      Pokemon Fav: Only one… Eevee or Aipom. Actually it’s really tough because I like so many.

      Leader Least Fav: Cheren, better as a rival, forgettable as a Leader.
      Pokemon least fav: Gumshoos I guess, it’s really only because of its’ unfortunate similarity to… well y’know.

      I like alot of Normal types. I prefer Dual typed ones for the extra STAB in battle, strong Neutral STAB on most things is good though. I like most of their designs even though I could probably re-type them all to something else. I am sick of Normal/Flying, at least Fairy re-typed Togetic and Togekiss. It isn’t the worst type combination, just too many, especially for the regional early route bird.

  237. Whelp Whitney has been defeated. It was prolly the easiest battle with her I’ve ever had. Her Clefairy was of course easy to take down. I even froze it for added effect. Then once she sent out Miltank I sent out my Oddish and poisoned it. Had to do it twice tho since her Miltank caries a Lum berry. Either way after it was poisoned I basically out lasted her. The crazy part is she never even had Miltank use Rollout. She just kept using Stomp for some reason. The only Pokemon that fainted was Oddish and even then she did her job. I feel like this team is tearing through this game hahaha

    • What levels were you? I think alot of people lose to her because they aren’t prepared for her and underestimate her gym. Also you are quite lucky she didn’t use rollout.

      • Lvls were 20 and 21. So I wasn’t crazy over leveled or anything. Higher than her Miltank sure, but I’ve gone in over leveled before and had a tough time with her so I’m surprised lol

    • I actually think It’s the best thing it can be. It started out as a gloryfied commercial and turned into a series with relatable characters, fine storylines and a lot of creativity! The characters are actually changing, developing, learning about their past and about themselves. This show is really nostalgic to me (even if It’s not that old)… and I still think It’s great.

    • I did. I stopped watching after the finale where they kill the guy and he has the dragon. I didn’t watch whatever that was that came off of it.

      • For me each season is getting better (though I haven’t seen the latest one yet). If you’re talking about the Ghost season (I’m not sure, there sure are a lot of Dragons in there) then I think you should give the next one a try. “Skybound” (that’s What the season’s called) is my favourite one, it does things No show like that has done before. It’s not Steven Universe or Rick and Morty, but this particular season is really great.

    • Kinda reminded me of TMNT before Nick took over. It was on of the few Lego shows I actually liked and the episode of what looked like the conclusion of the series took the cake for me, when Zane sacrificed himself to destroy the Dark Lord.

          • Jirachi and Croconaw were to protect Pokemon I had that I was tricked by online trades and Krabby *snivels* was lost by my horror show

            I wanted to restart SS and I traded it to Plt to save it and… I forgot to save losing my lvl.100 Sharpedo and Empoleon and Shiny Krabby :'(

    • All together I easily have over a 100. Early hundreds not including ones from trades. Shiny hunting xy days were a big deal man.

      Im probably most proud of either: my Shiny 6IV Numel I hatched. It’s just so rare to get a 6IV shiny legit. and Mega Camerupt is cool, so definitely worth or shiny Noibat (Noivern now) after MONTHS of hunting, Anyone remember my shiny noibat days?

      My favorite… Man this is hard. I shiny hunt for them because they are good. I don’t know if I have a favorite one. They are all my shiny babies, and I love them all. Even if some of them were accidents, they are my love.

    • 50+, a fair few the same and not good natures etc due to hordes and friend safari as well as accidental hatches when I couldn’t swap method them in gen 6. Almost all I got myself without events.

      Probably proudest of my HP Ice Salazzle, 0 Attack IV and near perfect everything else, gotta hyper train the other stats at some point. Another reason is its’ low female % and the fact I actually got it on a break from the Magikarp Method when I was trying to improve the IVs further.

      Favourite is a tough one, I love all of my competetive ones, I guess maybe Venusuar as it looks great, has HP Fire and looks great as a Mega too.

      The one shiny I’m proud of is my first shiny Musuda Method Chespin. I was breeding Chespins to hand out on WT on Christmas Day and I hatched him on the 6th egg. It was unintentional but I was really excited nonetheless.

  250. So I’ve been playing Spector Knight. I never finished it since I got BotW right as it came out so I played quite a bit of it.

    And that god damn climbing mini game is impossible. It’s so hard. Even with the slow time and float items it’s so freakin difficult.

