  1. So we saw the first hint of Gen 7 in September 2015 with Zygarde Complete in Corocoro. If Gen 8 is next year, could we be only a few months away from our first hints of a new generation? O_o

      • When have they ever made a remake before the new generation on any new system? It doesn’t really make sense either, because they would include Gen 8 Pokemon in the Sinnoh remakes.

          • I still believe Sinnoh remakes for 3DS, as a final goodbye to the system and gen 8 for Switch in late 2018.

          • In what way? As far as production schedules go they’re still very much on point. With each new system they always wait a couple of years to make a new game for it. It’s likely they’ll lead off with gen 8 and then the following year it’ll be a gen 4 remake.

          • They did that with DP for the DS
            XY with 3DS.
Like literally Pokemon’s history has been changing the system is on every once and while, usually at a start of a new gen (usually? always)
Plus a lot of time is gone into making these games.

      • I just don’t think Sinnoh remakes will be the first game on the Switch.
Maybe remakes might happen next year on the 3DS and the Switch game in 2019.
But I definitely don’t see these games splitting a gen a with a new system like this

      • 6 games in one Gen? Yeah, sure… And they wouldn’t make a remake a new platform introducer. Sorry star, you’ll have to wait

        • ???? what are you talking about? Gen 3-4 had 5 games each. It’s been 10 years since Platinum as of 2018, the sinnoh pokemon in the movie, the hints in game. THE HINTS ARE EVERYWHERE

          • Yes the hints are there, but I doubt it means anything more than ‘hey it;s coming soon guys keep an eye out’
Believe me Star, I want Sinnoh games MORE THAN LIFE ITSELF. Diamond brought me back to Pokemon and revitalized my love for it.
But it just doesn’t make sense for them to do that for a first Switch game

          • I just don’t feel it happening right now Star.
Maybe Sinnoh remakes could be the game in 2018 before 2019 Switch or in Gen 8 as the second game, but not as the first Pokemon game on Switch. I just don’t see it happening.
Like I said, I’ll gladly be celebrating and excited when they do come out. (cause for me it’s a question of when they’ll come out, they are bound to do it)
And, hate to be that person, but if they do have no patterns anymore, that means there’s not point for the Sinnoh remakes. We had a pattern of remaking old games, so maybe they stop after ORAS as that pattern breaker.

    • It’s not coming out next year…..They even said it’s basically more than a year away. It’s likely going to be a 2019 release. Maybe they’ll make it a Spring 2019 release, but not anything earlier than that.lol

      • I’m definitely leaning on 2019 release than 2018.
They basically need to start over with their assets on the Switch and that’ll take awhile to make something that improves on Gen 7
It’s gonna take more than 2018 to make all that and more

        • I mean they prolly already have many of the assets made. I’d be willing to bet that they have most if not all the Pokemon models in HD already. It’s just about constructing the world around them that they’ll need to work on. that said it’ll likely not take them less than a year to get this out.

      • You’re probably right, but it does seem unnecessary to announce so soon if that’s the case. (Metroid Prime 4 is a different situation, I feel). But I’m sure you’re right, it will be announced in early 2019.

        • They announced gen 4 way before it was necessary as well. I think this time it’s just special as it’s the first HD game they’ll be making for Pokemon. That said I’d say the announcement was bit redundant. I mean of course there’s going to be a Pokemon game for the Switch lol

  2. Some thoughts on today so far. the new Metroid stuff is HOT. Really looking forward to playing the new 2d game and eventually maybe the new Prime. Mario Odyssey looks weird, but also pretty great. As for the new Pokemon “news” well…….I’ll at least say I’m surprised they’d even mention it this early. It prolly won’t be out until 2019 at earliest so why not just wait? I think it may have killed any possible glimmer of hope I may have had for USUM…..I wasn’t crazy about a rehash of the original SM story so soon after the initial release and the idea that it really is just filler and won’t add anything worth while is a scary one……I’ll still try and keep an open mind, but I’m not so sure I like the idea of them throwing a game at us just for the sake of throwing a game at us. Hopefully USUM is a worthwhile experience because if no then that’s just disappointing…..lol

  3. You think a game involving Rabbids, a selfie-ing peach, and a (according to leaks) dabbing dk bunny would have personality…

  4. Think i’m gonna let Mario+Rabbits slide, just not appealing enough for me, but it sure does looks gorgeous.

  6. I’m so confused about the premise of the Mario and Rabbids game. Is it open world, strategy, etc. I missed Ubisoft’s press conference so I’m not entirely sure.

    • Put simply it looks like X-com gameplay mixed in with RPG elements and the comedic styles of Rabbids and Mario. It could be really good, or really bad. However it is mario and you can guarantee that they wouldn’t hand over one of their biggest moneymakers to someone if they didn’t have good faith in it.
