Pokémon Main Series Confirmed for Nintendo Switch

One of the more interesting tidbits to come from Nintendo’s E3 showing was this tidbit:

While many have speculated that the main Pokémon series would be making the jump from the Nintendo 3DS to the Switch, it has now been confirmed that we will be seeing games on the latter. It was later added that it could be “well over a year” until we see a title on Nintendo’s latest console however, hinting that it could be Gen VIII.

Are you HYPED to see a Switch Pokémon RPG?? I am! You may have seen on Twitter last night that I have one in my apartment now… although it is my roommate’s. Sewaddle salaries don’t cover such luxuries :'(

  1. So apparently Litten wasn’t meant to evolve…. it was meant to be used in Pokken…. jesus fuck it’s really good in Pokken

  2. If you could make an open-world Pokemon game, structurally how would you do it? I’ve constantly seen people make the notion of wanting an open-world Pokemon game without fully understand the pros and cons with going open-world. I would love to see some ideas to balance and create uniform gameplay. Personally, I feel that Pokemon is better semi-linear instead of open-world; not all series work well in that front.

    • Tbh I think it wouldn’t be true open world until you beat the game, either you’d have barriers or areas to strong for you to proceed

Tbh I think it could work but not without changing the formula a lot

    • The barriers (trees, boulders, etc.) could be used strategically to allow for a lot of different ways to travel but certain areas are off limits until you are a certain level. IDK not entirely open then, but maybe when you get the ability to smash boulders, you can choose to go to one of many different routes.

  3. We need a gen VII DLC for Pokken. Inci, Primarina, Lycanroc Day, Tapu Koko, Marshaow, Kommo-o, Bewear and Alolan Raichu to name a few.

  4. Its very odd that we dont have any USUM info other than a 20 second teaser trailer. They have to show something soon otherwise i fear many people will just cancel their preorders or just dont even bother preordering in the first place

  5. I’m watching the Yoshi game, and I’m a little bored with it. It just seems like more of the same, and the art style seems like it doesn’t know what it wants to do. Is it paper? Felt? I get that the theme is craft materials, but the nonuniformity bugs me.
