  1. Sweet! But if z moves get dropped like megas in gen 8, can we expect a different way of getting that color change from marshadow?

    Reply
    • Well Megas are still in the games (unless Megas are confirmed to be removed at some point :0) and trainers in the battle tree + online battlers still use them a whole bunch, so I don’t think you have to worry about anything being removed.

Also that colour change happens to Marshadow with any attacking move iirc

  2. Still hoping for Megas to return in Gen 8. I don’t think people like Z-Moves quite as much as they did Mega Evolution. Z-Moves might fit Alola but I don’t think they would do well elsewhere, not to mention that Mega Evolution can make an otherwise terrible/forgotten Pokémon usable competitively. Also, making Megas for only 2 generations of starters seems wrong on so many levels that it hurts. The Johto starters would certainly need them.

  3. Well I didn’t really expect anything this month since there was no mention about any big news involving any upcoming games in last month’s issue. This brings me to my chief concern-hopefully it is unfounded and they are not done translating this month’s issue-that there was no mention of any reveal concerning USUM in next month issues. Could next month also be dry of info (at least for CoroCoro)?

    • The movie releases next month on the 15th, so very well might be. A last issue about the movie is possible but who knows?

      Reply
      • Another reason that I am thinking this way is that USUM have been announced ~160 days before it’s expected release. The sequels (BW2) were announced 110-120 days before their expected release in Japan. Along with the fact that we experienced a dry period after SM was announced, I am slightly pessimistic as to when we first hear of new info. At the very least I am holding out for info on the new cover legendaries this month.

        • Yeah, I certainly don’t feel like they want to give us more info just yet. E3 will be completely about Pokkén (yay…) and I don’t expect anything about the new games, even though I’m curious as heck.

  4. BGE2 was still the best reveal this week. Imagine if it was announced as a Switch exclusive like the rumour predicted (that also said it was a prequel), the internet would explode.

  5. What are the weirdest Wikipedia pages you ever stumbled upon? A favorite of mine is ‘List of animals with fraudulent diplomas’. It’s about cats and dogs with a fake college degree.
The most Wikipedia-page is ‘List of lists of lists’. It’s basically a page full of lists to other lists.

  6. Speaking of event Pokemon, can we PLEASE bring back event pokemon having to be caught in some cool event.Like in gen4, I love the way they did it. It made it seeem like they were actually special. Now it feels like you just order them off Amaazon.

    • Tbh I loved how you had to go to an antique store in game to get Magearna, but pales in comparison to how cool it was to find and battle these Pokémon ourselves :/

      Reply
    • It would be nice, but that’s also time and resources that could be spent in better places. That, and if you did create something like that people would immediately ask why it couldn’t have been put into the base game since eventually that event will end and people who were late to the game or don’t have internet access will not be able to ever experience it.

    • Yep, I want that too. It makes no sense. Oh look, this mythical Pokemon spoken of in legends! Let’s have a delivery person hand it to some kid!

  7. hmmmm i just had a thought
Why is Marshadow a fighting type?
it kinda plays off the whole shadow boxing thingy but something else is bugging me, its signature attack Spectral Thief, what if Marshadow can absorb or steal the powers and abilities of its opponents, and with every absorb its original personality erodes

  8. Anyone else kind of annoyed that Capcom is releasing Monster Hunter World on PS4, XboxOne, PC, but no Nintendo Switch version. I guess Capcom is only willing to release decade old games like Street Fighter 2 for the switch. I think Monster Hunter World is going to be similar to the MMO that is in Japan, and Capcom released it on the Wii U, sooo, I am just guess that aren’t going to support Nintendo like they have done in the past. Yes I know that MHXX is coming to the Switch, but to be frank it’s just a port of the 3DS version. Here is hoping for Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon to have an amazing E3 trailer that shows off new stuff.

    Reply
    • TBH it doesn’t look like the Switch could handle that game, but then again, we haven’t seen what it can really do.

Oh yeah, we definitely need an USUM trailer today to smooth things out.

    Meleerlla (Melee + Gorilla)
    Fighting
    The baby gorilla pokemon
They live in tribes. They fight for fun. They know how to use weapons, but they prefer theirnown giant fist.

    Evolves at level 32 into:

    Gorimight (Gorilla + Might)
    Fighting/Dragon
    The Powerful Gorilla Pokemon
They were considered a myth for ages, until an explorer found a group of them. They throw powerful punches and their breath can destroy rocks.

      • *must resist urge to shill Fakemon*

Jokes aside tho I really want a dolphin that evolves into an orca or two separate lines for them, they’re long overdue

        Reply
        • Yeah, but it doesn’t feel like an orca to me at times. I appreciate it didn’t just put a real world orca and slap a Pokemon name to it.

          • Or a Fairy/Water one that’s actually a sweetheart and is lively to be around despite looking terrifying

Version counterpart is a Water/Dark Satan Dolphin

          • Orca’s tend to play with their food though, which is kind of fucked up given how “OP” their abilities as hunters are

          • I feel the same but with orcas. They legit throw seals, sometimes living, up in the air to snap its bones/make it easier to eat/play with it/who knows, but I’m still like ‘awwww orcas are so cute and amazing can I meet one?’

          • and equipped with massive tusks, hulking weight class and astonishing speed
            no wonder i love hippos

          • Well I suppose you could make a dark type hippo, although I think a better argument could be made for fighting type!

          • Evil is mostly subjective and even the most ‘Evil’ of humans tend to be sufferers of mental illness which means that their evil is not comparable to that of an average human

          • fair enough but what about people who are just genuinely evil
No mental issues, childhood trauma or led astray

            just straight up assholes

          • If they have no trauma or illnesses then what reason would they have to commit something that they themselves acknowledge as evil?