    • Soooo, you’ll battle Aether foundation grunts to collect Zygarde cores…. for what? Will it take an important role in the story this time? Fighting Aether members that has UBs sounds weird…

      And apparently the portal is located in a cave that’s identical to the one in Kalos where Zygarde is found, Idk I would expect something else to be in this cave in a SM sequel/3rd version, like Zygarde for example

      But these alolan forms are cool and Cheren and Zinnia returning is a dream come true *0*

    • Hmm those Alolan’s aren’t the best except Dunsparce. Are they really that stupid though? Celesteela and Kartana (And Pheromosa and Buzzwole)are parallels they don’t exist together and I don’t think Pokemon would change that. See if it was one game this would work, but it’s still two games so its not very good in that one part.

  256. Wow in ORAS apparently from Winnona onward the levels are raised from the originals. Flannery’s the only one who is the exact same in levels. Norman lowers his best Slaking by 1 level. Yet the first 3 lower all their Pokemon by 1-3 levels each

    • I honestly think that by the time they get to that they’ll have phased out remakes. Gen 5 is a tough one to remake as the “3rd” version is a completely new story they can’t ignore. They have to make two different remakes which I don’t see or leave BW2 out completely which I can’t see either. And if you said then maybe they’d release a single set of games with both stories? I’d say no to that too as it would be a VERY long game. That doesn’t mesh with their current business model. I think at some point they’ll change things up again and move away from remakes

      • No way. They wouldn’t release 3 games in one gen (just like there were No remakes in gen 5) and I’m 100% pokemon Switch won’t have a dual release, that would be VERY dumb.

          • That’s not what I meant, tge third parts were gloryfied DLCs. They wouldn’t release three diffrent games in one gen. Maybe if USUM are third games, but I doubt they are.

            It would be dumb for nintendo. They would had to make a remake and then a remake of that remake. And they would earn much more money if every Sinnoh Lover would have to buy a Switch.

            You realize that all of the models from gen 6/7 are compressed for the 3DS right? They arent actually that low quality. You can use ALL of those assets on the Switch version. Plus they have to have an engine for gen 8 anyways so porting should be very very easy. Especially since they are working on a Switch Pokemon game RIGHT NOW.

            Plus USUM is almost done with development. They have time to do it

          • We have no idea what USUM is.

            Even if the engine stuff is true, they won’t make a dual release because they want to earn as much money as they can. And they have to leave the 3DS some day, so why not while making a Switch game? And they will probably make Gen 8 the first Switch titles. That way they will earn the most, and that makes the most sense. You want them to be released as soon as possible, but the truth is we’ll probably wait few more years.

          • What I meant by that is that Maybe other games had Duel releases, but It’s not a pokemon thing. The Switch is slowly replacing 3DS. They don’t have a single reason to make a dual release. Gen 8 with the Switch will be like Gen 6 with 3DS

          • How? The 3DS audience either already have switches or they will probably buy them (and they cost money)

    • If I had to predict the next few years it would something like this.
      2017 – USUM, In December (hints about gen 8 via Chinese 4chan leaker)
      2018- Gen 8 announced for the switch with a November release date, but do to an issue gets pushed to January of 2019
      2019 Gen 4 remakes (most likely they will have a team working on the gen 4 remake at the same time as another team works on gen 8)
      2020 Gen 9
      2021 Gen 5 remakes based off of BW2.

  274. So I have a conundrum. I need to decide when to evolve my Gloom into Bellossom. It learns very different moves depending on level. I either wait and get giga drain and petal dance or I evolve at lvl 23 and have it learn magical leaf and leaf storm. I just don’t know lol

      Aurorus is an amazing design and I love its cry, Grant is kinda bland but gets bonus points for being one of the only challenges in XY (if you didn’t have a fighting or steel type that is ?) and he doesn’t have much competition in my eyes tbh

      I just find Rhyperior and Olivia bland, but tbh Olivia has an amazing design so I hope they put her to good use in USUM

      As almost everyone I too find the rock type the most boring type. I just looked at the Pokemon and wow the choice is minimal. Also boring trainers, but I guess Brock has a special place in my heart.

    • Let’s see…all of the Rock leaders are really bland! Guess I’ll go with the OG, Brock due to his anime presence even if he wasn’t my favorite. My least favorite leader is probably Olivia. She has no personality and is just waifu bait. The females from Alola were really disappointing save Lillie.

      Favorite Rock Pokemon: Lycanroc Midday. It’s just really cool.
      Least Favorite Rock Pokemon: Alolan Golem! Arceus, this thing is hideous. It would be one thing if it was its own pokemon, but it’s a form of a less ugly pokemon and makes it super ugly!

      Personally I don’t enjoy Rock type. I like some pokemon from it, but I think its redundant and could’ve been merged with ground. Unless I really want to use a rock pokemon, I’ll always just go with Ground over it since it at least has an electric immunity.

      I really dislike this type. It feels unnecessary, like why is it separate from ground? It doesn’t make sense! It’s just a weaker version of Ground in every aspect possible, it has a lot of weakness even though is based on hard materials, the design of the Pokemons are repetitive and mundane stuff and doesn’t have a lot of good moves -_-

    • FP: Ramparados. How can you not LOVE this amaing designed Pokemon. Sure its kinda simple, but the Blue and Black Colors. The amazing moves. Its (ex)signature move Head Smash! Just awesomw!
      FL: Olivia: #BlackandProud I love Olivia, shes so cool and Collected. and she may be using the worst type, but She can still look cool and her using Z move is nice

      LP: Nosepass. this thing is just so Ugly! I cant stand it How can you be so ugly. And its somewhat difficult to find too! But its good it stays in that cave and not scare the world with its ugly self
      LL- Roxanne. Sorry honey. You use Nosepass, what did you expect? Her design is kinda meh. Rocks and Teachers is interesting, but I like how she has a side job, I would pick Roark, but Roxanne is just too easy

      Favorite: Brock and Golem, Brock is just the go-to guy for Rock types, and Golem is a old favorite i very much enjoy the fact he can withdraw into his rocky shell and literally crush everything in its path like a boulder
      Least Favorite: Roxanne and Diancie, nope just totally flaccid with these two sorry
      And i freaking love Rock type pokemon, they are just the type of pokemon i just loved from the start, and quite honestly hearing all this crap about them is just very disrespectful and makes me feel crappy too since i love them so much while they get nothing but crap, and the whole Ground and Rock thing merge is getting annoying

      • Diancie is ugly, but I like Mega Diancie a lot. It’s like a regal crystal queen rock guardian. I don’t even like fairies that much, they’re too much of a wild card type at the current moment for me, but I think Diancie is one of the ones done right.

        • ughhhhh i can look past Carbink as a Rock/Fairy due to it being a Carbuncle
          But now Mega Diancie is even more annoying since it got Power Gem and no longer has to waste a slot on Protect to get its speed, i mean most of the time i tear them apart for fun but that speed and potential Earth Power could be trouble

      I like Rock Types (Possibly in my top 5 favourite types). It’s unfortunate they have a lot going against them in terms of mechanics and respresentation in game (seriously only lowly 1st Gym specialists). I think they are strong in the right hands, forming half of the fearsome EdgeQuake Combo, but their moves are poor or just very poorly distributed (especially on the special side).

      I like quite a lot of Rock types even if others don’t. I think it’s hard for them because most are slow and the type isn’t great defensively. Then again some are able to triumph anyway like Tyranitar. I think Rock moves are probably more useful than most Rock types,just like Ice. Some of my favourite ‘mon: Rockruff and both Lycanroc; Larvitar line; Shuckle; Magcargo; Omanyte line; Kabuto line; Aerodactyl; Aron line; Anorith line; Rhyhorn Line; Kanto Geodude line; Minior; Tyrunt line; Tirtouga line; Amaura line; Archen line. I don’t think there are any I outright hate.

      It is a pretty good typing offensively and weak defensively. I think it’s pretty well balanced and wouldn’t have it any other way. I would like to see more higher level rock leaders. Really liked that Olivia ended up being part of the E4.

  303. Whelp I’m discovering why I’ve never used Crobat before……Zubat is a tough mon to train. It’s not the bulkiest and while it does have Bite It’s not the most formidable Pokemon. I’ll keep going as it’s making progress, but it’s definitely on crutches for a little while longer lol

      • I have actually not yet. I’m still on the fence lol I have it at lvl 22 right now. So I either evolve it now while it’s lvl 22 so it can learn Magical leaf at 23 or I wait until it learns Giga drain and evolve it…..I’m still not sure tho lol

          Dont listen to eveeryone else! It only has 60 BP in gen 4 and 10 PP
          Magical leaf has 60 BP 20 PP and never misses (helpful against some Umbreons).
          Magical LEaf is better, dont make the same mistake I did

    • it becomes extremely powerful once you get a few levels in, in my Crystal run Zubat was poo, Leech Life doing nothing and i had to level it from 4-12 on Leech Life and that was awful, but luckily i had throttle if i had to do that on regular speed i would’ve blown my brain out