Like don’t get me wrong trauma and illnesses aren’t excuses but they’re reasons why it occurs

          • Why tho? Like maybe money, but people tend to have limits and see good in what they themselves are doing

          • you can’t always assume some people will just realize their ways and fly right
some people are just bad to the bone
just imagine the most immoral, shameless degenerate human being devoid without the slightest shred of a conscious

          • I’m not saying they’ll ever ‘be righted’ tho? Adolf Hitler certainly didn’t, I hate Adolf Hitler, but Hitler thought what he was doing was for the greater good. He didn’t see himself as evil.

          • I think you hit it on the head, it’s because of greed or because they see that what they are doing as good rather than evil. They believe it to be good. And that doesn’t necessarily mean mental illness. Maybe it’s a part of your belief system or you think you are doing a good thing but the means you are doing them are evil. Hence why they say ‘the end justifies the means’

          • Yeah that’s what I’m saying, most people think they’re doing something just, people who are ‘evil just for evil’ just aren’t very common

          • Eh, I mean, you can definitely look at it that way. But, to me, in the grand scheme of things, what they’re doing is evil because it’s not done as a means of survival. Orca’s and other animals hunt to live and reproduce, basically the entire function of life. Them killing other animals isn’t evil. But genocide of millions who aren’t affecting your ability to live and thrive is evil, imo.

(not saying it *wouldn’t* be evil even if they were affecting your ability to live, but still)

          • Defining it biologically like this makes it tricky though. But like killing for sport that humans do (I feel like some other species might also do this?) is evil in my eyes

          • Like Fox hunting, big game hunting etc. I really really hate it so much. Anyone who does it has something wrong with them imo.

          • And stuff like torture. But, again, it’s hard to define it for non-human species because they’re not our level of sentient and don’t have consciousness like we do.

          • Animals act mostly on instinct, blame evolution for some of the more horrible yet common acts among some species.

          • I’m definitely not excusing it. These actions are terrible, but I do think it’s a matter of views/perspective. They are two sides to every story. The side we are on can also be not as innocent and good itself.
We hate Hitler/ISIS, but the US has also hurt people in the Middle East. They are definitely not in the same scale (especially compared to Hitler) by any means, but to the Middle East, we can seem evil to them because we kill innocent people in their eyes.
I still think it’s worth bring that to mind, because it does happen.

          • I get you! This is an interesting conversation. I’ve been trying to develop cool villains for stories I want to write, and I feel looking at it from different angles is helpful 🙂

          • No same, having these conversations are definitely insightful. I love when stories focus on the villain side, especially when we see the other side of the story (like Wicked and Twisted, which Twisted is basically a parody musical on Wicked and Aladdin). It humanizes villains (to an extent) and make us see there is a different side to the story and it’s all a matter of who tells the story.
Both sides could have done the same thing, but who tells the story is really important as it decides who’s ‘good’ and ‘evil’.
Good luck on your stories 🙂 I should get to writing stuff myself xD

          • Well tbf Hitler thought he was in the right. I’m not saying he isn’t evil, but you’d be hard pressed to find a human who thought they themselves were evil and had the means to carry out their schemes

          • Evil just for fun, I think people can realise when they do something ‘evil’ but they may as Percy put it think the end result is worth it

          • if only my brother was here right now, he’s studied Hitler for years and knows the insides and outs
something with a failed art school

          • That only really applies to wide scale evils like witch burning. A rapist knows what they are doing is horrifically wrong and evil but still do it.

          • Hm..I’d say we’re the only species capable of demonstrating evil, although like TM06 said, that can be subjective. That said, there is definitely evil in the world sans mental illness

    • well mine’s just a tiny bipedal dolphin with a pearl in its forehead
as it evolves its gains powerful psychic sonar which lets it scan leagues under the sea, people trained them to reclaim sunken objects and finally its psychic waves are so powerful it can effortlessly float in the air and swim in the sky allowing it to live in the land or sea

  13. OK I changed my stance! The E3 Spotlight will have Metroid Prime 4, Animal Crossing, F-ZERO Hyper X, Monster Hunter 5, Mother 4, Skyward Sword HD, Pokémon Stars Switch, and Smash Bros for Switch!!!!

If this does not happen I’ll be very disappointed!

  14. Well since we’re on the subject of evil
i’ve been annoyed with the lack of truly evil pokemon
most are just doing these a survival instincts or hurt or led astray, i want to see a pokemon with a truly cold black heart

    this one y’all know
    Insatyr
    the Discord pkm
    Dark/Fairy
    Prankster
Insatyr is a large bipedal goat like pokemon with humanoid features, it has a crimson and maroon coloration with red claws horns and hooves, a large beard tuft under the chin and a long pointed tail, but its most impressive quality are the horns on the top of its head
‘Insatyr are heartless and malicious, they sense disharmony with their horns and feed on negative emotions, it causes trouble wherever it goes”

          • Yeah Digimon, imo, was more likely to paint certain Digimon as evil as we see it, both in the anime and in games (at least in Digimon World Dawn/Dusk the only Digimon game I’ve played)

          • They have Devimon, Mephistomon, Malomyotismon, Apocalymon etc, they are completely evil almost always. They are literally Virus types (not all virus types are pure evil though).

    • Like I have said before, it’s due out in 5 months and they announced it right before E3 along with Pokken Tournament DX.
It would seem weird to not at least mention it and show something from it, both today and tomorrow during the Pokken livestream event
